Can i flash a t-mobile Rom to my at&t note??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Yes but it will be very laggy. Be sure to backup your phone before you do.
I'm not certain why the tmo rom is an advantage ...
Is it for apps ? Or something else inside ?
But yes ....laggy at best ...g

Here it is guys north america generic official firmware 4.0.A.2.368 ready to download. It works as it should I flashed it to my phone first before uploading. It almost seems like my signal strength is much better and more consistant than I had with the R800i FW, just an observation tho have fun!

I have a r800x will this brick my phone??
Sent from my R800x using XDA Premium App
I'm not too sure about the r800x don't they need the specific verizon firmware because its a CDMA phone and the rest are GSM. I would check that out first cause you don't want to brick your phone

Will try the r800a generic on my R800i. Will post how it works

it might not brick your phone but you will definitely not be able to make calls or send/receive data as it is for an GSM device and not for CDMA, so do not flash it.
Eh I got a BooTloop on R8OOi, maybe cuz of not wiping data?
I used the XDA App to post this, what did you use?
I have a R800i (australia)
Its unlocked and I bought it outright, is this firmware going to be better than the generic UK version?
Just in case anyone is wondering, or doesn't plan this part out ahead (like me...) - flashing this will break root. You'll have to downgrade to the global ROM, root and update OTA. I didn't think of any of this ahead of time, and had to learn the hard way. Keep that in mind ....

Any word on battery life so far with this one compared to i version?

If you have an unlocked bootloader Doomlord's latest v3 kernel works - pre-rooted and with recovery. Just tested, working great!
working perfect, great battery life, full root access with doomlord's newest kernel.
Thank you very much for the rom!
Thanks 1+!
I've been looking to get a hold an R800a firmware, thanks!

I have the Xperia_play_Release_Generic_UK.ftf, which is the UK rom. Where do i get the NA rom? I searchs XDA forums but none came up.
Does this Rom has the battery drain problem?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
can i use this rom with my r800at (ATT)?
If its a gsm phone then have at it but if its cdma it will most likely brick it

Anyone using this on Rogers? Is there any bloatware on this? I was thinking about flashing to this (currently on UK generic R800i), but will lose root since bootloader is locked.

I've flashed a T-mobile modem and using with the HSPA+ for awhile, however the Saurom ROM I'm using has some bugs like I can't reboot my phone properly and I sometimes lost signals, so my question is: if I want to flash my Note back to stock android, am I gonna lose the capability of using the HSPA+ which I'm using right now? Is there any ROM you would recommend that would be stable for the Note and still have the T-mobile modem enabled? Please give me an answer because I've been confused with this for awhile. God bless you all...
Question
Anybody? Please?
I'm using Saurom 7.1 and ICS theme on,Blaze modem and its been running great. It isn't as fast speedwise compared to my Amaze 4g but stable and fast.

You will probably have to reflash the tmo modem. But it might still be there as others have had non-stock modems that were still there even after flashing a stock tar file.

Best way to be sure would be to flash the stock radio. Though, it would be nice to know if using Odin will put EVERYTHING back to stock.
I'll bet the answer exists on the forum already but it's a good question, regardless.

Oops. Read the question wrong. So far as i know, once you flash a radio, it's there forever. Unless you flash a new one. Depending on how someone makes their ROM, this could change, but I'm betting that most of the devs aren't worried about forcibly making the people flashing their **** switch modems.

Yes you will. I noticed that when i installed the at&t stock Rom

thanks for sharing. I've heard some infos about flashing back to stock could affect the radio, but I feel relieved when I saw this.
Dont worry about the modem in GB just flash it and it'll work
all ive heard is that the "ICS leak" doesnt play well with TMO modem
but idk to be honest
if any (currently on paranoidandroid and loving it) and after hearing T-Mobile is getting trully unlimited again wanted to see if I could just take my att one over there somo unlimited data sweetness

Not sure if this will help you, as I dont use JB, and i'm not sure if you are carrier unlocked or not. but in order to do so, you will need to be loaded with a stock rom, in order to use the unlock code you are given.
you may already know, and have done this, but you'll need to be on the rom your phone came with, if possible...
hope this helps...g
Use any modem you like. Roms and modems are independent. Don't get too excited or upset once you flash your rom/modem. It seems to take a few reboots and a few hours to settle in.
cool...dint know i had to be in stock to use an unlocked code thought
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
If its not stock, the box to enter the code never appears
but once unlock it doesn't matter if I flash the device will stay unlocked right?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
unlock is permanent.
SOLVED: I recently flashed my unlocked note back to stock 4.0.4 ics but AT&T keeps sending an update i cant and dont need to use and it keeps interrupting my internet connection.
I'm on a T-Mobile subsidiary called Family Mobile. Is there a way to permanently stop it from trying to upgrade?

Flash another stock ICS deflated rom like Flappjaxxx ULF6. You will have a great rom and no pesty notifications.

I flashed one of the roms and everything worked on it but data and calls/sms. Not sure if that's modem wise or not but I couldn't find one on here anywhere or Google to try it out. You just flash the rom and a sprint kernel after and it should boot I used the t mobile rom vision x. Any ideas to get them working?

essentially what it sounds like you are doing is a basic porting of roms. from tmobile to sprint. theres a few threads on it. problem is MMS wont work or something. i dont remember what exactly the problem was even after its ported over.
Yeah I don't no how to port I'll have to look into it. I just figured I would try and see if it would even boot since we have so little roms
