No dock audio on kitkat roms - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Does anyone have any experience using the iBolt Xprodock with their Note 2? I've tried with two different KitKat roms but I can't get audio to come through the car when my phone is docked. I've seen some similar complaints about other galaxy phones on 4.4, I just can't imaging that dock audio isn't supported?

As I already told you, dock audio hasn't worked on any aosp rom on this (or any other smdk4412) device that I am aware of.

Yes I remember, I thought perhaps someone had found a workaround. There is an old app in the play store that rerouted audio thru the dock on Samsung devices a little over a year ago, wasn't sure if something like that was around or being worked on.

Yp-g70 and Bluetooth headset pairing problem

Please help...been attempting to find answers on the web for about a week now, but no joy. My device is running Gingerbread.ueki8, firmware 2.3.5. Purchased a Samsung HM1200 bluetooth headseat and my Yp-g70 will not find the device. Followed the headset pairing instructions precisely...very simple...ensure led is blue (pairing mode) and press the talk button. I've tried doing this with wifi and gps disabled, among other subtle things, with no luck. Of course, I've been simultaneously telling the device to scan for new bluetooth devices. Is there something programmed in the OS or firmware that's preventing the bluetooth headset from being visible? If so, is there a software/rooting solution? Any help is Greatly appreciated.

Have you made sure the player is visible to other Bluetooth devices? That might be the issue

Paired the hm1200 headset succesfully to an itouch...was visible immediately. Still can't get my yp-g70 to find the device. Is there a known software or hardware restrictive setting in the Galaxy player 5? Does anyone know of a solution?

I haven't had any issues with my other BT devices. The only issue I can think of is that your device doesn't support the same version of BT. I had issues with the BT keyboard then realized it only works for Android3.X+ and iDevices. Check that and make sure it can support Android 2.X.
Thank you so much for the response. The manual "says' it supports bt 3.0, just as the headset manual does. I spent 45 minutes on tech support chat with Samsung for them to end with "the yp-g70 doesn't support a bluetooth headset, only headphones". I think I'm officially going to give up.

i would think that the bluetooth would only not support the mic portion of the headset. but tech support knows best i guess

Horrible Bluetooth Range

I did search didnt see it addressed so figured id see if anyone else has issues with Bluetooth. Ive tried my bluetooth headphones and speakers with 2 other phones and my tablets and have no issues. With my note im lucky if i can get more than 5 ft of range before it starts breaking up. Im currently running bigfau blackstar rom. Tried stock and cm10 jb but none made any difference in bluetooth. Also tried without my case still no change. Thank you for any input

I use my bt all day, every day for both phone and music and haven't noticed any difference between rooms, and I've tried a bunch.
That's strange. I have a set of Beats Wireless BT headphones.
I can be quite far from the phone with them still working fine. I've tried on all the ROMs I've tried; mainly CM9, PA (earlier), AOKP, etc.
Just for giggles, remove a case if you're using one and see if it improves. A TPU or plastic type case shouldn't matter, but just isolate it as a problem.
I use BT Tether between my phone and tablet reliably 5+ feet away, and my BT GPS works for at least 5 feet (and that's about norm for how far it goes; small antenna on its side), so all seems about on par to what I'm personally used to.

Bluetooth Audio Volume

With my phone connected to my car stereo via bluetooth, the volume seems considerably low compared to my rezound, which was even lower than my thunderbolt. Phone and deck are both maxed out.
Tried various EQ apps, not much difference..
On stock rom, not rooted.
Anyone else have this issue?

Are you on the OTA update?
My Bluetooth headset has very low volume which has been reported by others. I was hoping this was fixed in the OTA.
Yes im on update.

You're not the only one. I've spent most of my time in the Android Central forums and same issue reported there as well. Update seems to have improved connecting but quality hasn't changed much. Personally speaking my Plantronics Voyager worked great on my Samsung Fascinate but on the DNA ... well let's just say a toaster would do a better job with audio.
What Bluetooth software is in your car? I believe the droid DNA uses 4.0 and updating your Bluetooth software in your car via usb might help ya

Can't say I've had the same problem with Korean car head units, Ford Sync units, LG HBS 700 headphones, and an older Jawbone Prime. All have worked fine, and in the case of the LG headphones, I have to operate them both at significantly lower than full volume on both.

Are any of the custom roms better with this issue?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
No.
I've tried replacing the HTC BT drivers with both stock drivers and CAF drivers and neither made any difference that I could tell.
Dsb9938 pulled an alternative user space stack from somewhere and that didn't change anything for me either.

Note 2 USB Audio with External DAC

I'm trying to use a Fiio E17 USB DAC/Headphone Amp with my Note 2. It does not work with the stock ROM or CM10.2. It does work using USB Recorder Pro but I'd love to have it work natively. Do any of the Note 2 ROMs have native USB audio working?
Did you enable it in settings?
Settings> Accessories check box to use external speakers.
USB audio works great with my car dock on Jellybeans ROM v22 and on stock.
Still not working on any of the 4.3 ROMs yet though.

I'm getting closer Got the dock to be recognized and it tries to route audio. Now instead of playing through phone speaker it just doesn't play at all. Baby steps.

I'm running a 10.2 nightly (4.3) and I don't have a Settings>Accessories check box.
Unfortunately it does not work yet on 4.3, but akellar is working on it for AOKP.

[Q] Aux output through Accessory Menu

I purchased an iBOLT Dock'n Play cable for my Verizon Galaxy Note 2 with 4.3 Jellybean. It worked well when I would go into the system settings and select Accessory and then output to headset. I recently switched to T-Mobile and a Galaxy S5 with Kitkat loaded. I have rooted the phone and am running Alliance ROM B2 as my DD. I cannot find the Accessory setting anymore and there are no output settings to change as in Jellybean. I really liked that feature because I could route the aux output through the microusb rather than having to plug in two cords (USB and AUX). I have searched everywhere on the web and the forums for a solution, but have not found anything that addresses the problem.
Can anyone help?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Do you want to output sound through the usb cable?
The accessory menu is still in Settings, under the heading "System" - that should be what you're looking for.

Yes. I would like to have audio output through usb. I saw the system accessories, but the only option is output through hdmi. Either stereo or surround. It used to have output through headset which would route it through the usb and eliminate the need for the aux cable from the headphone jack.

Sorry I can't help with this. I thought iPhones were the only ones that could even do that :silly:
Since when can android do this? I had a Note 3 and it didn't work, N5 didn't work, HTC one didn't work.
If you use the dock cable mentioned above, it works very well. The option just disappeared with the update to Kitkat.
