Guys, i was upgrading the ROM but this time i used this software, UNIFLASH , it showed some cmd windows, later phone automatically booted to cwm, and then turned off! since then its not turning on neither blinking any LED! guys, please show me a ray , help me! phone is not getting recognized by flashtool either :'( and same with seus
try to hold down power + volume up at the same time until you get the phone to vibrate 3 times, after that try to boot or get it into flashmode with flashtool..
remember.. flashtool is the way to go !
kindly report back or even pm me

already tried that, googled a lot already, nothing is helping!
also tried doing what you said with USB connected through my pc, windows kept playing that system sound which comes up when we plus out a device! in particular time intervals, like 3 4 seconds.

have you tried the fastboot method, it´s in android development, "all you need to know..."
try to flash official stock fw like .452 or .45 with flashtool..try to connect the phone in flashmode....hopefully everything will be alright...
PEACE
guys, phone is not able to boot in any mode, it be fastboot or flashmode! its completely dead thats what i meant earlier. After a lot of researching the whole night, i was able to figure out that the bootloader is that the UNIFLASH corrupted the bootloader. So how to fix that?
try this: make sure you have enough charge and the drivers of your phone are installed correctly. (flashtool drivers)
power+volume up wait till vibrates three times,
then connect your phone to pc.
run the flashtool and prepare the firmwares youre going to flash,
a screen will appear and says turn off your phone....etc
hold power button + volume up wait till vibrates three times
then quickly hold power button + volume down.
it will flash the firmware.
just keep on trying.

its simply not vibrating! i held that combination for like 5 minutes continuous last night, phone has to enter either fastboot or flashmode for flashtool to detect! none of them is coming up, and no LED again when its on charging. complete dead complete mess!
By the way, anyone knows how service center people update the phone's software?

would you please enplane what is JTAG and how it works ?
Had the same problem yesterday!
Maybe a noob advice but here what was my mistake: after switch off the phone with volume up, wait for like 30 second before trying to connect in flash mode. Though my phone was dead but just had to wait a little bit before trying the flash mode. Flashtool heal it!
Sorry for my poor english, I'm french and this is my first post, but I follow xda since a long time!

hello guys.
well i have a very big problem here.
i got 3 weeks ago an xperia S white.
i updated and rooted my device, was on 2.3.4 now 4.0.4 bootloader locked and rooted.. Yeah!!!!
everything was cool and excellent.
but here comes my stupid nephew and i dont know what he did.. but the device wont turn on and wont charge the battery .
i was thinking ok ok ok, with flashtool and everything cool...
but heres the problem, the device wont start in flashmode
i set flashtool and all, but when you need to plug the device pressing the vol - the flashtool wont recognize the device, so it does nothing...
i have charged the device for almost 6 hrs and nothing,
turn on with Vol +.... nothing as well....
so, i think its bricked but how??
so heres my question is there any way to "unbrick" this device???
thanks for any answer.

I had the same Problem, after a Kernel flash.
Xperia S seems to be dead, Power + Vol. UP didnt worked, it just vibrated once.
But now its working again. What i did:
Connected it via USB, hold the Power + Vol. UP button until it vibrated 3 times and than released the Power button but kept the Vol. UP Pressed.
Now it should be in Fastboot mode again.
Hope it will work for you. :fingers-crossed:

Try pressing both vol+ and vol- while holding the power button for about 10 seconds, you should get 1st one vibration and then 3 vibrations. worked for me when I thought I had bricked my S.

You could still get into flashmode as well.
And you don't need to have the bootloader unlocked for fastboot, but you can't flash stuff like other kernels than stock.
But if you are able to get into fastboot, you know that it is not dead.
Try charging it over night and then try getting it into flashmode by pressing vol down while plugging the USB in,it worked for me when I flashed MIUI without a kernel.
You can try using Sony update service, or just go to pc companion. In the update section you can click on repair. The phone doesn't need to be in any mode, it will say it automatically if it recognizes your phone. Which is naturally good news. Gl. I thought I bricked my phone a month ago. Those phones are unbrickable!!!

