Hi Guys,
Before i start i'm a complete newbie to this forum! Dont know anything, so go easy on me!!
i sent my galaxy s2 back to samsung under warranty after i lost my network coverage.
They sent it back stating that it had lost the imei and baseband due to excessive use or water damage? out with warranty!! neither as it was only 2 months old!!
So i sent it to a repair company, same result they couldnt fix. They did offer to dispose of it for me as they said it was totally dead, turns out after i demanded it back that i can still use it for wifi etc.
can it be fixed or have i just got a nice screen?

Originaly i thought it was due to omega rom.
but i have now flashed a stock rom and the same problem is occuring.
I have compared it with a friends s3 and his works perfectly as mine used to.
do not know what the problem could be
i bought the phone from Ebay brand new about a week after the phone was released.
how can i get a new handset or this repaired, how long will it take
can anyone shed any light on the situation, really frustrated as i finally found a rom and setup i was happy with (battery life etc was finally perfect and than this hardware problem )

That is what happed this morning:
Woke up, whatsapp for a bit, suddenly, reboot itself, stuck in siya logo.
waited for 30mins, no luck, hard turn off (long press power button)..
after that, no more reboot, no download mode, no CWM, try the three button trick no luck, remove battery and three button trick no luck......
Here is what I have done with my phone before, It runs perfectly for like months:
Resurrection Remix Rom 2.2
Siyah Kernal (latest S2 version)
BLN
Overclock (200-1300) but stable with siyah
Apex launcher...
I sincerely beg for all genius developers to give me a hand...........
Try a download jig and see if that makes it respond.

my phone is out of warranty plus flashed count.......
plus still looking for a shop that do jtag in sydney...
...
Call wireless provider tell them a crazy story about an accident you had and your phone is crushed and bloody and if they provide upgrade then ask for an early upgrade due to no warranty that is what I did for my $3

If there is jo Jtag shop in Syndey, you can send it overseas for Jtag repair. But I suppose it costs a lot of money.
Alternatively, you can send it to Samsung, play stupid (phone didnt turn on this morning) and keep your fingers crossed.
Wish you luck mate.

Could anyone shed some light on all these bricked phones that were bricked out of the blue - without users fault? I mean, there are so many threads about bricking phones while doing nothing - the phone was just normally used, or even with the screen off, and it just turned off by itself/rebooted itself/froze and there was no way to recover it... Similar thing happened to me month ago - I was on a safe stock 4.0.3 ROM with safe kernel (mmc_cap_erase disabled), I have just started a game that I play regularly, the screen froze, I have waited for some time, then tried to do a hard reboot, got stuck at booot logo, and that was it. Recovery was erased - no way to enter it, download mode was still alive but it was stuck while trying to flash anything - there was an error while trying to write rom, kernel etc. I had to sent it to repair centre...
Thos was just an example, one of many. So, the question is - is this bad Samsung hardware in action, or software bugs that are causing hardware malfunctions or something else? I mean, I had few HTC Android phones before, and I have never saw anything like SGS2 Q&A forum - every second thread is about bricked phone...
Any thoughts?
I think people jump in with both feet without doing much research.I don't blame them,as I just flashed RR3 and I didn't fancy reading 62,000 posts.
Plus its a very popular phone,so maybe its only a tiny %age that are faulty.

Hey guys, so I've had the S2 for a while and one day it shut off on me and started vibrating. After I pulled the battery, it never turned on again. It doesn't charge. Last night I decided to screw around with it again and pulled the battery out several times, put it back in and the only thing I could get the phone to do was have the camera flash randomly flash for some reason, while the phone was still off! Can someone give me some advice or help so maybe I can save this phone? Thank you.
Pull out battery again pu**** inside...
Hold Volume Down + Home + Power Button
And tell me if you are able to get into download mode.
Peace
Hit Thanks & It will Disappear

T-Mobile USA? If yes, that is a different model phone than this forum is for. T-Mobile in the States has model SGH-T989. The forum for that model is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1329

Do you really need to open all these threads?
You require a fix for a broken motherboard ???? .
#|what else can you do but have it replaced .
XDA is yet to find a method of flashing a new motherboard .
STOP opening multiple threads on the same subject its very childish .

""Hello friends, without any ado, I would go straight to my problem!""
I am a flashaholic and flash my i9100g every now and then whenever there is a new update for my ROM.
After about 12 to 13 flashes, I am getting this screen problem..... After switching on the phone, for 1 to 2 seconds, my screen flickers with horizontal colored lines!
CHECK THE SCREENSHOT!
AND PLZ HELP ME A.S.A.P.!!
Back to stock, test. If OK with stock, clean install of custom rom, test. If obvious problem with custom rom, ask the dev of said rom.
Thanks
Thanks a lot for your quick reply, but I've tried installing the stock ROM...... maybe I'll ask ryuinferno
Anyways, thanks!! :good:
If it's happening with stock it's a hardware problem. Take it to mobile repair shop (or a Samsung service centre if it has warranty), or replace the screen yourself if you're confident enough & are able to definitely diagnose it's just the screen that's causing the issues.

Ofcourse it doesn't have warranty becoz its rooted and the counter says 15..... so SAMSUNG PEOPLE will charge me if i repair it......
Maybe I will diagnose it a bit more and see if it works!!
Problem solved!
Thanks to ryuinferno! Actually, I was using a ICS bootloader..... All i needed was a JB bootloader which i got from this link: >>Repository<<
