I tried everything to add arabic support to a Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500,
note that arabic works and the letters are arranged in the correct order,
they are just not connected.
What i tried,
1) replace the font, the font changed but still the same problem
2) attempt to replace framework folder of an arabic supported stock , an Egyptian Version, it should have arabic support,
using the same method as installing a custom rom, using a CWM and a zip with a script to extract those files to the correct location, but i got bootloops.
3) I tried to replace the entire system folder with system folder of the Egyptian Stock ROM, same problem, bootloops.
4) Finally i tried to replace system.img.ext4 from stock firmware with the Egyptian system.img.ext4 and install it through odin3,
but it would complete.
and now im out of options,
unfortunately this phone has no dedicated forum i could find nor many custom roms, not that i want them as this isn't my phone and i'd like to keep it the same as it as.
I think you should try this patch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410460 , and its Arabic guide from here:http://blog.devasque.com/how-to-apply-patch/
It's recommended to test it without the "libwebcore.so" at first, then you can do it later if worked properly :good:

thanks,
unfortunately, i've tried that earlier but the main problem is that this only works on deodexed roms...
so i deodexed it and applied this, phone worked fine for one day and started giving trouble after words,
so i restored and let it be.

Thanks. But you do know a way to fix arabic support? Eventhough I can chose arabic, the letters are detached.
Thanks
I applied the following to AmeriCanAndroid r3.06 and it worked for me. Try it and tell us if it works for other roms.
For Arabic letters messing up at the beginning of some words check out the following links that fixed the problem for me. Just follow the instructions carefully and good luck.
Arabizer files: (You will need to recopy these files after each rom update)
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/showthread.php?t=300641
Then install any Arabic supported keyboard of your choosing. MultiLing Gingerbread Keyboard with the Arabic plugin is my favorite at the moment but this one is also good:

Thanks man. But i was not able to push those files for some reason. I had root.
Any idea of a flashable ZIP or maybe a simple APK?
Before I continue please note that I had nothing to do with the development of any of these or other files. I just found them and they worked on my device to fix the discussed problem. Therefore the best advice you can get would come directly from the developers of the files themselves.
That being said, I will describe what I did in order to get them to work for me.
1) follow the link to the ce4arab website (in my previous post) and register (free) in order for the download files to be visible and downloadable. Note: website is completely in Arabic.
2) Download and extract the 3 files in the compressed file. When you extract the files they will be in folders that refer to the exact folders to be moved to on the phone's root. For example root/system/framework/framework.jar
3) Running Android, connect your HD2 to the computer and copy these files to the phone's SD card (doesn't really matter where). Then disconnect your device.
4) Now run Root Explorer (download from the market or somewhere else) which will enable you to move these 3 files from your SD to the phone's root. Each file goes to the specific folder on the root. Note: Just to be on the safe side, I backed up my existing root files (just copied them somewhere on the SD card) before I overwrote them with these modified files.
5) Now reboot and install your preferred Arabic enabled keyboard.
Note: after any rom update you will need to repeat this procedure again.
Thanks goes out to all the great developers for this great device.
Ya I know that, but I simply wasnt able to move the file using root explorer because there was already existing files and for some reason, I was not able to overwrite the files (although I have root).
Thanks anyways.
I really don't know why you are unable to overwrite the files. The only thing I can think of is that Root Explorer doesn't have superuser permission on your device. So it is stopping you from overwriting system files. Different roms deal with this differently so first try the general superuser permission fixes (google these) and if that doesn't work, include the name of the rom you are using into your google search words. I am running AmeriCanAndroid 3.06 and Root Explorer was granted superuser permission automatically. So I am guessing that your rom handles this differently.
Note: Superuser is an app that enables you to grant special permissions to specific apps. It should be in your app tray.
Hi, I downloaded some Arabic language files from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238482
which are "META-INF" and "system".. I'm really new to this, actually this is my second day using an android, i rooted my device and got familiar with that, is there a way to make my device read Arabic ( by adding those file somewhere) without having to restore a whole new ROM image?
Thanks
Hello there,
I can't post in developer thread, but this is for de OMGB nand.
The OMGB nand is the only one which actually works on my RHOD100. With de GB*** nand when my screen goes black it stays black until i reseat the battery
Anyway, there was one thing I didn't like so much on OMGB. It only has the English language in it.
I tried to use MoreLocal2, but that just makes other apps work in my language (not the system apps).
I downloaded the full apk files from another nand and did some decompile, copy (language map) and compile actions on (most) system apps.
Added this apk's in an update zip file and loaded that from Recovery. Now my phone talks the same language as me :victory:
Maybe other dutch people would like this, so I'll attache it here.
Edit: File is 14 MB so I can't attache it here... Let me know when your interested...
One sidenote: the Launcher2.apk is updated too, so you'll need to put your icons and widgets back in place, because they will all be gone after this update. Maybe you can backup and restore, but I havn't tried that.
I didn't see any other problems with it, but always backup before you try any update! :good:
Sounds like some good work. I would like to see the work you did. I am trying to get Hebrew working on the physical keyboard with TouchPal keyboard, which supports Hebrew. There is an other keyboard app, AnySoftKeyboard, which does work fully. I am using the latest NAND from a few weeks ago.

