All I get is permission denied?

Install TWRP from Goo Manager from The Google Play Store, and flash one of the stock rooted odexed/deodexed ROMs you will easily find by searching the LTEVO forums. I think you are using a rooting method that cannot exploit on the new hboot.

Can't unlock via HTC dev either.
Getting some error message.
Bootloader error or something
Really irritating that they lock down a evo device like this and make it nearly impossibleto work with.
If I can't figureit out I'm just going to put it on Craig'slist I've spent hours downloading HTCsync and all the stupid ****.
All time wasted.

Yep. Bricked mine by accidentally flashing old firmware had on my SD card. Got hboot 1.15 on replacement the store didn't have any that were hboot 1.12 put mine up for trade on craigslist to S3 and going to trade it out for that tomorrow at a sprint store. Can't stand this phone anymore nothing but problems with it before I bricked it. Constant issues with having to be reprovisioned.

All the way to when you input the fast boot oem code into command prompt.
It spit out a key the first time, but when I pasted it the way they asked it saidit was wrong or too short.
So I tryed it again and each time it kept sayingerror bootloader something.
Wouldn't spit out anymore keys.
I rebooted the device and the pc same error before giving up
I have a different machine I'm going to try on later on
But I also tried the one click root as well and had the same permission denied issue.
EVO LTE
It has to include bootloader heading and the closing, if you still had the token on the clipboard you would probably just need the heading and closing.
i got it all done.
using a different machine i was able to get the token the first go.
im rooted and running twrp.
i used this guide for help
http://htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-l...tc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/
guess i wont be selling for now lol
thanks everyone for the help.

Just wanted to know how you guys fared with the recent S-OFF process. Just a quick and easy poll to see the results of the process, and to help determine the level of risk involved in going through this process.
I haven't yet done the S-OFF process, but do plan on it in the near future.
Success! no issues, guides were written for noobs to follow.
No issue here although revolutionary stuck at downloading recovery but cancelled out and.flash twrp no problem.
I'm going to start cooking now.

Completely painless. Even the auto call to Sprint.
Recovery didn't flash for me, but I wanted to install TWRP anyway so I flashed it through HBOOT.

I'm pretty new at this, but I thought it was a piece of cake. Everything went smoothly. The only problem was the error 16 when I tried to make a call. I'll bet Sprint is getting tons of calls tonight on that one lol.
Clockwork didn't flash. But s off took and flashing twrp worked fine.
Rooted and got titanium working too.
An epic experience of epic epicness.

I'm fairly new to the 3vo but not new to s-off. I'm a little late to the party but has there been any mention about going back to s-on in case we need to take back to sprint for exchanges and what not??? for example like a .img file??? I wanna do it so bad but don't wanna be stuck without being able to go back stock... Apologize for going off-topic...

I don't have 4g in my area and can't test it but is everyone else's 4g working fine without anything special
Got everything done in under 10 minutes. Process ran smooth and nothing really unexpected. The only snag I had was installing the superuser apk from the market, but I just used the fixed version I got on here and everything runs good now.
BTW...just restored my angry birds data using Titanium Backup. All those hours playing weren't wasted afterall!
I didn't have any issues but I do have a question, when I run ADB Shell from the command line I get $ instead of #, is there something I forgot to do or is this the normal state of this root method at this point? Root apps work, CWM recovery is installed, Superuser app is installed, can't seem to access anything or do much from the command line.

Revolutionary has stopped. The last update they made to the tool was about 2 months ago. Look at their site, then go to the bottom of the wiki page and take a look.
No update in 2 months= whatever you want to think.
They won't be finding a patch for the evo3d 1.5 hboot because they aren't looking.

I've talked with them... They are looking, just not making it a priority, and if anyone doubts or continues to harass them, they feel more like putting it off. It take time to find an exploit.

I've talked to them as well, if anyone asks about any news on 1.5 hboot, they simply say no, then kick you out of irc. Why would they have any desire to put any effort into looking when htc released the unlock method? It's not going to happen, maybe next summer.
I knew I should have rooted before setting everything up

Htcdev unlocker Sux and isn't working for me. it goes through the whole process but won't unlock. So i just gave up. Anyway the phone is still a beast and atleast i have a brand new phone to tide me over until April for my upgrade. But of course I'm going to wait now for the lte phones to come out. Hope you all are having fun flashing, i envy you all. And a little jealous to.

Just do some reading. I did HTCDev unlock earlier this week. I have had my 3D since launch should have rooted it before I took updates but to be honest it really isn't that big of deal as people make it out to be once it's working.
You just gotta boot recovery using your computer instead of using the phone. Even when I had my evo I was always using my computer with a usb to copy rom files over anyway so taking an extra few seconds to boot recovery isn't a huge deal. I guess if your flashing like crazy and have roms on your sd card it could get annoying but I don't go that flash crazy. I like to setup my phone and keep it that way for a while.

Nothing wrong with Hboot 1.5 I have it also just one lil step more to flash but nothing hard to do... Root was rather easy Just follow the HTC DEV steps they give you no need for a video lol.
Does the htcdev way not work for 1.5?
no prompt to unlock your phone shows up. Even though in cmd it says that it was successful. It just stays in hboot.
Can I ask how its not working specifically?

So I was doing all the downgrade stuff..
Downgraded, got as far as the Revolutionary S-Off part, then when I was gonna update my radios I ****ed up and copied the wrong zip and flashed the first 2.11 RUU and it took me back to 1.5 locked.
I was so tired had been at it for hours so I'm like **** I'll just start again I guess this time will be easy, I bricked my phone through the method but then I read if you were already s-off that was perma brick?
I read that after I tried running the live cd tool and it wouldn't recognize the phone, please tell me my 2 week old baby isn't gone...
I do get the red dim light still idk if that matters but I can't turn it on or go into the bootloader
The last I heard if you do the downgrade with S-off your phone becomes a paper weight.
I got frustrated at what I did and was so tired I didn't re-read I just repeated the process then I read I had bricked it since it was already s-off..
is it gone?
As far as I know its gone! on the bright side you now have a nice expensive paper weight!
Sorry for your loss. Its a hard lesson learned.
Your best bet is to take it back to Sprint and tell them it stopped working, and see if they trade it in for you. I've read that a guy on this forum did that and they charged him like $35
for new device. Time to use your communication skills. I just sent mine to HTC for repair because I don't have a Sprint account, I'm using Google Voice for the moment. Just tell the Sprint rep how much you love them and their service and how you'd recommend them to family & friends and all that, they might just help you out. I'm missing my E3D already:'(

Not exactly, you can take any update you want to with s-off, and s-off will stick. I've run the 2.17 RUU with s-off and it put on hboot 1.5 locked, but since I still had s-off, I just flashed a custom recovery and then flashed hboot 1.4 without ever unlocking, the s-off overrides the lock.
I wouldn't do fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 unless I absolutely had to, like if I was selling my phone and they didn't want s-off. The op only has problems because he was s-off and then did unknowns brick method.

I thought about doing that, but did you have to register with HTC? I'd like to avoid doing that.
Just go to HTC dev and unlock. That's what his tool uses anyway. You aren't getting around that till a new s-off is developed.
Right, but his tool does not register your phone in particular with HTC. It's anonymous.
