hey guys i sent ballistic an email to ask them if they had any plans as far as waterproof cases seeing as how life proof only does iphones and this is the email i got back:
My email to them:
hello!
i bought your htc evo hc case when it first came out and love it and now am the proud owner of a sg maxx for my evo lte and am loving that also but i have a question about future cases. im sure by now you guys have heard of the company "LifeProof" who makes the water proof cases for the iphone, and there in lies the problem, only the iphone. i have a friend who owns one of their cases and envy his ability to just not care if his phone falls in the pool or anywhere else where liquid resides. so my questions is, do you guys have any plans on making water proof cases in the future? i honestly would be willing to pay $100 for a water proof case for my evo lte seeing as how with that investment would come the peace of mind of knowing that i wont be paying $100 in insurance to assurion in the future to replace my phone because i tripped in a puddle haha. If you have any info or anything else regarding a water proof case from you guys please let me know.

There is hope that we may soon be able to throw our phones in pools and not give zero f*cks haha :victory:
In would never intentionally drown my poor phone but this seems like good news if true
Count me in, I'm comfortable with my case at work, but I refuse to carry my phone with me while working in the rain. Would be nice to not have to worry about it.

So I noticed that on my Photon screen there were two streaks which can be seen in the picture. One streak is much bigger then the other. I know the picture is pretty bad, did it on purpose so that the mystery smudges could be soon.
The weird part is that when I wipe the screen with the micro fiber cloth the screen looks brand new no smudges but it seems for some reason those two spots keep coming back as the screen gets used. Anyone have any thoughts? I have never spilled anything on the phone and I do not work in an abrasive environment. I have tried screen cleaner as well still no luck.
I wounder if sprint would fix this with TPE as wear and tear? Somehow I doubt they will though.
hmmm, well since i work at a sprint repair center, i'll just give you my personal opinion, if you brought to me, i would say it's either physically cracked or liquid damage of some kind, but i would have someone else confirm it, but, just take it to your local repair center and keep your fingers crossed it's covered if not, hey, a deductible for an insurance claim is still a lot cheaper $600
I had an issue similar to this with my evo 4g. I took it to the sprint store store and they replaced it the screen. They said it was pressure points on the screen. I have a thread posted on the evo 4g forums general section, cause just like you i was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong with. Must people said water damage...but i take good care of phones and never put them near any liquids.
So when u get a chance, search the evo 4g general forum...check out the pics of my screen and see if they're similar.

not sure if i agree so much with the liquid damage (but obviously it's difficult to know because it's a picture). It seems as if it is a pressure point like it was in your pocket. me being a tech i have no access to photon screens at all. so depending on how smart the tech you speak to is, it could go either through TEP or he/she would just swap it out.

Has anyone gotten a look at the Best Buy case that comes free with the Note pre-order?
I was wondering if there is a screen protector included. I'm going to assume there is none unless someone has seen one.
Assuming it's the same as the international (which I believe it is), I don't see a screen protector.

Thanks for the link, that was the worst review ever, but it was good to see what I'm getting. It looks very similar to the pics on BB. I really want a rugged case(i.e. Ballistic, Trident, Otterbox). But I'll take what I can get.

Does anyone know if NFC will work with this case on?

That's a very good question as it seems the nfc antenna is located in the back cover. I doubt it will work.

Best Buy rep
I stopped by best buy and asked the rep if the case would support NFC she looked at me like a deer in headlights and had no idea what NFC was she got another rep and asked him and he said NFC is on the Note but does not work yet I I told him I knew that already and wanted to know if the free case worked with NFC since the antenna for it is on the back of the case that comes with it he had no idea and asked his manager 15mins later the manager came out and said he had no idea yet he would think it would but could not say for sure since they aren't here yet he tried to find more info on his computer but found nothing so Best Buy doesn't even know yet the free case isn't turning out to be that much of a plus anymore.
The fact it's a flip case basically eliminated any interest I might have had in the BB deal for the Note. I can understand having a flip case for a tablet....but for a phone, I would find it as a hassle. I'm still gonna settle for a regular case, most likely a TPU one.