Hi there,
I don't know if my work can help you with that...
With the keyboard I didn't do anything.
What I did was:
- Decompile all system APK's from the nand rom to a folder (folder1)
- Decompile all system APK's from anaother rom (same android version) to a folder (folder2)
- Copy all language files from the APK's from folder2 to folder1 (in the right place of course).
- Recompile all (modified) system APK's from folder1.
- Create an update package to install the modified APK's.
At this point you can set Android to use the language ypu added.
I found a procedure to do this somewhere on this forum, but I didn't save it to my favorites.
So you have to find it by yourself
Thanks! Doesn't help me directly, but makes such mods sound easy enough to give a shot at.

After lots of reading XDA and using the many tweaks and fixes one can find here (thanks!) I ran into a problem I can't seem to solve.
I'm modifying a custom ROM (by www.jiayu.es --> version 20131203-000001) for the Jiayu G4B (basic 1/4 3000mah) for use in the Netherlands. I already applied some fixes (GPS-fix, APN-settings, SMS-fix, add some APKs) and created a flashable zip file for use with CWM (thanks to dsixda kitchen).
One thing I can't seem to implement is the replacement of modem.img (in system/etc/firmware) with an updated version that fixes frequent drops of the connection to the network. This fix is documented on the dutch site tweakers.net.
The original fix is quite simple: you just replace modem.img (using a file explorer) with the updated one, straighten out the file permissions and reboot the phone. The thing is I don't want to have to do this manually everytime I flash a new ROM, and furthermore it's fun to learn how to customize my own ROM.
So I thought I could just replace modem.img in my working folder with the newer one and be done with it. Problem is that after I flash the ROM containing the new modem.img both my sims remain offline and the only way to go online again is by restoring a CWM backup.
I already checked the file permissions and they are correct. Unfortunately google also couldn't help me find the answer. Does any here have an idea how to solve this?

So did you ever find the solution to this problem??? Did it involve taking the battery out immediately after you flash the ROM with the desired modem.img?
No it was never solved, I gave up after a while.
I don't have the phone anymore, so I can't test your solution.

having that kinda problem, thinking to replace system.img 1st with push adb, then use dd if=...of=.. not sure if gonna work
This is my first post here in forum. I hope to be forgiving about my english.
A month ago my phone stuck at start up. I make a reboot most times but nothing. After a Android logo start up stop to loading animation image.
After a search in whole internet the only rom that i could reload from the begining was the rom with name 4.4.358.22.T3.141009.8865U.vf_es.cpb .
I make the installation of this rom successfully with Coolpad Download assistant and the phone start to work again.
But ...... as you can see from the last letters the rom is spanish without all languages.
I find the way with tutorials from here to make some changes to this rom about the language but i have no way to install & test the new rom.
Maybe someone have a stock rom with greek language install or if you can show me the way to install my tweaked rom.
I try the CPB editor & the tutorial from here but something is wrong. CPB editor only extract the files from cpb , does not repack from folder. If you try to repack the application take the original file cpb & make a copy with some changes & i can find what changes but the result is to make the rom corrupt.
Coolpad Download assistant & YGDP Tool doesn't recognize the rom. Both programmes have a verification mechanish that said them that the rom have errors. Maybe CPB files roms have some extra information in their compression.
Any other solution to pack a CPB files correct????
Or if anyone have stock or custom rom for this phone with Greek language in system???
Thank you in advance
PS.
You make a great job.
hello.
I'm also looking for a Greek rom.
I've successfully flashed a UK one but it is my father's phone and he needs Greek.
