Evo V and Evo 3D - HTC EVO 3D

My evo 3D is flashed to Virgin mobile. Is it safe for me to just flash an Evo v Rom to my phone?

I have an Evo V and I've flashed just about every ROM there is to flash. If it's working on VM, it doesn't really matter what the ROM is, so long as it works for the 3D.

Any CDMA ROM should work.

Would i have to change the hboot? or can i just keep 1.4 like i do now.

Depends on the rom. The rom's thread will give you recommended firmware.
sudo passwd root

My phone wont brick if i flash an hboot thats not made for the Sprint Evo 3D?

If you don't know what you are doing, best to just leave it alone.

As long as you flash a CDMA hboot it should be fine.

Im pretty sure if he flashed a hboot meant for like a samsung galaxy 3, he could brick his phone. Just stick to cdma evo 3d hboots to be safe.

No. I didnt mean it that way. I ment that if i flash an Evo V hboot to Evo 3D there wouldnt be a problem. Its perfectly fine right?

Yes, I'm sure HTC is developing bootloaders for Samsung.

Won't a ROM bootloop if it is for virgin mobile and its flashed on a sprint hboot?

X515A Rogers EVO 3D owners, help me out!

Hello!
I recently purchased a EVO 3D from a member here. Little did i know that it was on a custom rom, rooted and all that non-sense. Either way, I got a soft brick and would really just like to get the stock rom on the phone. Could any of you provide me with a x515a rom? Even a nand would do if considerable. Right now i cannot find a original rom accept for one of the devs on this board via PM, which wants money for it.
A developer on this forum should not be charging you money for a rom, you need to report this developer to the mods.

Went back to stock and rooted it, deleted all the Rogers apps via Titanium backup (im in the US so they dont work anyway). I like stock, ive always liked stock roms the most. Less bugs, less issue and in this case, better battery life. Its always been that case for me tho .

Just a quick follow-up... if I download the original Rogers RUU from the thread and flash that, will it revert totally back to stock? I need to send my device back to Rogers but I had used Revolutionary to get S-Off and also root.

[Q] HBOOT 1.49.1107 question

Hi guys!I have a simple(I believe so) and maybe noob question but I wanna be sure about something.I have recently rooted my 3VO and I had to downgrade to HBOOT 1.49.007 in order to do so.I have flashed the leaked Virgin Mobile ROM with Sense 3.6 and ICS BUT I HAVEN'T FLASHED THE FIRMWARE.ONLY THE ROM!
I saw that my HBOOT has gone to 1.49.11007.Now,my question is:is this bad or does this affect my device by any means?(EVO 3D GSM)If i want can I unroot and receive OTA updates, can I downgrade HBOOT,etc...?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

S off is what you want, bit ota only works on stock ruu

Thanks!(I have already hit the thanks button).Since you are very helpful(I am glad that someone experienced told me that upgrading bootloader didn't affect the phone) can you explain me something else?I have had this problem since installing custom ROMS.
If i shut down the phone and plug the charger in,the red LED goes on for about 3 seconds than goes back off, than back on and stays so,and in the morning when I power on the phone it says that I have around 60-70% battery(even though the LED is green).
If I charge the phone while on ,the LED stays red and the phone charges to 100%(but it won't come down to 95,then again 100 and so on).I have downloaded a battery calibration app and I have thoroughly followed the instructions(charge to 100,calibrate,discharge,charge to 100).
Will this eventually destroy my battery? Is anything wrong with this situation?
Thanks in advance
Nobody knows what this could mean?

Is there a rooted (official OTA version) ICS rom for Evo 3d?

My Evo 3D is unlocked, s-off, and running hboot 1.4. I know the OTA update for ICS and Sense 3.6 was just released, but I was wondering if there was a version of that update available that would allow me to upgrade without locking my phone or turning s-on? In other words a clean upgrade (preferably something i can flash from my phone) from android version 2.3.4 to 4.X (whatever the OTA update will upgrade me to) and HTC sense from 3.0 to 3.6. I couldn't find anything when I googled it, and the only thing close to what I was looking for here (hopefully I missed it and my answer is somewhere among the threads) required the wire trick, which im not 100% comfortable with.

If you unlocked and s-off you can flash almost anything you want, the wire trick is for s-on , you need s-off the flash the new firmware that is required fir ics, go to cdma devel. Section

You're already S-OFF, which means the wire trick doesn't apply, because the wire trick gives you S-OFF.
If you want the stock, rooted OTA, I would look here:

As long as you have s-off you're fine, the relocked thing doesn't matter, that happens to pretty much everyone who flashes the new fw s-off, don't worry about it.

Please help a noob

So I'm kinda a noob, at least for HTC. I have a VM 3D rooted s off. My question is I have tried to install ZR3D rom, but all i can get is a boot loop. my bootloader says juopunitbear 1.57.5757, is this my issue? I was thinking the loop is due to bootloader. I did run factory wipe, and dalvik/cache, installed using 4EXT. Can someone help please?

The sense rom I had in mind is Frozen with sense 4.1. I have read and reread OP carefully, but no mention of bootloader version, but I also had problems flashing it. Sounds like a bad download. The latest version is 3.0 final episode. I used jbear 1.58 hboot for that rom when I had it and it ran great. For you the 1.57 hboot should work fine. Only problem with sense 4 roms is the low volume. Just an FYI.