We got no info on the actual flip case from corporate. It was a deal struck with samsung and bby corporate and has nothing to do with the retail level associates. Right now they are sitting in a warehouse waiting for distribution. Im sure they will be in before release. If they are there by wednesday I can give everyone a definite answer. After that Im on vacation
I doubt these were made for the ATT model. If they are the ones that were already made, it will not work as the nfc is not in the back like the ATT model.
One the bright side it was free and nfc is not yet enabled.

The people at Best Buy Mobile are way beter than the people at Best Buy they let me know my Note was in although the free Flip case was not they still could not tell me if it has the NFC contacts on it since they have not seen them but were very nice even though I have been pestering them for days guess I just have to wait and see don't know if I should get a case off internet that has the NFC contacts or wait till the free flip case is in

I played with one at AT&T for about 20 minutes today and I really didn't like the flip case on it. It felt very cheap. I've played with another one from someone's international Note and it was much sturdier. I hope the one Best Buy gives out is more solid, but I got a feeling its not.

Felt like cheap cardboard to me. Like I could have easily bent or snapped it. The one I played with for the international note had hard plastic and looked nice as well. Hopefully the best buy one will be like the international one and not the cheap crap I saw at the AT&T store.
My beloved prime after it was catapulted by my 10 month baby across the room (yeah, she's that strong, we call her Yetti behind her back).
Surprisingly enough, the bad mammajamma is still fully functioning (minus the fact that swiping your finger across those cracks will draw blood, the darn thing is razor-sharp).
Think I can RMA? (The prime, not Yetti)
I tried to nandroid-restore it, but it's still cracked, I'll write a *****en email to the dev with a feature request, "Please make option to restore broken screen or else I'll give you 1 star".
oh, and it made my GPS super-awesome now! I can see 4000+ sats now, some of them I can pick right through earth when they are right below me.
Yeah, no, it's a bummer, I wanted to lock my self in the bathroom and weep like a 6 years old girl who's Pony got hit by a truck.
I'm picking donation for a new TF700, tax exempt.

btw, would it cover reckless-child accidents? I know if a lightning would have struck my prime or a flood or something, it would, though I don't think "my child freesbeed it to the wall" would'nt count (that is, if I'll tell the insurance lady the truth).

@op ...
You could always ebay your Yetti ... i often think about the same.
That just hurts me from looking at it. If you can't scrap it for parts do you think a screen protector would prevent your fingers from getting cuts? If your into programing you can turn it into a test tablet for running and tinkering roms/apps.

I use a aluminium case with my Evo 3D with no noticeable interference. Its definitely a cool idea you should go for it
Can't help you with the case but god damn that's a sexy valve cover. I've seen neo-chrome lug nuts but nothing like that lol. Would look bad ass if I could do that to my LS1 intake manifold...
I wanna try this too badly to worry about reception atm, but hopefully it isn't too bad.
And you gotta see the valve cover in person. SICKKK! I saw a black genesis with aurora (the company that does this coating calls it aurora) coated wheels, and it's the most unique thing ever! It costs a pretty penny tho.
I'm only doing cause I'm a good friend so I can cut most of my costs down significantly, otherwise it just wouldn't be financially sensible to spend that much money on a case.
I haven't gotten around to buying the case yet tho cause I'm still spending money on my car =D haha

Yeah they posted on Twitter the other day that they were coming end of July- so quite a wait! Hoping other companies can get them out a bit quicker!

Thanks for the information.
Had their cases on my Nexus 6p, were generally good quality. Surprised they are so late though, they are usually the first come out with cases.
Im quite surprised that they aren't straight outta the door with these cases. Alot of other companies already have their cases; Otterbox and Orzly just to name two

I think you mean ONLY Orzly and Otterbox have them. And then no name Chinese brands that take 3 weeks to ship.
The customer support in India said that they are coming in 2-3 weeks. So hopefully 15th July is a fair date to consider.

Looks like the one I had for my Nexus 6p. If indeed that's indeed the case (pun intended) it's going to be pretty good. Since I just installed dbrand on my phone and I want to show it off, for now I'm going to be using the transparent flexi case from Orzly, that is unless Spigen makes a case like this one.
