So I am currently on rr 2.6.1 with Uhlph modem, because I live in Latin America (Central america, to be exact Honduras and tigo carrier) and I'm trying the best Módem for performance and battery life.
So I was wondering, if I can use a 4.0.3 modem with a 4.0.4 rom
I appreciate beforehand the help

If it is international version than you can use any modem dedicated to i9100. No matter it's gingerbread, ics or even jb dedicated. Eventually you should flash correct ril matching your modem (GetRil app will help you with this).

or should i say.. can I flash an EU i9100 rom on a Bell i9100m?
will I get an i9100 model number?
just to make sure it's supported by android market on my laptop Chrome.
THX!
Yes, I'm using Bell GT-i9100M, flashed Hong Kong Rom (for chinese input) and SIM unlocked, it shows Samsung Galaxy SII i9100 (instead of i9100M) on start up screen, everything works fine.
Any GSII could be flashed with any region firmware. No problem

Not the chinese ones that don't support EU firmwares and vice-versa and korean ones which are different models (SW, MW, etc)
I have an unbranded I9300 and flashed BLG1 (Singapore) from Samfirmware.. i am unable to set the radio to AUS2 (which is recommended for my network; Telstra) and the data connection is slow.
Does anyone know if the stock XXBLFB or XSA (Australian unbranded) is a better choice?
Also, would the official Telstra rom (for i9300T) work fine with a i9300?

It's Safe dude you can flash any rom on your galaxy, you just need to be sure that you own an GT - i9300
An advice, check what modem ver have your phone, some modems work properly in some areas and others simply don't

The modem version is found on Configuración -- Acerca de -- Versión de Banda Base .. That is the modem..
I'm from Venezuela and I have my S3 on UK firmware without problem. But if you have problem with the signal strength you can find the modem here at XDA and flashing again.
Hi experts here.
I bought a S3 that has the following info.
AP : I9300XXALE9
CP : I9300XXLE8
CSC: I9300OJVALE9
Android OS : 4.0.4
Currently I lived in Philippines and want to upgrade my OS firmware from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2.
What will be the best region/firmware should I use with ODIN?
Will I still have signals from local cellphone provider here? (because someone told me that when I flashed this with US firmware, I will not gain anymore local phone signals here in the Philippines).
Please help.
Thank you in advance.
Just go to sammobile.com and download firmware accorfing to region you will have to signup for that its quite eady and simple.

Just an additional note.
Do not flash American firmware on your phone, you will most likely brick it.
Only flash i9300 firmware
Thanks Salahuddin91 and slaphead20, I'll try to download I9300 firmware for Philippine region. :victory:

Hi guys, i want a firmware or custom rom for galaxy gt-i9100t, if there is any rom after 4.1.2 ! , also i have a question: the normal rom for g-ti9100 could be installed on gt-i9100t !!?
There isn't any stock firmware >4.1.2. Yes, you can flash I9100 stock roms on the I9100T, but you may have to use a modem from an I9100T rom if you're using the phone on a network belonging to a carrier who sold the I9100T.
okay 10x for help, i'm so greatfull
What about a i9100 custom rom?! Can i use it to i9100t !?

Yes, of course. the I9100 & I9100T (I also have an I9100T) are exactly the same except for a very slight difference in radio output, achieved by firmware - the modem.
If you flash an I9100 stock rom, it will include an I9100 modem which might (not always though) mess with your connectivity, and as I hinted at in my PP, in my experience, using modems which have been bundled with stock roms released by carriers which sold the I9100T tends to result in the best connectivity. You can check these by searching the I9100T firmwares on Samfirmware, which lists the baseband (modem), and you can then find/download whatever modem in question here.
However, if after flashing an I9100 stock rom your connectivity is OK, no need to change the modem. Only change the modem if your connectivity isn't great. Custom roms don't include modems, so flashing a custom rom won't change your current modem.
i got it, thank you very much for your help and your notes about the modem thing :good: .
