[Q] Xperia S to Xperia SL, possible? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello!
My question is, possible to make my Xperia S to SL? Any official or unofficial way?
I have tried to make with PC Companion, and SUS, but after the update, I see in About phone: LT26i, and the processor speed is 1512mhz
If it's not possible, any way, to unlock my phones bootloader with sim lock?
Thanks for answer, and sorry for bad english

Just flash a 1.79gh kernel and it's even better than xperia SL
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2

I understand it, but i have locked bootloader with sim lock i can't flash custom kernel

Why you would want to flash SL firmware on SUS? It won't make a difference.
And, with locked bootloader, no overclock. (I guess not for now)
Sent from my LT26i with Tapatalk 2

Because the SL has got 1,7Ghz overclocked cpu by Sony

This won't make a difference. You won't change the hardware and it won't change the clock speed. Same exact case as Arc - Arc S

Well, i believe this, because i can make my old Motorola Defy (800Mhz) to Motorola Defy+ (1000Mhz), with upgrade software and kernel.
But i accept this. Thanks for help
2011 models bootloader unlock works with Xperia S? (s1tool and testpoint)

I guess test point won't as our battery is kinda sealed. Dunno for s1 tool. Just be careful as you can hard brick your device.

Hi guys,
I know it sounds a bit weird but just want to know if i flash the stock v1.6i (X10i, Generic international, R1FA016) (Donut) over my phone with unlocked bootloader(running stock), will it work ??
just use the flashtool to go back to 1.6 your bootloader will stay unlocked.

I'm pretty sure that locked bl kernels work on both locked and unlocked bl's, but unlocked bl kernels don't work on locked bl's.

I think you can flash central europe as you can remove more apps without root.
I am not sure if it has the asian language. I am currently using Singapore firmware which contains chinese and japanese keyboard.
In my opinion, if you are not planning to use custom ROM, you might as well wait till ICS released for rooting purpose. At that time, there should be a way to root without unlocking bootloader

I'm using German as my primary language
So I think the central europe will work..
Well.. actually I'm planning to use a costum ROM..
But its just a plan.. I haven't see all of the costume ROMs here..
But I think I'll wait till someone made root without unlocking bootloader possible.
Thanks for your answer

Nothing bad cause it is allowed from sony itself
They speak that you will loose the drm key or something like that but I don't know what is useful for.
Don't worry,For warranty reasons you can lock it again.

you can lock your bootloader again,
but u wont get the DRM key again..
as far as i know (if im not mistaken) DRM key is useful for warranty,
if u unlocked ur XS, then you void your warranty..
anyway, ive unlocked my phone and rooted..
so this thread can be locked
thanks xda

Untill now,
root can only be achieved by flashing pre rooted.img via fastboot..
If u want to know wether ur phone is already unlocked or not, try unlocking ur phone via fastboot like what u did.
On the cmd will be written,
'"Phone already unlocked"

s-on s-off

I rooted my Neo some time ago, but I'm not sure whether it has S-OFF. How can I check? Thanks.
I had my Neo in original GB. I rooted it using this Flashtool procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709880. And the phone is with ICS now.
May I unlock bootloader now? And how?

These are 2 methods to unlock Bootloader
1. testpoint - I used that and it's really simple
2. Officialy
I prefer testpoint so here u are --> http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-data-track-id-working/
I would say go for official one.. because it is easy and anything official is great

Cheers and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!
Yess bro you are right.. but See basically once you unlock your bootloader and even if u again lock it, its in re-locked state and not locked state.. whatever it is.. once u unlock the bootloader you void your warrenty anyways.. so even if we lose DRM whats the big deal?
Because if that was the case then at first place we would not root the phone or unlock the bootloader.. we know what we have to face after doing it

No not always.. there are some roms wich u cannot flash having a locked bootloader.. but there are some.. here is the link for one..

This might help you.. for locked bootloader.. its a superb rom too.. dont forget to thank ghostfreak nb..
And yes, once you use flashtool, you will lose your warrenty.. cant help it there..
Hit thanks if i helped you..

lost DRM is not important !
You can repair your phone using sus whenever you want to by just relocking bl !

It's not same.
lack of DRM certificate can easily be seen/spotted in service center, just by connecting phone to one program, which is not the case with "re-locked" or "un-patched" phone whose BL has been unlocked unofficialy via s1tool.

Well, if you flash fw for same region then there is no way to know that phone has been flashed with flashtool.
And if "you" are smart enough you will make backup ftf before you star messing with your phone.
Or smart enough to know how to trick SEUS or PCC to flash different fw, by editing build.prop.
Just FYI, my BL was unofficially unlocked, flashed so many times (though before service center I flashed it with correct region) and they replaced my motherboard with no problems.

So who ever put DRM in the first place was stupid, right?
That's your opinion, but you can't say it's not important.

Android 4.2/4.3 for Xperia P Locked BT

Unfortunately, you can't try the Android v4.2.2 or 4.3 with bootloader, you must unlock it.
Except Sony release official Android v4.2.2 or 4.3,but that's not possible.
