So when I try to install vlc media player to my phone it always comes back as not available in my region. Does anyone know where to find an .apk package for the full fledged media player so I can stop needing to convert certain files.

Perhaps you could contact the developer for some direct support ??
Also ...you may want to do a general search in the themes and apps section, as this may yield some results as well ...
Good luck in your search ....g

which sites requires you to have xvid support?
usually its flash that is needed for most things.
share your info
I was trying this today and was going to ask the same question..
There's an option to register ur device to be divx certified so u can play divx protected movies on ur phone (divx n xvid are pretty much the same thing) but even after registering, I havent been able to find a way to play xvid in the browser...

I'm not sure this is what you look for but a search in the forum gives the next result.

Nope that's not it. I really don't think this plug in/app exists. Shame really. Would be awesome.

Sorry, I wasn't notified of activity here.
I cannot think of a specific site at the moment but it would be nice to be able to download & view divx files without being told file not supported & it doesn't even download the file.

No device can play flash videos (online) without flash (or atleast flashlite) either installed or preinstalled in the rom. Some media players can play it offline though (e.g. Moboplayer).
i have flash on the motorola milestone and the archos 70 internet tablet but flash movies are slow to view , the sound works fine But the picture is almost a standstill in slow motion
Title says it all.thanks.

Have you tried Jetvd, that's what I use. Hasn't been available in the market for a while but google-able.

Tubemate, using on CM9 without a problem.
MoPhoACTV Initiative
Maybe try using a user script (usersscripts.org) which allows you to download the video, possibly also the audio track? These are snippets of Javascript which inject themselves into specific sites when you're viewing them. I use one named "YouTube to MP4" on Firefox on my desktop PC. Since the Android browsers are fully functional I expect the same option applies there.
For this option, Firefox requires Greasemonkey addon, but I believe it's a native option on Opera and Chrome.
Also try tubeGod(tubex) its no longer in the market so you have to search for it(its free so no problems)
Much better quality than tubemate imo and mp3s dont come as large as tubemate either
I extracted the audio from a video a few days ago
Tubemate(17mb)
TubeGod(1mb)

Tubemate's file size is big because it downloads the whole MP4 video and renames it as MP3.

Hey guys. Im not exactly sure if this is the right forum i'm posting. Please move this thread to where it belongs when im wrong.
I need the stock music apk from cm9 nightly.
Not that one with blue headphones. Not the google one with orange headphone.
Im looking for that music app with the blue speaker icon. I think it might be the stock froyo or gingerbread music app, but im not sure about it.
I looked also on xda and found threads about it, but there werent any answers or i found dead links.
The major thing i want this app is because it has features wich i miss on google music or ics music player.
Eg. I click on interpret and it shows me the ablum. On the player i am looking for besides the album title, the amount of titles it has was shown. I never saw that on any other player again.
And the most important thing im missing on all other players is the ability to put music to actual playlist. I dont k ow how to translate that in to proper english but i hope you understand what i mean.
When i click on "put to playlist" only with the old player i get the "actual playlist" thing. I dont need to savy any playlist, i only put them n line with other songs im already listen to.
I messed up my old nand backup because i thaught i saved that file with titanium b.
I cant find also any older cm9 nightlies. And all i found is that new ics player.
I would be greatly thankful if anybody has that file or give me a link or sth.
Or if you can tell me how i use these features with the new ics player.
Thanks for reading and helping.

The stock music app has an internet radio that has ART BELL shows that I love. I have the Nexus 7 tablet and would love to transfer the music app to the Nexus. I am running titaniun backup on my Atrix. Does anyone know the name of the file in tittanium backup or perhaps someone has the origional music apk?
thanks
Stock music app on the Atrix relies on blur framework files and aren't on other devices. Look for Shoutcast in the market. I think it is even bundled in with Winamp. There is another apk I have found from various online sources which has it bundled. Google connected music player apk. Good luck, hope it helps.
