I do not like the uninformative default battery icon in the statusbar of gingerbread roms like DSC.
UOT kitchen seems not to work with our framework. So I took the images from UOT Kitchen and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=724778 and put them into streakmod recovery update zips for convenient use.
Fortunately that works just by replacing the png-image files in /system/framework/framework-res.apk without resigning. So this update files should work on other 407 based roms or patched 407-frameworks as well.
I made 3 versions
dsc_obat.zip - the boring original battery icon
dsc_dbat.zip
looks like

I need to say I love the approach
I thought of it, and it was there already!
I was just thinking of asking this!
and, it's here already.
Thanks for this!
Trying out the dbat now
Are there any zips like this to change the dialer?
still searching for ^ this.
Otherwise - I think 2.2 is a wonderfully fast ROM!
Thanks,
Sony.
P.S. - If we replace the png files only ( in your zips ) - will it still be ok?
I can replace it with some other files there - like the digital numbers only kind - and post it here. If it's ok with you.
Thank you again for the work!

Just to let you know, UOT Kitchen does work on DSC 2.2's files as G-Rave's theme for DSC used it for the battery indicator. However, you have to be sure to upload both framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk to the kitchen. This is because the battery indicator appears in both apps, and only changing one of them doesn't work.

So I'm guessing you've heard all the hype about the new Honeycomb Preview SDK. As a product of that I bring you Blue Bee! This theme is for CM7, based upon the honeycomb files to give you a new look to your phone. This is using the #26s files and I am working on a theme to use with the new manager. Now, these have to be pushed with adb as I dont know how to make a flashable zip so if anyone wants to do that props to you. For now though push SystemUI.apk to /system/app/ ,framework-res.apk to /system/framework/ and DeskClock.apk (if you want it) to /system/app/.
If the zips hate you use 7zip since I used an EFFICIENT compression which windows doesn't like to extract. 7zip
The theme!
The clock!
And all the honeycomb wallpapers in the launcher1
CCC below.
If this is for CM7, you'd better use the integrated (proper) theming system (see theme chooser / cyanbread.apk if you want an example) than modding frameworks and co, which is a pain to maintain with all these nightlies.
I wonder if there's some instructions to create themes using CM7 but I guess apktool can do the trick :
uncompile cyanbread.apk => edit AndroidManifest.xml and change the app's name so it's not "cyanbread" anymore (or it will replace cyanbread) => recompile = you now have a new theme that will show under ThemeChooser and which you can theme.
pros:
- not touching system files
- every CM7 roms supported (a mdpi theme will work on any mdpi-CM7, and if hdpi present on ALL CM7)
- proper way to theme ever
- mods can be distributed as simple .apk, no more theme flash under recovery
cons:
- no documentations, even if it seems to let us theme whatever we want, there might be some limitations (edited .xmls such as animations)
Sympnotic aparently it is bugged atm as it keeps saying "No theme files for screen resolution" or something to that effect. I am working on it however but it is a pain as for every file I have to add a redirect an xml file, thats a lot of entries.

the theme-exp branch is still beta so changes are changing/breaking a lot of stuff, but it worked quite good when it just had been merge (by that I mean that I had no "wrong resolution" problems)
I'm actually on #22 or #24, and I can switch between themes and mods cyanbread.apk / the blue one too
Is the error only happening when you try to switch to your Honeycomb theme or is this on every themes ?
All on #26 since I havent made the package for mine yet although yes it did work originally back on #22 which I ran last.

Dang, that's a pain in the ass, having this "asset blehbleh" problem with Theme Chooser on #29, ffs they made the battery and icons blue with cyanbread =(
Well guys I made a blend of two themes

Themer framework-res corrected
Hope you enjoy
Tested in Mini Pro
Flashed your theme on a freshly installed CM 6 3.03. I've got the icons but no modded notifications bar nor reboot menu. Any ideas, suggestions ? And also in CyanogenMod settings there are no other themes than stock ones. Should I unzip the archive into CMtheme folder on SD card ?
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
I did a little browsing and found that Xeno CyanoGen theme has an extra zip that if I understood corectly should be placed inside CMtheme folder. It contains a .xml file. Just sayin.
I put the theme xml attach, just extract and copy to the sdcard CMthemer.
but not needed here
It seems I can't get it to work, status bar icons won't change. That's a shame coz out of all the themes this was the most beautiful.

Not work!!!!!
Alot of ppl wonder how to change the battery animation so here you go.
I know that it can be done manually by extracting .apk and then editing the files,
but using UOT Kitchen is just too damn simple so why even bother.
Even tho UOT Kitchen is easy enough some of the users dont know what to do there so imma take some screenshots to break it down.
1. Use Root Explorer or any other method to get framework-res.apk from /system/framework
2. Head to UOT Kitchen and upload your framework-res.apk as shown on the screenshot.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. After the file is uploaded move to Battery tab and pick out wich animation you want for ur framework. You can also check out bootanimations... the list they have is quite good, but you have to know where bootanimation.zip is located on ur ROM.
4. After clicking Generate Preview you can head to Summary tab. Everything should be green n "Submit work to kitchen" clickable. Do that... click that damn button and head to pickup page. It shouldnt take longer than 5-10m. Dont forget ur order number tho.
The file will comes in .zip form what can be installed trough xRecovery - "Install custom zip"
You can also extract the .zip and push framework-res.apk to its place manually.
Thanks to user propc who made a script for changing framework so its quite easy. Script and tutorial on using it at.
And tyvm UOT devs for making life easier.
I have used UOT Kitchen to edit frameworks of different 2.1 and 2.2 ROMs so it should work on all of em.
Back up your rom before making any changes cause editing system files can brick your device.

Hello everyone
I've created a small tool which I use to install themes on my phone. It's only small project I created for people, who want to change theme in the easiest way. And I want to share with you.
I don't know if it's working properly - but I have no problems with it I hope it will be working without any bugs
I'm not responsible if your phone/PC will explode or anything!
Features
-create signed update.zip with your framework
-possibility to add additional apk (like modded apps)
-possibility to move created update.zip to microSD card and reboot phone to recovery mode
-move your apk files directly to /system folder
-backup your files before changing
-checking if other adb processes are running
-english translation (I've made it very quickly, so there might be some mistakes - forgive me )
You have to have full root for adb to use directly moving apk files!
Requirements
-.NET Framework 3.5 (App created with Visual C#)
-Java

I have replaced only the png image background. But you can also replace other PNG images so that the lollipop style is back. To do this you must die apk only win rar Open and copy the images background png icons framework simply into the appropriate folders. Win rar saves everything back as APK, these you can then to the original replaced, not forget permissions. Original apk secure if there are problems. That goes well with SystemUI and Framework res. Xposed mod fullscreen and the Full Screen Caller mod on xda did not work in my rom.
If it helps, here is the apk that I use.
