Hello
So I have a galaxy s3. My little brother happened to use my phone when he had ball point pen smudges on his hand. So now there are smudges on the back cover. I tried removing it by putting a drop or two of water and even nail polish remover but it didn't work. It just lightened it. Anyone know if there is a solution for this kind of thing?
Thanks!

If it bothers you buy a new backcover or better yet a descent case mate

Hey all.
I recently got my x 10 and after reading these forums assumed the screen came with a protector on it. I checked it when I got it and it looks like it has one. But after trying to remove it am starting to think its just the outline of the reflective/shiny surface. If anyone can confirm that it is a protector that would be great.
Anyways I seem to some how of gotten a light scratch on my screen. Its very light but enough to get the rainbow effect and be annoying. Does anyone know of a scratch removal solution that is safe to use on the x 10 screen.
Look forward to hearing back.
Regards,
Dylan

I can confirm that there's a screen-protector on the X10 from the fabric, removed it myself, just be a bit rough with it
Have done some research and it seems novus plastic polish is the way to go. Has anyone used this before and know of it will be ok for use on the x10 shiny screen??

Thought i should just add.. the pree applied protector is quite hard to peel of.. once you get it going it it's soon done but it's hard to make that first corner let go and you have to pull it quite hard to rip it of. but it should not leave any uggly marks or rests. did not leave any for me atleast (i removed mine couse i messed up and made a huge mark in it)
Hey. Thanks for the replies. Just a little worried about trying to get it off if its not really the screen protector lol.

Did you ever give it a go? I have a couple of scratches on mine and would love to get them off. Have heard talk of white toothpaste being valuable of phone screens but I'm a little hesitant about that...
I removed the pre applied film and have never scratched the screen.

Can anyone tell me how durable the screen is from scratching? nd I heard that the protection was there to prevent it from screen shattering on a drop is that true?

A thin piece of film will not stop the glass from shattering, its not like the film car windows use. I've been using my x10 with no film and all is fine.

How easily can the screen be scratched without the film?

My daughter and I both have x10's. I've dropped my phone several times on ceramic tiles without issues. She on the other hand often drops hers on concrete and keeps it with keys in a tight fit since she doesn't use a purse and just shoves the phone into her jeans. She has pitting and scratches.
It's mineral glass similar to that on a good watch.

I've dropped mine repeatedly, and dont have a single scratch, i do however have a crack at the bottom of the screen, but that took my 78 kg on top of the phone and a metal button to do, plus falling :/
How to remove a screen protector
Well the easiest way to do it would be to use a piece of scotch-tape.
If you apply the scotch-tape to one of your protectors corners, it should be fairly easy to peel it off...
Felt pretty stupid when i found out that I have 2 protector s on. The stock and the spare one supplied but I've let them on as my 4 year old plays on it often.

im very tempted to remove it but dont think i will. i have horrible luck with touch screen phones lol
i broke my previous iphone screen 3 times.
Wow thanks guys this is amazing. I have had my x10 since may 2010 and I only just found out it has a screen protector. I have taken it off and now all the annoying surface scratches has gone.
Thanks!!!!!!

No way... When I got the phone there was an obvious cover stick on the phone which I assumed was the screen protector and thought how bad it was and removed it straight away. I just realised that that wasn't it and I still have one on there. Man that's a fantastic protector, I didn't even know it was there..! Brilliant!
I have found a residue about the size of a quarter on the bottom right side of my screen. I have tried removing it without success does anyone have any ideas on what this could be and the best way to remove it? This isn't a screen protector glue it literally appeared out of no where and creates a ruffness to the screen but it has no signs of scratches anywhere on there.

Have you tried using a rubbing alcohol or lense cleaning wipe? Did you put your phone near anything that may have spilled on it or left of unattended near untrustworthy folk?

Yes I tried rubbing alcohol and no and no

is it melted,? sounds stuiped I know. but my wife left a curling iron by her phone....
Try Goo Gone
Have you tried acetone? I'm not sure it'd be safe to use on the phone but you might try a q-tip on a small patch to see if it makes a difference? I find acetone usually works in times when alcohol doesnt. Just be careful.
I think I will take it in to the att store today Ans see I'd they can help at all.

Thisis now starting to effect the use of my device when typing and scrolling the touch of my finger is not always picked up.

When I need to remove residue - such as from tape or stickers, either denatured alcohol or paint thinner will work. Where one doesn't work, the other will. Forget rubbing alcohol, most of that stuff is heavily watered down, usually by 25%.
Here's a tip, not phone related. Ever get gasoline on your hands and notice that washing with soap and water won't make the smell go away? Use a little paint thinner first, rub it all over your hands. Then use soap and water. There won't be a trace of odor left.
No offense, but the last thing you should be doing, is using chemicals of any kind. The phone has a warranty, so let AT&T handle it. The last thing you want, is chemical damage on your Note.

Hello, I've found a magnet case on eBay and I wonder if it's safe to use it on the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, or the magnet can damage anything in the tablet? I've liked the case because it's really slim, and seems well built.
Thank you,
Alexandre.

I use this one posted in an earlier post www.amazon.com/MoKo-Samsung-Galaxy-Elastic-MicroSD/dp/B0083OYIBW/ and it has magnets. So far no issues.

Can't see why not , i use one on my phone and never had any issues with it. Obviously if you look after your device and don't knock it around you should be good.
Hahaha Yeah, I'm really careful with my stuff =) I thought about that because I remembered that on the past you could mess with some TVs by putting a magnet near to it. But if it's safe with a tablet, great =D
Thanks!

Magnets normally only hammer tubes. LCD is pretty good to go unless you (like I did) put a chair leg through it. Worst feeling in the world. And let me add that replacing a digitizer sux big time. tiny connectors waiting to be broken. :banghead:

My poetic folio style case has magnets to hold the cover closed and I haven't noticed any problems
Covers with magnets don't have any immediate effect. but due to constant hammering on the tab it may create problems later on. so in my opinion y to take risk when u can get better covers
magnets will do no harm.
Ya i m using.

No more than the "constant hammering" your fingers do to the screen
Hey Guys, I recently bought the clear protector for my phone and I really liked the quality of the product. I have to peel it off 3 times as I had to return my phone! reapplying it after removing it so many times didn't affected the adhesive at least in my case! I am really impressed! yeah! You need soapy water solution to apply! Also, it can go without the solution, but once it sticks to the phone..... it will be hard for you to align it!
Hello all,
Wanted to share this fix, i have not seen this here or anywhere else about removing hair and crap from the sticky tempered glass section.
I even called SPG about a fix. they told me i could send it in and buy another at a discount. yea ok...
Fix:
so i ended up running warm water over it,rubbed it with my fingures to remove the hair.
Then i shook it around to remove most of the water.
then i just placed the glass back on and squeegeed the water out. there were some bubbles, but after it rest for a bit i was able to squeegee it again and it was fine.
so this has worked for me and a friend without having to return it and get a new one.
hope this helps
Dino
