I rooted my LG Viper, having problems with the Play Store, now the only option I haven't done was flash the GAPPS package...... There isn't a custom recovery for this phone yet, & can't to find a way to unlock the bootloader either.
Was wondering would someone know a way I could install the GAPPS package on my phone without causing anymore problems?
A recovery is built! flash it download the latest gapps flashable zip, reboot into recovery go to mounts in recovery, mount system, go back to install zip find the gapps package wherever you downloaded it to the sd card choose it flash it and reboot. Let me know how it works out for ya!

-downloader rom manager and flashed cwm but anytime i turn off the phone and boot into recovery it shows a exclamation point if i dont flash cwm and do recovery through rom manager and i have to flash cwm from rom manager everytime i need to go into recovery which i know is not right.
- do i need to flash Cyan 5.0.2.3-atrix4.1 / ZIP version. to have a recovery so i can do back ups?
- and also i just downloaded the cm7 zip, do i unzip on my sd card copy to internal or just throw the zip on and copy?
-when i was able to get in to recovery after flashing cwm the beta.zip does not show in the internal or the sd card since it copied to both so im not sure if i need to flash that recovery i posted above to see the zip or not? if you could help answer these i would appreciate it.

ok youve got a lot going on there
first things first. CM7 changes the storage locations for the SD cards so thats why you cant see those
the reason cm7 isn't booting is because you were using the wrong recovery. you need to fast boot flash romracers latest recoverhy for that to work.
that should also fix hour disappearing recovery problem,
id reccomend using a fruitcake to get back to stock and starting over
ok so i have only unlocked the bootloader nothing else im trying to get a recovery so i can actually put the cm7 zip in so i can flash to recovery. so i should flash rom racers recovery? and then do i flash cwm after i have the recovery, because the cm7 directions say too do so. i sincerely appreciate you helping me

Q: How do I install this?
A:
Latest version: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2 (for when nightlies are working normally)
Check the md5sum if you want to be sure that the download worked (different OSes have different programs that do md5, on ubuntu it is md5sum that you run against the zip you download and compare to the md5sum number shown on the download website). ROMManager does this automatically for ROMs you download via ROMManager.
- First time flashing CM 7 to your Galaxy S2 (or coming from another ROM)?
Only for the International version of the Galaxy S2, US versions like the AT&T have their own device specific builds.
Note: sometimes you need to flash twice back to back without a reboot in the middle. The install should take a little time, if it happens very quickly, flash again.
Install via ClockworkMod (do not use ROMManager for initial install):
Make sure you're running a rooted device.
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693)
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) - do it for real.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery.
Do not reboot! We mean it - do nothing except choose zip and continue next step (if you come back to us with permission issues in install, we will know you did not read the directions and will call you an idiot). If it just plain hangs, reboot directly back into ClockworkMod recovery and continue at the next step.
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery, again (due to a bug in the install).
Reboot
Install the Google Addon through ROMManager which is easiest, but you can
download the gapps.zip and install via ClockworkMod recovery instead.

Hello people,
3 days now i am trying to boot CM11(4.4 kitkat) to my sgs3 international. I am using Rom manager to flash Clockworkmod recovery and then i boot this zip file : cm-11-20131129-UNOFFICIAL-i9300-V12.zip
The installation is perfect and after that i am flashing the google app zip file and then i get a message: installation aborted.
I though that may the zip file has something wrong so i downloaded some other ones ( 4 others) but every time i have the same message without specialized error (ex error 7)
When i reboot my phone is perfect runing kitkat but with no access to any google app not even to play store so it is impossible to synch it and use it.
Pleaaase Help me
Thank you!

are the gapps the latest ones?
It sounds like CWM problem (are you sure that you have the latetst version?)
anyway I can describe what how I did it (actually this weekend) and I'm very pleased with the result
download Temasek CM11 v12 zip
download 11-26_GApps_Standard_4.4_signed zip
I also needed the camera fix from here
download boeffla kernel that in used with the appropriate app can do significant tweaks (personally I'm interested in power saving) from here
Steps:
1) Recovery mode
2) wipe system data, cache, dalvik cache
3) install ROM
4) install Gapps
4.5) might not need camera fix...can do it afterwards without any wiping
5) install kernel
6) can do wipe once more. Don't think it matters but have seen it in Youtude
7) reboot
good luck
reboot
Update CWM to version 6.0.4.5. Alternatively, use Philz Touch by Phil3759. His link is...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002953
Latest version is 6.00.8
Then get Gapps (for 4.4) from here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Don't forget the usual wipes - just for good hygiene.
Hope it helps. :good:
So A few days ago tried to install costume ROM on my LG Optimus G. And guess what I bricked it. Now it I do it one more time I am left with on phone. So now I came up with what I am going to do. Please if someone did this already warn me about any error that might occur and how to fix them. Mainly how to unlock the bootloader
1) Download app freeGee
2)install clockworkrecovery
2.1) try to boot into the phone if Fails try to flash LGNPST teeny beans.
2.2) cry and post on the forum for help( I know there is an other way but I hard brick it last time using that method )
3)download and save to SD card the PAC man mod (If there is a better one please tell me )
4)Erase the Internal Storage
5)Erase the cache
5) Flash the new ROM
6) Flash GApps
7) I hope I am done
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946
That's the method I used from stock software. I used the mako method to unlock boot loader via freegee app. Also I installed twrp instead of cwm.

Simple an easy solution is :
1.Connect phone is download mode.
2.Load necessary files and drivers , prior to connecting.
3.Flash the AtlBins/TeenyBins on your phone.
4.Let it complete.
5.It'll either stuck in a bootloop with AT&T logo , or will Go straight to Recovery which was installed as an additional benefit of TeenyBins. If OriginalBins don't work then tr AltBins. Mine worked with AtlBins.
6.Goto recovery and wipe out everything : /System , /Data , /Cache. ( as per your requirements.)
7.Now place the Custom rom on your SDCard along with SUBinary and recommended GApps package.
8.Flash them in queue.
9.Reboot. ( Wipe cache/dalvik if necessary ).
Pretty easy.
THis should usually work.
I have an S4 with CM10.2 which was done through the CM installer.
Unlike traditional rooting, cyanogen installer roots and installs the cm Rom in a few clicks automatically.
This new method leads me to believe that I must unroot to stock and root manually in order to use a different ROM.?
Or can I go ahead and download a rom, put it in the sd card, boot into the thing, and flash the ROM?
I'm trying to flash foxhound ROM.
Need an answer guys, it's not on Google.
Bumping this.
I don't have an s4 nor have I ever used a oneclickrootmeapp but to my understanding on how the cyanogen installer works is that it flashes clockwork recovery and cyanogenmod + kernel to your device
So I would say 99% sure that no you don't need to do anything special here, steps I would take
Download ROM of choice + gapps or any extras needed
Check md4sums for match
Put on SD
Boot to recovery
Do a nandroid backup
Wipe everything but SD
Flash ROM and whatever else needed
Reboot
And all should be just fine
