As you can see my Wi-Fi is trying to turning on but it gets stuck. When i try to turn it on my phone gets really hot on the top side of the phone.
Im on dutch original rom ICS 4.0.3 (build version IML74K.XWLPD)
Tried restarting my phone & factory resetting my phone, is there more i can try?

Have you changed the kernel?

not that i know of. How do i do that?

Reboot ur phone and reboot ur

AFAIK, wifi, bluetooth and gsm transmitter are controlled by modem.
If you already tried changing kernel, and that did not help (For kernels I recommend siyah or dorimanx), you should try to install a new modem and RIL.
Check out this topic, it may shed some lilght on modems and ril.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881304
If that does not help, try flashing another rom. Finnaly, if that does not work, I suggest you check it for hardware malfunctions at a proper Gsm service.
Hope I helped and good luck!!

Restarting phone doenst help

Wi-Fi is controlled by kernel.

This was a known bug in 4.0.3 bed 4.0.4 fixed this problem.
Did for me anyway!

Wifi is not controlled by modem. It's controlled by the kernel

Oh oky, I'm sorry..live and learn right? [ashamed]
On the other hand, if you decide to flash stock 4.0.4, I also recommend flashing a different kernel to avoid the hard brick bug that is present in 4.0.4

[Q] Help me solve this issue?

Hi everyone. I have been having this wifi issue where I can't get the wifi radio to turn on. I've went into the service menu and took some shots of what my configurations look like.
Can anyone tell me if the settings look odd or if something isn't the way it's supposed to be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, actually, as far as I know the phone has only been unlocked without rooting or flashing.
I've bought it second hand. So that's the information that I am aware of.
Go into settings, about phone and if you have DooMkernel in kernel version you have to flash the coresponding wifi module. It's better if you can take a picture of the phone in that menu so we can figure out what wifi module you need.

Hi, I've taken a photo of the kernel version. Also took another one of the status menu.
Thanks for helping me out
I can see that you don't have a custom kernel on your phone. I really don't know what is the problem. When you activate the wifi is the phone searching for an wifi network or is it return an error message?
Wifi MAC and bluetooth MAC addresses are not available. Try repairing ROM via SEUS, because that is most definitely your problem. Unsure if my solution will fix it.
try flashing Doom's Wifi Module for stock kernel

in this "10_gb_DooMKernel-v05-FS_wifi modules" link is there try downloading and flashing it..

right under the 'wifi' word, it says 'error'. So I can't even turn on the wifi 'radio'/receiver.

I'm not really familiar with flashing. Is it like overwriting the original OS with an open source one? Is there a chance of bricking my phone?

[Q] missing serial number. (LPH based rom) VodafoneAU i9100T>LPH based rom.

Ok so I just got a brand new Galaxy s2 FREE from Vodafone AU... well not exactly, after crap reception and a $500 bill direct debited from my account for excess data I never used, they gave it to me outright. Bribe 3 months before my contract expires I guess.
Firstly I'm NOT a NOOB been flashing for 18months on my old SGS1 and do know a bit.
-So I started with a stock GTi9100T phone...
NOTE: After much google action I discovered that the GTi9100T is IDENTICAL to the standard SGS2 as far as I can tell except that is has a lower SAR output. Unlike the i9100G there are NO T-specific hardware or firmware differences (except possibly the modem or trivial rom settings) and no separate sources either.
-Then I flashed a CF-rooted stock kernel (KF2 i think) matching the stock firmware via Odin.
-Next I downloaded Foxhound Batista 0.2 ICS XXLPH based rom and flashed via CWM recovery. I came in two parts and I must have missed the correct seequence because the rom bootlooped.
I decided to format every partition except sdcard and flash CF-root kernel via Odin again.
-This time Foxhound flashed sucessfully.
-Now I did forget to backup my IMEI (facepalm) easy to do when you have a FREE SGS2 in your hands. IMEI survived fine but the Serial number in setting> phone is "Unkown"
-Now my questions are:
-Does the serial number listed as unknown cause any phone-identity problems like a missing/corrupt IMEI?
-Can I fix this with .md5 backups in my EFS folder or any other way easily?
-Is it caused by still having GB bootloaders running ICS?
-will a sammy stock firmware flash (3-file low-level + pit/repartion) fix it like IMEI issues?
-Is is something to do with having GTi9100 rom running on a GTi9100T device?
Thanks in advance peoples, happy to join your area of XDA
Edit: So I finally found a discussion touching on this in the CM9 thread but it reveals very little:

