Hi!
I rooted my phone yesterday and created a backup using cwm out of curiosity. I tried run the backup file and all of the seems to be lost now, ever sonce that happened. my contacts cannot sync with my facebook app. Anybody knows the reason why and is there any fix on this?
Thanks!
Bo

you need to resync your contacts.
when you used your back up all links were broken in the firmware.
Thanks for the reply. Actually I do the resync and still nothing happens. Does resetting to factory default will do the trick?

Were your contacts actually saved to google? Or just phone?
Did you manually backup your files to PC? If not - WHY lol
I play around with settings in phone information in *#*#4636#*#*
now my phone can't send sms, but still can receive sms from other ppl. The weird thing is,i can make a call.
just Can't send sms
So.... any ways to repair this problem?
Thx

Yeay!!! Fixed now. Thx you all.
Woohoo!!
here's what happened.
I found out that my smsc number in phone information is 00. So that's wrong. Then i go Googling for my service provider's smsc number on the net and found this
+60193900000
So I've copied to phone info, but it turns out that it can't be updated. So i use my friends number, which have the service, did the 4636 thingy, go to his phone info, updated his smsc and copied the numbers appeared to my phone info. The number is different from what i found in google even though it's smsc. I don't understand a hell about it.
But the number appeared on my friend's can be updated.
So that a good news. Next i went to Go Sms's settings -> send settings, paste the number i found in Google earlier to the custom smsc number. And valla, now it works! Im back to my sms-ing life! woohoooo! Thx a lot!!! Love xda family. Hehehee
thx for hearing me out.
peace yo

Let me guess. You messed or pressed refresh on phone information>smsc right? Made that mistake and went to my service provider and they just gave me the right code
Edit: using stock rom i've input the code to 'message centre' in message>menu>settings

Yup,
Probably you messed up message center number. you can find on net or some other mobile , of your service provider.
So, i need to go back to stock rom, or i just need to put the code in smsc?

Well I'll try not to go back to stock rom first. Thx guys, appreciate it. Hehehehee^^

For me i went back to stock because i can't find the message centre in cm9 using the message>menu>settings way..

If i beckup my current rom, go back to stock, change the settings, then restore my current rom back, so, it'll be back to my unchanged settings right?
I've searched my service provider's smsc. +60193900000
But when i put it in the phone info in *#*#4636#*#*, and update it, it shows update error...

I haven't seen this issue discussed yet...
I rooted my S4 it kept it stock. Using Titanium Backup I uninstalled Verizon Tones, Verizon Navigator, Viewdini, and Audible apps. After that, all audio (ringtones, notifications, media, keyboard sounds, etc) will randomly cut out and the only way to restore it is a restart (soft or otherwise). I reinstalled the apps with Titanium Backup from the backed up files, updated the files, and it didn't restore function.
Has anyone else seen this issue? It's driving me crazy when I try to stream music and it cuts out.
It's probably because when u replaced the files. It may not have been too the right folder/section. If u want me to check where they go I can
If I helped press thanks!

Thanks. Do you have recommendations on how I can remedy this?
The issue was happening before I restored the files.

As far as I know it stopped working after I uninstalled the apps. Worst case scenario I should be able to do a factory reset, right?

Hey guys,
From time to time my view cover won't respond to open an closing anymore. Then I have to reattach it to make it work properly again.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks!

Does it happen after you change something on your phone ie through xposed or wanam ?
That kept happening to me (I have a non genuine S view)... I figured you can use Odin Mobile Pro to simply wipe the davlik cache and it'd start working again as soon as it reboots.
Now I don't have any problems with it at all....

I am running stock touchwiz, non-rooted at all...
Sometimes it doesn't work and i slap in close, it starts working again. Maybe it's a view-cover problem and not a phone problem...
thanks for your reply!
