[q] what's the best gingerbread build? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
I'm flashing my Xperia s back to gb because of fast capture bug and would like your opinions.
Which version of gingerbread is the fastest and bug free?
Also, if anyone can upload it that will be great. I'm in the united states north America region.

What fast capture bug? Mine works?

You must be kidding. , flash gingerbread? WHAT???
If u have any problems with ics, make sure you are on the latest build, and wait for updates .
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app

You will be laughing but one of the main purpose of the smartphone is to make a calls
In my case I have a problem with the main microphone - after some time of re-flashing to whatever ICS ROM the main microphone stop working - nobody hear me. There is corresponding tread on SONY support forum but I can wait forever so just yesterday I had to move back to GB....
So I have to join this question. Any answer?

For me, the .75/.76 GB builds are the fastest & most bug free :good:! I've myself downgraded several times, but can tell you one thing though that this latest ICS (6.1.A.2.45) is much snappier, although buggy (i've got QL & BE bug on ICS)! Anyway, if you go back to GB you will have no QL/BE/deep sleep issues anymore :victory:!

.75TW in my opinion

To your question: I highly recommend the latest GB KA ROM.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app

Many users don't notice but the latest ics still carries the quick launch bug, where it takes up to 2-3 tries to activate it from deep sleep. That was one of the main reasons I got this phone so back to gb for me.

Obviously this isn't a problem caused by custom ROMs. Send it in for repair or for a replacement instead of being stuck on GB.

I suppose you did the official update, right?
Did you have custom parts before?
You could try repair option in Sony Mobile Update Service.

Strange issue, although I read about some camera issues from the Sony Support Forum also...
Try reinstalling the ROM.
If issue still appears, you have to wait for the official ICS, shouldn't take too long with your carrier. Just connect your phone, open Sony Update Service and look for update.

does it do anything interesting?
Still haven't updated to the last update, don't feel to miss something/something was broken.
Is there also a list somewhere what every update does?
hopefully it fixes the annoying signal going off problem...
can anyone pls upload a ftf or a .img? update still not available for me
it only just got certified... it'll be at least 2-3 weeks before they actually release it... IF they release it...
That's cool...
Sadly, PCC says that my software is latest (I'm on .564 BTW)
Even the update center never notifies a thing!

if u're still on 1.564 _DO NOT_ update to 3.162...
He can't anymore, 3.162 got pulled off PCC when Sony found out about networking issues. 1.564 is currently yet again the latest firmware for the Xperia P and U.

Yeah, it seems to just not affect some devices. Unfortunately my device was affected, so I had to downgrade to .564.
How can I install the "generic" firmware for my Xperia U ST25a? I looked on xdafiles site and there was only an ftf file for the ST25i version. Since my phone has my operator's firmware, I doubt it'll update it as often as Sony would. hahaha
Anyone have ftf file build numb. 177? if u have please upload it
It's not yet released. It's just been certified, means you'd get it via PCC in 2-3 weeks

You say it takes 2-3 weeks after certifying to be released... but, as you can see here http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=21037 , there is plenty of certified versions, but I'm still on .564...
I'm new to Sony world (this is my first Sony phone). How this works? Is it local?
Not every certified update gets pushed out to users at the end.
True..
I'm on. 564 and I was never mentioned I had an update to .162 as Sony had withdrawn the update following the signal loss bug...
You just gotta be patient

That's good for you then. Sony took back the update for .162 as they realized that many people are facing severe connection problem.
I am now on .162
Well, the problem only occurs when you have GSM connection, if you set the connection to WCDMA/GSM you won't have the problem.
I am still waiting for .177 update, let's just hope it will come real soon
If you're facing the network problem, why don't you flash with .564?

I am just fine with this firmware, of course without considering the network problem on GSM.
I noticed that this FW is much faster than .564 I managed to get >2500 on quadrant which I could only get 2200 on .564 firmware.
If the update does not come within 3 days, I am planning to downgrade my firmware.
By the way, does flashing via flashtool void you warranty ? Somewhere on Sony Forum it says "might void" your warranty. It sounds vague to me.
Guys any one facing cameras issue?
Like for me after.some shots cameras closed with messages "camera not available"
Any one? Btw I am on .564

There already is an official beta?
HAAAAAAX!!!
I think it's just a bugfix update. But maybe it'll boost up performance a little, as upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 did.
There's still that obnoxious LED bug which they HAVE TO fix.
But who knows, who knows...maybe Santa will fly down to us and give us fast and stable Jellybean...

No I was saying there is a pre alpha version (AOSP + CM) build of Jellybean courtesy of some XDA developers on here, Sony haven't released ICS for everyone yet and it's been almost half a year!, there is no chance they'll release an official beta any time soon.
Well, I believe in sony. Because they have done brilliant support. And they said they will give a software support for 16 month. So make.believe for jelly bean update.

With 2.3.4 to 4.0.3(.562) i got the update 7-10 days afer its certificaton date in ptcrb
For 4.0.3 to 4.0.4(.431) i got the update on June 5 while on ptcrb its certified on June 15
Hope fully this one fixes all, dont really care about JB or not!
As the way they name thier version i think this is still ics. JB may be 4.2.xxxx

[Q] Xperia U: Will this phone get better with a new flash image?

Hi,
I have an XPeria U, which I've noticed is pretty laggy. This isn't the future I was promised. I was promised a robot butler by 2013 and instead I have a phone that takes longer to pull up a contacts list than it does to open a notebook and turn to the page with the persons name on it.
I bought this phone unbranded, but there still seems to be a lot of bloatware on it, courtesy of SE.
Is it worth flashing with something that hopefully doesn't come with *checks phone* music unlimited, video unlimited, recommender etc
Or is it just a laggy phone?

Ah. Yes I'm on ICS.
Is there an easy way to rollback (ie in-phone option) or do I have to reflash it?

Flashing can make it faster than stock ICS (ive found nice jb and ics roms). Still be prepared to spend a lot of time testing roms. The ram is a big bummer.

GT-I9300 4.3 update? Yes or no ?

Hey guys,
What's your experience with 4.3 update ? It seems like a lot of people are complaining about it.
Is it a go or should i stay with 4.0.4?
I want to update to 4.3 only because of buttery-smooth performance that Google claims it to be after the update
I know that first OTA update was a complete dissaster but after that Samsung released a fix for it, so is it really fixed with that new update or it's still buggy ?
So what's your opinion ? Should i update or stay on 4.0.4 or perhaps wait for 4.4?
I hope 4.4 will have much less problems
Thanks in advance,
Slim Shady
