Please help...been attempting to find answers on the web for about a week now, but no joy. My device is running Gingerbread.ueki8, firmware 2.3.5. Purchased a Samsung HM1200 bluetooth headseat and my Yp-g70 will not find the device. Followed the headset pairing instructions precisely...very simple...ensure led is blue (pairing mode) and press the talk button. I've tried doing this with wifi and gps disabled, among other subtle things, with no luck. Of course, I've been simultaneously telling the device to scan for new bluetooth devices. Is there something programmed in the OS or firmware that's preventing the bluetooth headset from being visible? If so, is there a software/rooting solution? Any help is Greatly appreciated.

Have you made sure the player is visible to other Bluetooth devices? That might be the issue

Paired the hm1200 headset succesfully to an itouch...was visible immediately. Still can't get my yp-g70 to find the device. Is there a known software or hardware restrictive setting in the Galaxy player 5? Does anyone know of a solution?

I haven't had any issues with my other BT devices. The only issue I can think of is that your device doesn't support the same version of BT. I had issues with the BT keyboard then realized it only works for Android3.X+ and iDevices. Check that and make sure it can support Android 2.X.
Thank you so much for the response. The manual "says' it supports bt 3.0, just as the headset manual does. I spent 45 minutes on tech support chat with Samsung for them to end with "the yp-g70 doesn't support a bluetooth headset, only headphones". I think I'm officially going to give up.

i would think that the bluetooth would only not support the mic portion of the headset. but tech support knows best i guess

My Dad wants to go the Android route and I want to tell him to get the Thunderbolt but Bluetooth is the single most important function he uses in his car. He has a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel. It pairs fine with blackberry phones.
I know that the Droid Incredible only worked with cyanogen. I'm just curious for some information on the Thunderbolt. Thanks for looking. XDA has been an amazing resource.

Well the TB is going to be capable of using Bluetooth 3.0 so I'm sure its pretty capable
I use it as a Bluetooth mp3 in my truck, it automatically pairs just fine

Let me ask you... I have a 2011 Sonata and I have notice a little cracking noise when I playing music pretty loud. Now the noise is somewhat low but you can hear it more when raising the volume. Wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.
So wait it's a 3.0 device? I thought it was a 2.1???
I had a lot of problems with this on the Droid Incredible. It's the same reason why wi motes would not work with the Incredible when we tried to pair them using bluetooth. Has this issue been resolved on the Thunderbolt?
I loaded Cyanogen on the Incredible which had a different bluetooth stack native to its build. This resolved the problem on the Incredible and I am looking for verification that by default the Thunderbolt does not have the issue.
If so I will ditch my Incredible too.
thanks,

When 3.0 becomes available they will update the Bluetooth stack to.support it... It has the hardware for it just not software
And as far as I know the thunderbolts Bluetooth stack is up to date instead of being behind like the Dinc

Is anyone else experiencing constant Bluetooth disconnects while streaming audio? This happenes to me every 15-20 minutes whether I am listening to music or an audio book. Its only become an issue again because I started to drive my car which has MS sync in it. This is driving me insane because the only way I can get it to reconnect is to cycle the Bluetooth radio on the phone... So here I am at highway speeds playing with my phone, the exact thing the Sync is supposed to prevent.
Thanks

I get it every so often using my jawbone icon and Netflix. I am on the latest 198-7 ROM. I ended up making a tasker shortcut to cycle through for me, which works well. maybe you could program your camera button or something.

Thankfully, this is one problem I do NOT have!
Flawless connectivity with my Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and with my Hyundai Genesis.
I have not seen this issue at all. my truck unit works great and my Motorola headset works well. i stream every day and haven't had a bug yet, knock on wood.
I have a set of moto s9-hds and i have to unpair and pair at least once a day. I read on the moto forums that its a known problem.

I had this problem, I even started a thread for it. I used rsdlite to flash back to an older software an updated manually. Then once u pair your Bluetooth device click down on it and wait a few seconds and options will come up. Just make sure everything is checked off. Pm me if u need more help. I will try to make a video for everyone else.

I had the jawbone icon and i had the same frequent disconnect issues a few times a day, but i got the new motorola elite flip, love it btw, works way better than the icon every did and has only disconnected once since i have been using it for 3 days now and it automatically reconnected, unlike my icon where i had to do the power cycle

I have to shut down Pandora, thur headphones off/on, then go back to what I was doing? I just THOUGHT it was Pandora?

I have updated to LPQ hoping the Bluetooth phone book issue would be fixed but it is not Does anyone know if cm9 rom has the same problem on the sgs2? Let me know so I can decide on putting my phone on sale or install the right ICS rom

I actually think ICS has a compatibility issue with certain BT devices.
I bet you ran in to no issues on the GB platform.
My BT crashes my phone when paired with my car stereo and streaming music. And I cant get my phone book to work either.
Actually I did.

With my phone connected to my car stereo via bluetooth, the volume seems considerably low compared to my rezound, which was even lower than my thunderbolt. Phone and deck are both maxed out.
Tried various EQ apps, not much difference..
On stock rom, not rooted.
Anyone else have this issue?

Are you on the OTA update?
My Bluetooth headset has very low volume which has been reported by others. I was hoping this was fixed in the OTA.
Yes im on update.

You're not the only one. I've spent most of my time in the Android Central forums and same issue reported there as well. Update seems to have improved connecting but quality hasn't changed much. Personally speaking my Plantronics Voyager worked great on my Samsung Fascinate but on the DNA ... well let's just say a toaster would do a better job with audio.
What Bluetooth software is in your car? I believe the droid DNA uses 4.0 and updating your Bluetooth software in your car via usb might help ya

Can't say I've had the same problem with Korean car head units, Ford Sync units, LG HBS 700 headphones, and an older Jawbone Prime. All have worked fine, and in the case of the LG headphones, I have to operate them both at significantly lower than full volume on both.

Are any of the custom roms better with this issue?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
No.
I've tried replacing the HTC BT drivers with both stock drivers and CAF drivers and neither made any difference that I could tell.
Dsb9938 pulled an alternative user space stack from somewhere and that didn't change anything for me either.
Does anyone have any experience using the iBolt Xprodock with their Note 2? I've tried with two different KitKat roms but I can't get audio to come through the car when my phone is docked. I've seen some similar complaints about other galaxy phones on 4.4, I just can't imaging that dock audio isn't supported?

As I already told you, dock audio hasn't worked on any aosp rom on this (or any other smdk4412) device that I am aware of.
Yes I remember, I thought perhaps someone had found a workaround. There is an old app in the play store that rerouted audio thru the dock on Samsung devices a little over a year ago, wasn't sure if something like that was around or being worked on.
