Hi, I believe my MoPho is bricked and was just trying to see if there were any recovery methods so that I would not have to send it off and lose files I had stored on my internal SD card. My problems started after I left my phone on the charger. I came back to see that it was stuck on the bootloader screen and wouldn't go any further. I was running j0kersax's MIUI ICS build and hadn't had any trouble with the rom prior to this. I've tried entering fastboot, rsd, and android recovery through the vol down+power method, but when I do it always freezes; either while I am scrolling the menus or waiting for it to boot into one of the aforementioned modes. At one point I was able to get to fastboot, but when I attempted to enter it, an error message came up saying something like "the battery is too low to flash", so I attempted to charge it. However whenever I plug it into the A/C adapter it simply starts up and stays on the boot loader. So is it possible to recover or is my photon a vegetable now?
Maybe you should SPF back to stock. You can find the release keys anywhere. This video is helpful: :victory:

thanks for the suggestion, but I can't even get the battery to charge so that I can even attempt to do this. I've accepted the brick and I'm just going to go to Best Buy and order a replacement. Thanks again.
I have the exact same problem as OP. Right now, my battery is dead, so I can't flash anything to help fix my problem. My theory on how to get this working again is to charge the battery or borrow someone elses battery so there's enough charge.
Anybody think that'll work?

I've tried a battery swap and now it won't even power on. I've yet to order a replacement, so for now I'm on an Evo.
I am kind of having the same issue I tried to flash CM10 just a few moments ago and it wont flash!?
I have flashed CM7 to my Electrify before and was trying to flash over that. Now my battery is dead, I can't boot the phone at all.
What do I do!

Okay, so recently, maybe a week ago, I unlocked bootloader, tried to root, but failed.
So I installed a recovery image to the Rezound using the clockwork mod (I believe).
Now, my phone's battery went all the way to 0% and died, and now it won't accept a charge or turn on.
Every once in a while it will turn on, but only for a minute, then shut back down.
One time, I got into ADB and tried "adb reboot" and my phone went into a sort of bootloop, but was still sort of charging.
But now the device isn't recognized and won't do it again.
Can anyone please help me?
yer gonna get bopped for not using the search function!
Anyway, this should get you started...
Flash AmonRa. Clockwork has issues around charging if the battery goes completely dead.

Hey guys i've a problem with my x10
So one night i was playing with it than the other day the phone would start
so i thought yeah right might be the battery or something. i took it to my friends x10 it was with 87% charged so i exclude this
Than i tried to flash with flashtool a new kernel and i get stuck at 9% or 15% depending on the kernel i use.
With SEUS it starts to repair but it says. No new updates avaiable after a few moments.
Some information regarding my phone
Unlocked Bootloader
FXP KERNEL
MM TEAM MIUI V4
The phone vibrate but doesn't start or load the kernel.
What do i do?!
Srry for my bad english
Thx in advance
Usrle flashtool to reflash kernel or firmware.
already did but i get stuck at 9% or 15% flashing the kernel
I'm downloading a full generic rom x10a
having similar problem
Hi, I had similar problem as well
X10i running FXP CM7 suddenly just wont boot n charge after I turn off the phone
it wont boot after flashing anything (firm or kernel) except the official firm
now that I end up with a cap R bootloader but flashtool claim that bootloader is rooted
do I still keep the bootloader unlock?
i guess you have a locked bootloader since the original firmware is loading just fine even tho rooting has nothing to do with the bootloader it self. i'm only guessing.
I'm stuck at. Flashing Loader
I bricked my phone last week and it got stuck in a boot loop.
I downloaded the x10a generic Stock ROM and flashed it via Flashtool and it worked like a charm.
Hope this helps.

You get brick when u get those 3 blink red LED and the phone doesn't do anything
By the fact that your phone were able to load the kernel. i guess
same problem repeat
Hi, just confirm that the bootloader remain unlock as long as the flashtool claim its ROOTED
had you try other than official 2.3.3 ftf?
because I just got the same unable to boot problem repeated again
this time cant get boot on even stock 2.3.3 firm
but I was able to boot up and charge on 2.1, then get root, recovery and kernel (w/o unlock bootloader again) and go straight to custom ROM with no problem

Anyone?
guys?
you said your phone is "bricked"
I'm not sure if you know what that means.
If you say you've bricked your phone then no one can help you.
A brick is a brick. It doesn't matter if it weighs a few kgs or a few hundred grams. A brick can't receive phone calls.
And your phone isn't even a normal brick... You wrote that it's "really bricked"
Are you building a house anytime soon?

