[Q] CM9 AOSP and MONO sound output issues - HTC Rezound

Is anyone else having any issues with sound not outputting in stereo with any CM9 AOSP ROMs? I have tried all of the CM9 AOSP ROMs out for the Rezound and I seem to have an issue with sound outputting only in MONO. I believe the right audio channel is the one missing. In the song "kill you" by dethklok (best example I can offer, do a search at youtube and listen to know what Im talking about since I cant post any links) after the drum intro a guitar begins to play through the right audio channel and shortly after is play through both left and right audio channels. However, I can't hear the right audio channel because of the MONO sound output issue. This issue occurs in any method of output: headphones, bluetooth, and loud speaker.
I've done some research and this seems to be an issue with a lot of devices running any CM from 7-10. Since I'm new and can't post this is any of the ROM threads, I'm trying to raise awareness via Q&A. So if anyone out there also has this issue as well, please help me raise awareness of this so we can hopefully get a developer's attention!

I had it in mono one time but a reboot fixed it.
BTW, mono sound is also considered the left channel.

Thanks for the reply. A reboot solved the issue as far as headphone output is concerned. However, loud speaker output is sill messed up. It now outputs both audio channels but the right audio channel is extremely quiet. With the volume at max, the right audio channel is as if the volume is at the minimum setting.
Not a deal breaker anymore since I use headphone output 95% of the time.
Thanks again, I love your ROM.

Bluetooth headset connects but can't stream audio

My Motorola H17 pairs and connects to my TP but there's no sound when playing music or audio. It works fine with my Optimus V phone using the BT-Mono app to redirect the sound out to the headset. I've tried BT-Mono which appears to function correctly (no errors etc), but when I switch it over no audio through the H17 although the tablet speaker is muted as it should be.
Is there something else I need to do on the Prime to switch the sound over, is it an incompatibility issue with this headset, or is there another app that would work? I've searched a bit and apparently others with BT headsets get them working with TP, but also found very little on the subject. Perhaps it's the lack of phone functionality with some headsets? I'd try another brand/model if I was sure it would work.
Thanks for any help.
Get audio manager from the market, there is both pay and free, pay attention to incall volume. It worked for me, seems incall volume is defaulted to zero at least in my case.

Jawbone Jambox Bluetooth Speaker Problem - No Output

Hello All,
I have just purchased the Jawbone Jambox. Very nice bit of kit and the sound is great.
When I pair with my laptop, it works no problem outputting the sound from Spotify or Movies etc.
When I try and play music from my handset, it just comes out the handsets speakers even though it is paired. The same for games and video.
I have an HTC Desire with Cyanogen 7 installed.
The Jambox has a built in mic and works fine when paired as a hands free setup. I hear the phone ringing from the speakers so that proves it is working.
The Question????????????
I have done a bit of reading and have found some posts talking about on the iPhone, you can set what the phone outputs the sound to. ie. The Jambox rather than the builtin speaker.
I have not been able to find anything like that for the ROM I am using or even mention of it for other Android handsets.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Am I stuck with plugging it in or will another ROM solve the issue.
Thanks for your help in advance.....
Have you tried looking under the settings of the Jawbone Jambox? It should be located under the Bluetooth settings, then options of the Jambox. There should be two types of audio that can be directed. One is Phone audio, and the other is Media audio. Make sure the Media audio box is checked. I own one myself and have had no issues connecting. If all else fails, you might have to try another ROM.
Good luck.

Speaker crackling

Anybody else having problems with the speaker crackling on certain songs or in certain games? It sounds like a blown speaker but it is only certain songs or games that do it everytime while the others sound great every time.
You answered your own question...
Audio issues are often the source, not the device...
we have very few audio related threads, so my guess is crappy source. Unless you have changed players, or roms...g
You are right about the source but I don't understand why the music from games would be this way. I did recently install poweramp.

It's possible that the audio format of the game, is not fully supported by the player.
I suggest trying a different player to confirm this.
If the result is unchanged, we may need to explore the frequency ranges being accessed and utilized by the device.
I suppose it's possible that the source audio is being played at a range beyond the capacity of the speaker.
A good headphone set should give us the answer to that ....g

Mono audio for one hear deaf

Hello,
I try to found an app for my non-rooted nexus 4 to put the sound in mono because i'm hear of one hear. But I couldn't find it on the play store. I know poweramp has a mono output channel but i need to have mono output for spotify. Does it exists?
There are equalizer apps out there that can modify real time audio, but I haven't seen any that can blend L-R or force mono that I know of.
This can be done with external modification to the headphones or a patch cable. The left audio output could be sent to both the left and right ears by connecting both wires to the left giving you mono. Or stereo blend can be done by shorting the left and right wires together. I'm not sure if this is bad for the sound hardware. You may be able to find prebuilt adapters that do this for you.

Bluetooth audio distortion

Anyone else noticing slight distortions when it comes to listening to music on the LG G6 (US997)? It's like listening to a lower quality song before it becomes high-quality 320kbps, except it goes like that for any song, even songs stored on the phone. This occurs over Bluetooth. I haven't tested plugged in.
Do you have any other bluetooth accessories connected at the same time? I found my smart watch impacts music streaming quality over bluetooth
I have this same issue. It seems like the phone had trouble handling multiple Bluetooth connections. Mine sounds like a static/crackle on every speaker that I use.
I am hoping there are some Bluetooth fixed coming with Oreo.

Mine had a hissing sound on the car's bluetooth, solved it by seting the audio settings from stereo to mono, weird problem dough
I did sone playing around and it seems to be fixed after clearing dalvik/caxhe and caxhe through twrp. I don't experience the issue anymore. Might just be me, but give it a try and see if it works for you.