By reading all the comments i think that Your battery is dead(and its not replaceable either). What was the battery % when you gave him the phone?Whatever happened...it is not allowing battery to charge.Removing battery means breaking warranty. So i would suggest you to go to the sony shop,as a last resort!
Dont tell them anything about what happened, just say battery ran out and now its not starting.
See this(non-removable battery) is a big reason unbrickable phones also brick.

hey broo...i had the same problem....the battery drain was sooo crazy...so i started to flash the doom kernel v4a and then the XHS v3 rom..nothing wrong...started fine ...but the problem was ...no wifi...get an error while starting the wifi service...i downloaded the hotfix from doomlord...and installed it via recovery mode...so i got a boootloop...while boot looping several times ..battery ran out...same problem...lucky cuz i have a warranty..went to the shop and he told me he charged the battery external...and replaced it back and started fine....BTW i started the same topic and someone deleted it..so my advice for you...your phone is not broken...its just empty...charged it external ..and i hope it will work with you.
if it works...let me know.
i also got my phone rooted without unlocking bl ,installed cwm recovery and found out that battery cannot be charged when the phone is turned off..someone told me that version of recovery replaced the stock power-off charging program..
so i think your phone is just out of energy.

My Xperia P died WHEN I was using PC companion!
PC Companion won't recognise your phone in any event if the phone isn't switched on. The program is garbage anyway, I have tried it on two different laptops (including a Sony Vaio) and when trying to restore stuff back to the phone it hangs all the time.
you can use emma flashtool by sony to flash stock firmware but you must get into fastboot mod charge your phone gt emma ready then plug in your phone with vol - hold and then flashwith emma flashtool

Hi guys, yesterday I unlocked and rooted my Xperia U, as I didnt have time anymore, I decided to install the kernel today, so when I installed it, I tried turning on my phone - nothing. I just got that red light thingy sometimes that is active 2-3 seconds, I tried charging but still nothing, funny thing is, when I connect it to my 2nd PC with XP on it, it connects, but in My Computer I only see "Digital Camera" and cant open it, also Windows Explorer popup for it keeps constantly, well, popping up but its empty and I cant select anything. I'm now downloading flashtool, is there anything I can do else? Im desperate, I got this phone for only 3 days.
Okay, now I'm in flashtool, I'm about to start flashing but I cant get into fastboot mode... What should I do?
Bump? :crying:
Please dont make me spam, I searched everything, I'm pretty sure my problem is unique, I cant access fastboot. Nothing
try this:
1. charge your phone for about 1 hour
2. open flashtool then click fastmode and choose your firmware.
3. make sure your phone is off ( i dont know if this is the same with xperia U volume up+power button wait til vibrates three times)
4. when it says connect your phone into fastmode, connect your phone via usb, then hold volume up + power button and wait till it vibrates three times, then hold power button+ volume down.
5. it will flash your firmware.
or you can flash the stock kernel (just extract from ftf, same instructions above).
I charged it for the whole night, the problem is, I cant access fastboot. All the drivers are installed but nothing.
I'm sending my phone for repair probably, with rooting I broke my warrant, what's going to happen?

Not vibrating, also, no led.
The only sign I get is when I take out the battery and put it back in, it vibrates for a second. Thats it.
Try to remove the battery and than try all keys combination, and also try to get to connect it to your flashtool.Try hard reset combination.Remove the battery, put the battery, hold power+vol. up button for. 20 sec. If that doesn't make.Try the same only with vol. down button .If that doesn't work, take it to the service shop than....
Hit Thaks if I helped
Hold vol up when replacing the battery, then quickly shove the USB cable in. Phone should vibrate when you put the battery in and you have a second or two to get it into fastboot or flashboot.
Probably a bad install of a kernel, make sure you're using the right one for your phone.
Not sure if it works for the U, but that's how I fixed my Sola.

Exactly what I did too. Try again and again. You'll succeed. have stock kernel at hand.
While updating a new Xperia U to ICS the PCC had an error while flashing the new firmware. Now the screen lights up, the sony logo is shown for ~3-5 seconds and then it reboots.
After that I have been unable to get it recognized again by either PCC/SUS or flash tool.
I also checked my log files in Linux and no device appears.
I've tried 3 different machines (2x Windows 8, 1x Win 7), multiple USB ports. Also leaving the battery out for ~30 mins didn't change the behavior.
The green light for download mode comes on, but after about 5 seconds the light goes out and it goes into the boot loop again.
So by now I believe the device needs to be sent in, but maybe some one has a few more things I can try.
Try pressing the volume down plus volume up plus power button all 3 simultaneously till u feel 3 vibrations

Can you make sure the Flashtool drivers are installed ? Go to Flashtool Directory, open drivers directory and start the setup.. Make sure to select the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are also selected. Then, reboot System and folow this order.
Startt flashtool, select f/w, wait for Flashtool to tell you to connect to device. Then, holding the Volume down button (while phone is switched off), plug the cable into phone (The usb cable must already be connected to PC before starting the Flash Procedure )
The Order is very important.. I had same issue with U (althoguh mine crashed with Flashtool and same as what you observed. When I followed this order, I was able to get it detected and flashed )

I tried that right now, Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are installed. Flash tool is ready, device is plugged in with volume down pressed, green light comes on. Nothing is found on the PC, after about 5 seconds the green light turns off and the phone shows the sony logo. Green light also comes on if i simply plug in the usb without volume down pressed. So I'm thinking, the download mode has some how been corrupted?

