yes i flashed it because my xps was running cm9 fine but when i install/upgrade my cwm recovery it stocks from booting of free xperia logo..then when i go to recovery thats the error..looks like the sd card cant mount on my xps because i cant see/browse application on my internal memory/sd card now..many threads on this site same with my problem but for them their sd card can be take out then they will put it to another cp to format it but in my case m sd card was built-in..pls help

since you have a cm9 before, have you tried to install the upgrade just like what you did when you installed cm9 (from scratch/stock)?
flash the latest cm9 then flash the kernel that came up with the zip. just dont forget to mount your system when you reformat your system before flash.

Problem installing new rom

Hi first I want to say that i'm not a noob, I already rooted my streak, installed streakdroid, power rom and longhorn 2.2 (currently using). my problem is, I want to update to longhorn 2.5, so I downloaded the zip put it on root of sd, reboot in recovery, update from zip and the setup stop right after the ''opening package'' and I get back to the top menu in recovery. I tried with an other rom and I still have the same problem... any idea on what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
pull the SD card and mount in a PC card adapter and do a scandisk on it.
Reflash streakmod recovery
try another recovery. i wonder what yo did to install longhorn 2.2?

actually that's the reason of my question, I flashed several rom and now I can't... weird.. but I'll try scanning my SD
Did the scan nothing has changed...
It may be that you need to copy all of the contents of your SD card to another location (backup) then re-Format the SD card. after it is reformatted, copy back the files and try again. I have had to Format my SD card a few times to keep it running smoothly.
yeah well i'm really stock right now I flashed my sd and even tried on an other one and it still doesn't work... it still stop after the opening package..
if it can help I filmed the steps from recovery to show where it freeze. and yes the screen is reversed but you can clearly see that it does not upgrade to longhorn 2.5 (a the end you see that i'm still on 2.2 v1)
http://youtu.be/SvpG1SKhE40
Whats your ROM version?
I have tryed to run Longhorn 2.5 under ROM 406 but it doesnt started up even after factory reset ... so I flashed it to 407 and wiped dalvik cash, reflashed Longhorn and it works pretty fine
Or
You might use Streakflesh to fully flash your device to the standart ROM as it was before, and then download ROM 407, amss and dsp files, and flash them using fastboot.
Well its all what i have done to get my streak work with Longhorn 2.5 hope it will help u2

ps: thanks for also answering my last resort thread
ok I'm really stock... downgraded to original rom on 2.2.1 re-did everything after the opening package nothing works... is it possible to install a costum rom with fasboot only?

Finally I ended up being able to flash a custom rom again. I did a factory recovery and get back to rogers android 2.2 FW, flashed streakmod and installed olleh, did a factory reset from phone menu, put custom rom on sd, reflashed streakmod along with amss dsp1 and finally update from zip on sd in recovery and voila it worked.. weird but anyway I'm happy it's working now!
thanks to all for you help! and an awesome thanks to Rocker19943!!

Hi,
I have an issue installing Longhorn 2.8.
My knowledge is limited to use of flashboot, and installing 407 Olleh.
I have this Olleh, and then installed Streakmod recovery (0.3.8), rooted with superuser.zip, made nandroid backups, and tried to follow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355878
(where I can't post...)
what I get is: [
(...)
Opening update package Longhorn_2.8.zip
E: Can't open /sdcard/Longhorn_2.8.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
]
I tried "wipe data/ factory reset", also the factory reset (after a reboot), wipe cache partition, wipe dalbik cache, fixed premissions
still the same result
Could it be due to limited space (200MB) left on SD card (4GB size)?
in this case how do I remove old nandroid backups?
thanks

p.s. The bootlocker is also locked.

This is a fix only for who is installing custom ROMs without custom kernel. To install recovery, search for it.

Can't mount CACHE/recovery/log
then after flashing your zips phone stuck reboting at logo sony, so I have to start from zero, do you know why have that ocurred, is it because wiping cache?

for the xperia sspeed rom for example, you can also use the stock kernel, but why can't i use it for cm10?
That's a stock based rom so you can use the stock kernel. Whereas CM10 is AOSP based so many things in the Kernel are different for example Wi-Fi modules as well as other things

you probably have a bad recovery. use this guide to flash a new recovery, or go back to stock and reflash (if you so desire)
if you already know how to flash stuff, i recommend this version of CWM to flash before flashing some other ROM.
remember not to go back to the version of CWM that I linked after flashing a ROM
ill try that thanks
cwm installs fine still not mounting but in cwm sd will mount but when i try to flash gos in a loop (waiting for sd to mount) any ideas dont know if phone was rooted be for think someone tried to

Trouble caused from CM11 installation failure

Dear everyone,
I tried to install CM11 in CWM recovery page yesterday, but the installation was failed.
I didn't backup accidentally, then I couldn't restore my current ROM.
Now each time I power on the device, the CWM recovery page automatically shows up and I cannot get into android.
even if I hold the power button, it will only show the CWM recovery page to me and it cannot be turned off.
I tried to reinstall the stock OS by using Odin, but I seems my computer cannot detect my phone.
I did try also on my friends' computer, but It doesn't work out.
Is there still any way I can revive my phone?
It will be the most grateful if anyone can save my phone.

I will try to grab one!
The Stock Android package has got one MD5 file and one dll file inside.
Is it alright to install it on the recovery page?
Just take the zip file of the rom to the sd card ( cm11 i suppose ?? ) and then flash it via the recovery, also don't forget to flash the gapps

The stock rom it's only flashable by odin dude. For flash a rom in recovery it have to be in zip form.
To be more precise :
1. Download the rom you want, cm11 for example (zip file) and the gapps
2. Move it to your external or internal sd card of your phone
3. Go to the recovery and wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache
4. Then install zip from sd card and select the file of the rom you've downloaded before
5. Reboot
Then all should went fine for you :good:
PS : If you go to a bootloop simply remake all this steps

Yes, it's a zip with a MD5 inside. Is it the right form of ROM to be flashed in Recovery mode?