Serial problem ???
jje
You need new ics boot loader, ics stock ROM to fix that serial....
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
I've never used a custom rom that does show the serial number in settings, and I only used stock for a week when I first got my phone & don't remember if it showed up using stock.
Either way, it's irrelevant. What possible issue could arise whether settings/about phone showed your serial number or not ? As long as your IMEI is good/not showing the generic '0044' one, it's all good.
People getting in a tizz about nothing on here as per usual.
Custom kernels than might lose it again
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
It's the new ICS feature, it shows serial in about phone, and yes it does nothing, but it sure bug when you see unknown.... So update to latest stock and it will be fixed. Easy. As I said, custom kernels again can make it unknown.

I agree. Had the same problem and after full wipe and reinstall, it got fixed...
Athough I dont have idea why it happens... anyone knows?
Don't assume its your router thats the problem straight away, you could be creating more work for yourself. From your screen shots it seems like a problem with your phone, in that it hangs on 'Turning Wifi On'. First try connecting to another router, at a friends or family, wifi hotspot etc, if that didn't work or you can't get access to one then back up your files with Titantium etc and reflash your rom. If you're using an offical rom, see if you can reinstal it. Make sure you have good charge before doing anything, like i said you don't want to be creating more work for yourself
I know the SGSII wifi does play up from time to time, mine always drops the wifi connection after a period of idle (sleep policy is set to disabled). I just have to turn it of and put it back on a again, a minor inconvenience. You could also try a Harry Potter fix ' fix permissions in recovery'. The reason i say this is fix permissions is designed to ensure that app data matches the apps properly, prevents force closes etc. As this seems like an hardware issue it might not apply, but no harm in trying.
Flashing a new modem may also help correct wifi related issues, someone correct me there if i'm wrong
Pull out the plug on the router... then put it back in
Maybe try another kernel (if it's not a router issue). WiFi drivers are in the kernel (modem doesn't control WiFi).

[Q] I hope this is a stupid question...

I've made to the point of flashing Bamf Rezound Ics V2.0 on my only-hours-old Rezound and I've got a couple issues i can't figure out.
First, I cannot get any version of wifi tether to work. It LOOKS like it's working, but nothing find's it's signal.
Second, whenever I flash a kernel I get "main version older" in the bootloader update.
Not sure what I'm missing, but I could use some easy help.
There is a zip somewhere on xda that you flash prior to flashing the rom to nix the main version issue, makes it a really low number. Not sure about tethering, I don't use it.
Sent from my Rezound
What version of wifi tether? Also make sure you are using the app that comes up first when searching for wireless tether. Should look like this when opened:

Before going and flashing kernels, make sure they are ICS kernels. So it can be compatible with your rom. Also if you like BAMF, give Nilsp business sense Rom a try.

I'm the kind of geek who typically flashes a lot more kernels than ROMs. The problem I was having with flashing kernels was tied to the main version, which the .zip tool fixed. I flashed an older kernel (possibly GB/AOSP?) at first that basically soft bricked the phone, but reflashing the ROM fixes that easy enough. I was VERY close to going to Nils B-ICS because it had Wifi Tether built in and working, but the solution to my problem was in his "Added and Modded". Had to change the profile and check "Routing Fix" like his OP says.
So, the whole solution to my problem was flash the versionLOW.zip, then the ROM, then the kernel, then install Wifi Tether, change the profile, and check Route Fix. If I'd flashed Business Sense first, I probably wouldn't have had any of these issues, but I didn't.
The answers were there, but i just didn't read enough to know what the tools I was looking at were for.
As always, it's great to be at XDA.

phone network problem

I am having a problem in the Internet network

I was able to be activated and the back of my Internet code top of the screen

But when you go to your phone works alone and enters and emerges from application to application I can not control it, and even if you are able to access the Web page doing the zoom alone and moving in a full page from right to left and vice versa. When you make a connection and writes numbers alone only numbers 123 and repeat as in the picture
And when you disable the Internet network is working normally, and I can control it well.
You switch card sim, but the same problem with this network.
I used another phone network. And enter the apn settings, but does not work with me
Note: The phone settings are good. Settings apn good. And the net works well with wifi
I install a new ROM and original, but the same problem
