This is a thread dedicated to only Xperia S timescape for sony ics roms.
The screenshots are like any xperia s timescape screenshots, if you like to post up some for me, i give u a hug, really.
Btw this is a flashable zip.
There's V2, please try.
Please note the new Xperia home Is included, or else the widgets won't work with the old launcher I think...
There are some differences with all the Eventstream.apk around here and I'm not sure which works with who's phone, I'm just going to post those that don't work with mine...
Timescape is quite temperamental and you have to use it on a you win some, you lose some basis, some of the widgets work, some of the widgets dont. also it may be dependent that you MUST HAVE FACEBOOK installed for some of the stuff to work, honestly i don't like the facebook app cos it's 4mb but I'm gonna attach it here anyways, try adding it to your zip before flashing (i use 7-zip)
It may also need the new music app (xperia s) which you can search in the themes and apps forum.
Update: 3:59PM 21/09/12
The TimescapeV2 is for Gingerbread roms, on gingerbread i tried it does not seem to force close
The V3 will be for ICS
If some widgets force close it will mean 2 things, another app is missing, or the app is for the wrong android version, or simply doesn't work.
You may notice differences in backgrounds if your rom's DefaultThemes.apk is different. (the default looks like a still version of cosmic-flow)
No screenie??? but if I flash dis on RealICS r5.2, will it work cos I try flash a Timescape but no result......
i flashed this but it gave me error of instillation abort!
Installation aborted
Hmm. let me investigate.
even i have problems, now its force closing for me, you can try copy all these apps into /system/app of your rom.zip with 7 zip b4 flashing, i will try to make someth...

I have installed your last update of Timescape but it still doesn't work brother. I get force close in music & videos and Timescape app
I will thank you so much if you can fix it :highfive:
I don't know how fix the issue, i think it works b4 i sync with google. after that it force closes...
is it working on 2.3.7?
this one for ics, tho you can try. the problem is i can use the widgets but not the app itself.
I found out this zip works very well on gingerbread... And never force close on it while it does on ics... ( Timescape app/Timescapespline.apk) will make some zips asap for you guys to test... 00:45 here...

as I am new to the scene I cannot write in the dev area, where CM7.1 is beeing discussed on SE Xperia mini/pro Sk17i.
I tested it yesterday and found it awesome!
Really great, but as already mentioned in the dev thread there are still too many issues that make working with it not really nice.
The not working keyboard is the most disturbing thing for me, as using the onscreen keys is way too small to write longer text.
If at least that was fixed I would flash it back on the device. Probably I can check some issues, as I am on gentoo linux for years and have a look on what dmesg tells.. pretty long error list so far
Okay guys, keep on working! I am really looking forward to using this cutting edge firmware! Great!
I'm also waiting for keypad to work then it'll be great
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
I find the stock firmware pretty great, personally. The only thing that lets it down for me is the app drawer and the inability to delete/hide the pre-installed apps, so I'm using LauncherPro now.
It's a shame I can't just use the LauncherPro app drawer and keep the default UI
as I always use to tweak all my systems, pc, netbook etc. nobody can understand that I really love the design, the arc launcher of my sk17i. But I do. You are right, that the app drawer becomes a little bit blown up at a while. But if your device is rooted you can delete the desired apps from the system and wipe you dalvik cache to make them disappear. This method was just caught up while surfing, not yet tried. I might use root explorer to determine the position of these apps. If you use the recovery menu to backup your system you can always restore the previous state. This recovery method covers every data.
I personally will make myself an overview of the various launchers and drawers available. Probably I will give cm a chance if it becomes stable and I know a good way to sort my apps.
Important for me is a tidy desktop and drawer and the access at least a certain amount of apps at my fingertips, just like arc sorts 16 apps in 4 corners - this is really great in my opinion!

I share your pain. I love the default homescreen, but the appdrawer is really damn annoying. If you set your drawer to 'Most used' then the stock apps eventually get burried away in the last few pages.

Yeah, it's super annoying we can't uninstall stock apps... You can do the custom sort and drag them all to the end, too.
You can hide the apps icons and data by using titanium backup and freezing them, then if you want to use them, just unfreeze

Titanium backup needs root... If I root my phone, then I'm just straight up uninstalling those apps.
Why don't you guys use the folders and corners on the device?
I put all the games and applications in those, and only use the drawer for getting to new apps(which i then drag out the the folders/corners) and just have it set to "recently installed" organisation.
Imo, the modification of android SE did is just about perfectly made for a phone of this size.
I have to agree with the folders, once you use them you rarely need the app drawer. All we need now is root so we can do some serious cleaning... or unlock the bootloader...
i realy want to cyanogenmodders relase ofiicial xperi mini cm7
So do I, but it's probably not going to happen. We'll just have to deal with unofficial ports. Hopefully some people in the Dev section on here know how to fix all our device's little quirks.

