So there is PA out and everybody is happily mulling around on their dpi and ui settings.
BUT!!!
Real hd apps don't show their hd capability to PA: tweetcaster, friendcaster, tapatalk, Facebook...
They all just show their phone ui.
So how about changing that?
It's no use a tablet mode with phone apps in my opinion.
How do apps decide which res to run?
Our are the tablet and phone apks totally different on the play store?

I'm so confused. I upgraded from the Huawei X5 and some of the apps I was playing that like Backbreaker are not compatible in the play store. Has anyone seen this with other apps? Is there a way around this without rooting and installing something else? I have paid for these apps and yet so many of them are not able to be played on this far superior device. Seems a little backwards.
Some apps are essentially too crap for your device.
Where as some apps will be scalable in that buttons, backgrounds etc are coded repeatable patterns, others may all be using pngs.
Where some pngs will be scalable if coded in such a way, not all can be so some apps simply cannot function on your HD display.
Talk to the devs of your apps and request support for your device

That should start you off, there are plenty others

I have around 140 Google Play Apps on my N7100.
How many Google Apps do other members of this forum have on their N7100 ?
How many are more than enough ?
What are the disadvantages of installing too many Google Apps ?
Do less number of Google Apps improve the performance of N7100 ?
I have 90 apps
Advantage of having more is that you get to have more. I guess the disadvantage is that they take up space in your internal memory?
Many apps in and of themselves shouldn't decrease performance or make your system slow, unless many of them run in the background and hog up your system resources.

ATM I have only 30. Usually I use 75+ apps but that's more than enough. But more apps mean more chance of malware and crap apps. I always stick with Top Dev/Editiors choice apps.
I have about 200 at the moment and haven't noticed any kind of decrease in performance
I've got about 107, which is pretty low for me, but I have several devices running different apps and what i have on my phone is specific and not duplicated by other apps (I.e. I have Chrome and not Chrome + Dolphin + Opera + boat browser + Firefox. ...).
I monitor apps that run as services all the time and either replace them out manage them strictly.

I am using stock ROM & JB 4.1.1 in my S3 GT I9300. But it sucks & working slow. Its taking 5 to 7 sec to open contacts & messages. When i use any app like i play game than after exit from app menu icons are also taking some seconds to come. Menu opening is also taking time.. all this sucks alot.Give any solution.
1) Factory reset
2) Root it and try custom rom
3) Sell it and get something else.

I'd suggest doing a factory reset also.
for contacts and texting, replace the stock apps (that indeed are a bit slow) by something else. I might suggest GO SMS pro for texting and exDialer for dialling and contacts. They are way faster (and on some points do sport more functionalities than the stock ones).
Now, for the redrawing of the desktop. The reason icons need to re-appear after you leave a game is that the phone did make more room for this game in memory by closing all the other apps, including the launcher. Therefore it needs to restart it totally when you quit the game. It take time.
Again, you may decide to go with an alternative launcher (I use Apex, but many others are available) in which you can control the staying in memory of the desktop or you might be able to force the TW launcher to stay in memory even if other apps are running. In anycase, doing that will be at the detriment of the game (or other memory hungry apps) performances (they will have less memory). Your decision!
Check free RAM
Go to Settings->Application Manager. Swipe left/right to get to the Running tab. Check if the amount of free RAM (at the bottom) is too low. If so find which apps are using most RAM and try killing them.
Hi everybody,
I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent apps from closing on their own to release resources.
You see, I'm using firefox to play music on my phone, but when I navigate away from the app, a couple of minutes later it'll close on it's own. I don't want that.
I'd like to "whitelist" all apps that I don't want to be automatically closed by the system somehow.
I know it's possible because "Jkays Deluxe Settings" has this option, but only for some predefined apps.
Do you know any way that I could acheave what I want?
Thanks
Jkays deluxe settings lets you choose from a total of 14 apps to keep whitelisted and they can be anything you want. Install the framework, buy the app.
The app isn't available in my country unfortunately.
Are there any alternatives to Deluxe Settings that offer this functionality and are possibly free?