After several tries (a lot of...) I manage to enter flashmode and SUS is now reinstalling sony ROM.
Honestly I don´t know how it works this time and not the others but i'm happy with it independently of what happens.
... seems flashtool is detecting ur phone try to flash first the stock kernel and do not wipe everything it shud be in timing though.. onces it is flash charge ur phone in kernel mode (phone is off) then you can flash the stock fw of ur XU.

No worries. The phone turns off because it doesn't receive any signal from the PC - many people make the mistake of connecting the device in flashmode first, and then they start the flashtool etc.
Instead, load the flashtool first, go to flashmode, select a complete/full stock ftf for your phone (whichever version you want, but do double check if the ftf has kernel.sin file in it) and press the flash button. Only once you get the pop up with the animation telling you to connect the phone in flash mode, connect the phone in flashmode (volume - button pressed when connecting cable). As soon as you connect the phone, the flashtool will start its magic and your phone won't turn off.
if you can go in cwm wipe system then you will only be stuck on sony logo then use this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPPWRXcsz7g.....it will work because this same happened to me and i fixed it with this method!

Bit more detail how you bricked it installing CWM. What exactly you done and where you get it from.
Try to shut it down, press power + volume up untill you feel (1+) 3 vibrations.
See if you can connect it in flash mode (connect usb to pc while you hold volue down), the led should turn green.

First I'd like to thank's for your help ChikeD!
Well.... I was trying to install the new CM 11 Nightly Build - a custom ROM build on Android 4.4.2 KitKat- on my Sony Xperia P device
I had rooted succesfully and was seaching for an app on google play store to provide access to "recovery mode" that works with my LT 22i to finish the installation of this new rom... i tryed lot of apps, but no one worked... and so I've found this app "Recover X" from LEDelete developer.
after install and run, this app show me one option to get access to recovery mode... i dont remember exactly, but i saw somethig like "CMW......" on screen. after download, I tryed to reboot my phone and then its completly dead!! i'd tryed any kind of possibility pressing buttons dowloading softwares and more but my computers didn't recongize it when connect USB cable...
vol+ / power dont work, vol- / usb dont work, no charging indicator, no lights blinks, nothing works! it looks like a motherboard without any operational system...
And I saw in some websites that exist one JIG for Samsung devices that alows recovery phones with problems like mine... so i wonder if is possible to find some JIG for Xperia P or any other possibility of reinstallation of android system
I hope i made myself clear because I'm still learning this language... that means I'm sorry for my bad english in advice...
If there is anything that you can't understand, please let me know
Thank's a lot!
Alex
If you had asked before I would have told you Recovery X won't work, didn't work the 2 times I have tried it, but didn't brick my phone eithr.
To incatal CM you didn't neet to root or install CWM since you need to flash it's kernel anyway.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Was the phone fully charged when it happened, did it start boot and then died or just went black?
Have you tried to hold the power + volume up for 10-15 minutes?
To reinstall firmware you need flash mode (volume down while connecting to USB), have you flashed with flashtool or PC Companion before?

If you had asked before I would have told you Recovery X won't work, didn't work the 2 times I have tried it, but didn't brick my phone eithr.
To incatal CM you didn't neet to root or install CWM since you need to flash it's kernel anyway.
Is your bootloader unlocked?

Yes i had reinstalled twice by flash tool and pc companion, holding vol down while connecting to USB, because the device was with very low performance.
When i was trying to get rebooted on "recovery mode" before the black screen, my battery was on 85%....
Yesterday i tried to do "hard reboot" holding the power + volume up for 50 minutes and nothing....
Actually what i really need is find a way to get some response of the system of this phone (by connecting in some jig, or doing something with the software or even the hardware...), because if my computer recognize the phone, i do believe that i'll can handle with reinstallation... in other words, my challenge now it's only get out from the black screen for any other operational response
One of my ideas is unmount rear cover and try to disconnect the battery cord for 10 minutes and see if something changes... but i'm fully opened to new ideas
I really believe that i'll succeed on this case with yours precious help!!
Thank you again for your assistance!