I am currently uploading it to my server where it should stay as long as needed or something new can be done. It is my nightly from yesterday.
Difference to the prior one is that wifi works now.
They keyboard does as well but with weird placement, though I set it to qwertz German layout. The backlight of the keys don't work either.
Camera isn't still fixed in the source thus still broken.
Installation hint in the text file, I forgot to mention the gapps you'll need to load.
I got up them, too if necessary.
remember:
while I am writing this post the upload is still in progress. Immediate download could lead to an incomplete file.
If you are on windos you can deflate tar.gz with winrar or 7z

I reloaded it myself with success.
flash kernel boot.img with fastboot.
Boot into Recovery by keeping pushing the power key.
wipe data & factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik-cache.
Install the cm*.zip and gapps*.zip.
Tried it just a few seconds ago again.
Here it works.
unlocked & rooted sk17i aka mango on cm71

No i did ask permission from any devloper if u feel this not notgood i do so sorry for that my work
Bill this thread will be close any moment AF see this as you need to ask developer permission. You should ask permission first THATS THE RULES. Your rom is lovely btw.

Really i didnot now that before post this roms we need developer premmisson now what i can i do
just like master firdausmboin rom. cakepan punya master .... ai cinta remikan indonesia
The only thing to do is ask permission to dx if you used gdx and xperianfan if for gx. They are nice so just ask them. In that case this thread will be legal and ya your rom shouldnt have paid apps in it.
Firdaus rom was closed coz of paid apps installed in it, even firdaus admitted it and even put a note. Thats also the rule. No paid apps.

Decent Rom,, But Man first of all you didn't thank the dev's,, you didnt ask for their permission,,, you didnt give credit to the creators,,, so do that asap or your this thread might be closed pretty soon
Nononono
what he realy need to editing the first page to tell everybody what he's using, from whom he using the feature, who goes the credit.
Nowadays is really hard to make a new rom without using anothers project so its more wiser to for whoever create this rom to add the developers who create those feature
in fact, im not downloading this
I'll gonna try this one.
Dude, I love the look of this ROM but you really need to ask permission from the devs man. And that you are based on who's ROM.

Nice rom but bug for me. No GSM and can not read sim card. How to fix bug!
I've sent a Pm to OP for asking permissions to original developers and give proper credits.
Since i have had some problems with people unhappy with my closing rom threads, i've decided to give him a couple of days max to fix this issue, otherwise i will close it.
Good!, so far looks very nice (for me), I never tought I would enjoy a WP7 look on my phone, Issues? well:
Gmail didn't work right out-of-the box, had to reinstall it
Music widget didn't work either (guess what? no music player included!)
Google Googles does not work
No file manager included (not a big deal, I prefer astro, while others include a different one)
Pros:
stable so far, except google googles, no fc's (yet)
just installed on top of my kuya and my data is still here, great!
A VERY different look and feel which, for me, is refreshing, heaven nows how long til I get bored hahaha
I love the Xperia logo at boot (cant's say the same to the sound, which I find kind of annoying though)

First of all I know there is a thread for feed back of new ICS fw,but instead bug reporting that thread contains more pleas, hatred towards Sony doubt devs from Sony will keep on reading it.
So in this thread please post the bugs you've found so far with the fw.So we can direct this to Sony devs & if they care(they did asked opinions, bug reposrts about fw in Sony forums so I assume they do care) they will try to fix them
So I'll start
+.Very choppy video recording.
+.Big battery drains
+.Loads of older games crash after 30 seconds
+.No wifi direct
+.System is kinda slow and lag comparing to ginger bread
+.Not great ram management, phone sort of freezes when using more than few apps at the same time.
+.Home launcher lags comparing to ginger bread ones
+.It takes 3-4 seconds for Dialer to load :/
+.Didn't had face unlock after the update.Had to flash gapps to get it
+.Keyboard's keys are kinda smaller and not that easy to type
+.All the setted contact pictures are gone from contacts and only thumbnails are left :/
So far I've found.please post the bugs you found and help to get a better ICS fw
you will get face unlock when you open google play.
it's silently updating.
no need to flash gapps.

