ok, here is the actual link for the install instructions. make sure you read them carefully and understand them first, before actually doing the flashing.

Hey guys.I need help to make a custom kernel for s5830i so that Cyanogen Mod 7.2 can be runned for this device.CM is ported at some stage but it has many bugs.Is there anyone who can help with this?Need a stable kernel.

You can use either, I personally prefer using odin, I find it having less chances of acting funny...recoveries can sometimes act buggy especially CWM..but its upto you...
