few things gone wrong in my en-devour to play all my music from my xperia s to my car sound system with spotify, i will try explain as best i can.
using the auxiliary jack output to the auxiliary jack input on my car stereo results in poor sound quality with my sub and sound system. (this isnt the case with my ipod nano though, although i just found out i cant sync my offline music from spotify to solve the problem easily, and i could use the usb input on my car stereo which results in even better sound quality)
if a bought a bluetooth stereo and connected my xeperia s to my car stereo through bluetooth, would the sound quality come through pumping and clear like it does with my ipod through usb connection or auxiliary?, or is it going to be much quieter like when i connect my phone through the auxiliary?
i have tried connecting my sony xperia s to my sony headdeck with a usb cable but that dosnt work either to try improve sound quality, it wont read it. Not even if i mount the usb and yada yada
or anyone know of any other solutions to solve my delima?
apologies if this is in the wrong section, i am noob!

Nope not yet, been a bit worried doing it with such a new phone and voiding my warranty if i cant root back. Do you think this will stop the sound comming out the auxially jack quieter?

hi,
already asked this on the official sony-erricson forum but no response, so maybe someone here can help....
has anyone managed to connect an external microphone to the x10 for video recording? maybe with some kind of self-made adapter?
not talking about hands-free sets but rather a more "professional" recording microphone.
i already tried to connect various external microphones (active and non-active) to the phone but then i only get statics / clicking noises.
reason i'm asking is i took a video at a concert but the sound is clipping really bad... really a shame especially with upcoming 720p recording....
(maybe another solution would be if it was possible to adjust the sound recording level... any app for that?)
It should be possible to add an external microphone. You probably will need a homemade adapter. The headphone/microphone jack is a TRRS connector (tip, ring, ring, sleeve). Check Wikipedia for TRS. The "pinout" is listed there.

So if you just plug the handsfree in with and/or without the headphones as well, it records audio (voice memo and video)?

yes, you can use the hands-free (with or without the headphone part) as a microphone when recording video... quality is a little better than the internal microphone but still not really good...

thank you argnom... . now i know what to search for..
there seem to be some adapters for the iphone that split the trrs connector into seperate microphone/headset connectors... maybe i will try one of these... or is the wiring different on the x10 from the iphone?
www . showmecables.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=8335
edit: think i found the one i need (IF the wiring is the same as for the iphone...)
www . kvconnection.com/product-p/km-iphone-mic.htm
I really don't know if the wires are in the same order... I suppose they should be.

any more info to back this up? did you try it yourself? (what mics did you try?) or read it somewhere? (link?)
I've tried everything single brand. Dr dre beats, shure, sennheiser, any headphones or earbuds that have mic it won't work with x10. You can use x10 headset that came in box with regular earbuds or headphones

lol true like mw600 but drains battery
Has anyone got an external microphone working with the HTC One X. I have bought and adapter and a microphone but its still not working at all. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi.
This is my first Samsung so, have mercy
None of my headphones are working.
I only get sound in one side and the other is too low. Almost inexistent.
I tried with cable to connect it to my audio system and the same.
Next step was to use the hands free from my X10.
Is working ... but not as expected. Almost no bass and no trebles.
The only ones working are the ones from the SGS2 box or using my headphones via MW600 bluetooth (which i don't like it as it drains more batter and the SGS2 is power hungry)
So, is a problem with the 3.5" ?
Or my headphones?
Or ... is a compatibility problem? Can i find somewhere an 3.5" adapter?
Thanks
Its gonna sound dumb but u have plugged the jack all the way in yeah? Takes a little bit more force than u think

Worked with other headsets for me
- Dell streak headset
-Iphone headset
Needed that extra push to fit the pin in really well
Well, i'll try one more time ... anyway, earlier i found something else using the X10 headset.
If i press the "answer" button from headset, everything is fine but as soon as is de-pressed ... it goes back.
I have a similar problem with my expensive Shure earphones. They sound much worst and "tinny" then the standard earphones that come with the S2. Even if these earphones are cheap, at least the sound is acceptable.
If I plug the output of the S2 into my car stereo, I again have terrible sound. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that the stock S2 earphones have 4 contacts on the jackplug as compared to 3 on normal jackplugs. The extra contact, I presume, is to permit the switch for fast forward to work on the headphones.
I can't understand why other people don't have this problem - and yes the jack plug is pushed right in.
Yep, pretty sure, the jack is down entirely and still not working.
I tried with the SE X10 headset and normal stereo headphones
I think i will have to stick with the bluetooth if i can't find an adapter of some sorts.
Hi,
I love my SGII but im not happy with the sound quality when playing media using the 3.55mm jack. I connect the phone to my car speakers and the sound is very uneven. It goes up and down in volume and density. The sound is great though when using inbuilt speakers or through Bluetooth headset. Anyone else with this problem? I know the Carconnection is ok, cause sound is even and clear when using other phones. Any advice is appriciated.
Sry for bad english
Have you tried earphones or other headphones ? It might be your cable
Hi,
I have connected other phones with that cable to test it, and it works fine im afraid (HTC Desire, HTC Legend).
I had the same problem with my cheap earphones i had for my xperia x10 - if there is a small button that you can press, hold it down to see if that improves the quality... It did for me.
Hey Guys,
First of all, I'm not sure I'm posting under the right thread, please do let me know if it isn't!
I recently flashed Carbon 4.4.2 on a Xperia ray, and it is awesome :good: !
My issues are with audio. Connecting my headset (Sol Republic Master Tracks) without ANY audio playing, I hear periodic muffled thuds, almost as if the ray has a pulse
While playing audio, the sounds cease and am able to hear the music, but the quality is quite terrible.
The controls on this headset are made to work with iDevices, the volume controls do not work.I find that pressing and holding the call accept/disconnect button on the headset solves this issue!
The muffled sounds too are no more, with no audio and the button pressed. However, this is quite a nuisance as you can imagine!
I faced the same issue with LXP as well, had changed ROMs hoping to solve this, but in vain!
Thoughts!?
i am sure that the audio socket of your devices is incompatible to the audio jack of your headphones, you can try to use some audio jack with this

Ah, thank you for your input!
I've no idea what to look for, though. Is there a 3.5 mm to 3.5mm jack or something?
I'm still lost.
Anybody, anything?
deleted.
No, no software problem. 2011 Xperias uses OMTP connector, while iDevices and others uses CTIA connector. CTIA is new standard, OMTP is old. You can buy OMTP > CTIA converter to use your headset. Check accessories thread for something similar

At first I was happy about it, but now I know it better - when I try to play music it comes out oft my phone speakers instead of my headphones. Can somebody help me? It's the latest build. That means that my Headphones are not supported?
Sony or Apple in-ear are working. Should I buy a cable without buttons and without a microphone?

Oh, sorry, my fault. I thought it's a bluetooth headset... So if it's a cable headphone then there is possibility that the jack has different layout than the sony headsets.
Or the other possibility is that because of something the jack plug is can't be connected (this could happen because of the root of the jack is too bulky)
Up
Also for me.. :S no one knows how to fix it?

Before, on Stock ICS and Gimly Firmware (based on ICS), it worked. But than there was a massage saying 'Microphone and buttons are not supported.' or something like this. But it worked!
I bought a new cable without buttons and without a microphone, now my headphones are working! How can I fix it, that I can listen to musik via the original Beats cable? My new cable looks ugly