Games are rather matter of game developers not compatible with ICS I think.
this my problem :
1. Battery drain. If i used wifi, and switch it off...battery more faster decreased, have to reboot phone for make battery back to normal...
2. Dialer slow loading... am i used phone with 600Mhz???
I wonder, why there is no power notification widget in this update...
My issues:
A little battery drain, but ROM is recently installed so I will give time to stabilize.
Wifi is buggy. Takes ten minutes connecting one meter from the router. Wpa.
Any times takes half hour... And in other routers connects instantly.
Can be night elf kernel?
Notification led doesn't work for missed calls! I searched in the phone's menu but there is no option to enable it!

In GB there was an additional option to completely disable USB action. MTP/Mass storage + "Disable usb".
Browser kept crashing and crashing.
Problems with Google Picasa Web synchronization. The albums from my picasa account just don't appear when I want to upload new files. There's a problem with facebook-google accounts synchro.
Some apps shows 'segmentation error' when trying to move them to the phone (system apps2sd). Cleaning data, uninstalling and installing back doesn't help. Link2SD or other App2SD from the market does not help - a little strange problem, probably new installation could help
Sometimes app drawer seems laggy - in comparison to GB, which had quicker response
Poor memory management - GB seemed to run more user apps at the same time quite smoothly
That is all after one day of heavy exploring by my daugther
Hmm how its possible that the ics not running smooth by all??
Mine is ok, no lag in menu and homescreen scrolling (i use the xperia s home now) no lag when i open settings etc, app2sd is working fine on ics no problems (i use app2sd pro 2.50 the newest one) no camera problems no fc's or anything else, its all f*cking amezing and fast

When you install it as a clean install it is faster, but when u update it via pc companion or flash without flashing user data it tends to get slower. So best way to move to ICS(or any other rom in that manner) is to do a fresh clean install

This is true people. YOU HAVE TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL FOR IT TO WORK PROPERLY!
The first time I updated it, it was buggy as hell!
I then did a clean install (repair phone on pc companion) then it was smooth running since then. Memory management is amazing, no scroll lag, UI is great, multi tasking is better... I dont know about u guys but im likin it!
OT: is the UI on this is different drom nordic? It seems that they aee hating the UI but I see no fault on mine.

Official ICS Bug Report
Using this firmware for past 3 days now,
1. A little laggy Interface than GB, but using a third party Launcher fixes it till some extend.
2. Video recording quality is not as in GB. Also is choppy.
3. Gyroscope doesnt work in Maps. Checked with Compass Application works flawlessly, not in Maps.
I might switch back to GB soon...
Its not as if im not fond of ICS... But for me, its still a bit RAW. I really like the UI, functions, etc however its a bit buggy on the 3 main tasks wich I use my phone(Wifi, camera and temple run)... Untl these can be fixed, I thnk im staying with gb first. Btw, I find ics not to be laggy on its stock state however, once u install mods fr system ui and others, it kinda lags a bit. Too bad.

Hi there. Recently I transferred from KA10.2 to the latest build of CM9. I really like what I've seen so far as the phone feels eons faster than it was on even the modded but stock ics. However I really do miss the unique aesthetic features that Sony provided. These included apps such as the films app, the Sony widgets, the camera app (even though I found an alternative that's better, it'd still be nice to have that), maybe even the contacts app, messaging etc. I've tried extracting the apk from stock roms and installing them on my phone but they'd just say not installed and that's it. I figured that there's more to the apps than just the apk.
Could someone with more knowledge about how these apps work please tell me how to port these apps onto cm9? I'm juggling between speed/performance and eye candy, right now I'm sticking with performance but it'd be great to have the best of both worlds. Thanks
Try to copy the apps directly to /system/app, and then changing the permissions to 755
Thank
I have looked into this a little and unfortunately most of the Sony apps depend on the framework which is obviously not present in CM9. I got notes to work by simply restoring the titanium backup but I've not managed to get calendar or messaging (the other two I'd like) working

you can download ka sspeed rom and use the app files in it.. although most of the apps dont work but i found out what does
ALBUM works but without online photos... take it from the ka zip file and install it like any apk file
Calendar works but a bit buggy when syncing.. it doesnt install so u have to replace the calendar app in the system/apk and change permissions (make a backup just in case)
Infinite view works (copy the apk to system and change permissions)
Notes work as was said before

Starting with Honami Moonwalker is a good idea though. just rooted and installed it recently and it's smooth with minor problems. The instructions are clearly stated for both locked and unlocked bootloader, you'll never be wrong. lol.
Problems encountered include:
1. not functioning "show day" app. i removed it and replaced it with google calendar
2. after first reboot, xperia home would keep on force closing which also made the Gmail app disappear (weird). Flashed the latest xperia home included as an add on and it would fix the problem. also downloaded gmail again from the playstore.
I chose this because it supports locked bootloader, i have no plans to unlock mine until warranty is out.
@Pandemic good job on your rom sir, it's really great.