Hello,
I was so enthousiastic about the MM update that I didnt realize I was flashing the Z4 Table MM ftf to the Z5 compact. ****!! Now my phone seems to be dead. No vibrating, no lights no matter what I do.
I try to flash the correct ROM with Flashtool, but it doesn't recognize the device.
In device manager, the phone is not recognized "Unknown USB device, attempt for device descript failed" (if I translate correctly).
Is there something I can do?
Open flashtool. Select the firmware you want. And press on flash. Once flashtool prompts you, ONLY THEN you connect your phone while holding the power down button

Unfortunately it didn't work. I read in some other thread that battery has to die for the memory to reset, then recharge and flash. So I am waiting for this to happen... hope it's working.

If you're stuck on the Sony logo screen hold volume up and power to hard boot, there is no need to let the battery drain.
Download a fresh mm .ftf, load up flash tool and prepare files(exclude nothing), wait for flash mode prompt then plug in device while holding volume down(do not let go until it stays solid). It takes a long time to flash, you'll probably think it's stuck at times.

I got back from work and no miracle happened. Phone is still dead. The screen is black. When i put it to charger or pc, no led is blinking. When I do hard reset (with little buttin next to sim tray) nothing happens. When I attempt to reset with power button + volume up nothing happens, no vibration.
I tried repair with Sony Companion, it does not recognize the phone. Windows first recognized the device as some generic, then on second and following attempts reports a malfunctionion USB device.
Have I destroyed my phone??? I never unlocked the bootloader or even unrooted. How could I destroy vital parts of the system? Isn't there some low level something there that still should enable me to flash another rom? How can I get to this part?
I feel a bit devastated now. I actually never realized flashing had this danger (if bootloader locked ...)

try reinstalling your drivers also when you connect your phone to the charger do u get a charging light ?
did you try a different USB cable, i saw it hapen that crappy USB cables gives a bad flash, or doesn't recognize the device
If you really don't find any other solution, bring it to the Sony repair center/the shop you bought from and tell that it was updating to Marshmallow but after the restart, the phone was dead.
I highly doubt your phone will work again in the current state you've left it in.
I've flashed a boot.img from another device to see what happens, the phone just vibrates and turns back off. Can easily recover by flashing the correct boot.img, so it looks like yours is damaged at a lower level.
I assume the bootloader tried to update itself with files from the wrong device instead of checking.
Good Luck.

Thanks everyone for the support. I didn't have a chance to report back earlier due to work. I want to describe everything as good as possible, so maybe other people having the same problem later on can refer to this thread.
When I put in the charger, no LED is turning on.
I tried a different computer (win7), installed flashtool and then ALL drivers included with flashtool drivers. No help.
I left the charger on for many hours, the previous night I also tried what is referred to as the "rubber trick". Nothing.
I looked at several threads, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/help/hard-bricked-power-to-flash-mode-t3004020, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/help/help-bricked-z2-t3052671, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/help/dead-m2-recognized-somc-flash-device-t3304758. As far as I can see none of the people who encountered similar symptons have reported back solving it other then sending it to Sony repair.
I contacted Sony support, they asked me to charge it, attempt Sony Companion repair. Of course it doesn't help. So I contact them again tomorrow (indeed telling after MM upgrade it didn't start) and then send it to them.
I just don't understand how this could have been happened, seeing what celderic reports. Is it even related to me flashing the wrong ftf, or could it also happen even likely while flashing the good ftf?
Is flashing ftf's even save? If not, maybe we should warn people more about it. (I always assumed as long as you don't root / unlock bootloader nothing can really go wrong, cause the important parts I am never allowed to touch).
Ironic, I was so impatient for FINALLY getting a working, performing phone, boy, did I prolong my wait. It is really ridiculous Sony could sell us this piece of crap that is slower than my old Blackberry Z10 and make us bear it for so long, and then suddenly they are able to turn it into a superblazer. Should have been like this right from the beginning.
How long did you press the reset button? I had a similar situation with my Z1C a few days ago. Misclicked without realizing it and flashed a wrong rom. Out of frustration and because I was talking to somebody I pressed a paperclip against the reset button for about a minute. At that point the phone did vibrate, went blank again and I could put it in flash mode.
Hm .. I pressed it long, but probably not a minute long. Can't try again though, phone is on its way to repair center.
By the way, someone asked, I used original Sony cable.
Got my phone back working today. Very good support from Sony!! Only took 5 working days. (I'm in the Netherlands)