The red led blinking rapidly three times means the battery is "out of juice".
I've said it earlier: Several X10 devices have reached an age, where battery failures are fairly common due to charge cycles and/or age. Specially if one got it just after the launch.
Anyhow, what you can do, is let the device charge "blindly" for a while, and a while I mean for half an hour to a few hours. Then it should, out of the blue, jump into "active" charging (With the battery screen showing offline charging)
If this doesn't happen you might have to charge the battery externally.
...or even replace the battery.
-"Why?", one might ask.
Reason is that the flash mode only works with a charged battery.
If it empty, it won't engage the flash mode at all. Stupid design, yes, but that is how it is.
Worst thing is, that the battery does deplete/discharge while in flashing mode. That is why it's so important it's fully charged and fully working, before one engages in flashing activities.
See this post for more information about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642154

Well, if the battery issue was fixed, and you're sure the battery is fully charged, then try this: (Quoting from my other post)
I've charged/replaced the battery, and are having trouble with starting up. Earlier flash failed. Now what?
Don't worry. It's pretty darn hard to truly brick this device. Even if the screen remains black, there's still hope.
Once that the battery issue has been dealt with, you can move on:
Download the latest Flashtool and the proper global firmware (FTF-file) for your device from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ight=flashtool
1: Extract/Install the Flashtool to a folder of your liking.
2: Copy the ftf-file to the "firmware" folder in the Flashtool folder you just created above.
3: Start Flashtool. Click the Bolt icon (flash). A Window appear. There, choose "flashmode". Cllick OK.
4: A new window appears. In the list on the left, choose the Generic firmware you downloaded and copied into the "firmware" folder. Should have a similar name as the file itself. (Or manually open the ftf-file from the "..." icon on the top right.)
5: Hit "OK. Follow the instructions you get on the screen:
1 - Unplug the device.
2 - Power off the device. (Unplug and replug the battery to be sure it really off, and not stuck in black screen)
3 - Press the "back" putton, and hold it down while performing the next task.
4 - Plug the device into the computers USB.

Hi @almomdegal,
if you try flash using another full charge batt n its not work, I think this forum is no longer works for u anymore.
I own a faulty X10 as well, random shut down (no warning at all) then wont boot n charge
reflash it, revive for few days and dead again, and reflash....
now it is really dead, no problem appears and it show flash successful and it just wont boot or charge but vibrate non stop
I just send the phone to service center and the board need to be replace
so its time to send to the real professional to solve it, coz this problem ain't software downloaded from internet can solve anymore

I just tried flashing Android Revolution to my phone. I went through the whole set up process. Went to reboot then it went blank. Nothing. I get nothing when I plug it in. The computer doesn't recognize any device attached to it. I've tried removing the battery. If I leave the battery out for an extended period of time, when I place it back in the phone, my camera flash flashes really quick then back to nothing. It's as if the phone is completely dead. When I flashed the rom my battery was at 90%. I've used various roms on different phones and this was the first time I did it to my Galaxy s3 and this is the first time it's ever happened. Talk about frustrating. Any help would be appreciated but I'm not holding my breath. It doesn't look good.
Congratulations!
You're phone is now a piece of brick!
Board failure!
If your phone goes to download mode you can repair it by jtag and if it doesn't power on anyway and it's still under warranty, you can ask them to change your phone or repair that.
Cause there's no way to understand you've installed a custom os

Fairly certain I did but I'm pretty sure it's a moot point now. If I could get any sign of life, I'd use Odin to unbrick and go back to stock. Anyhow for now, it makes a great paper weight.
Hi there!
This thread is my last hope, so please dont let me down folks...:cyclops:
The story short - one sunny morning i turned on my HTC Nexus One and it got stuck with te X on the screen for about 15 minutes, non of the buttons responded, so i did the first thing that came in my mind - i pulled out the battery. After inserting the battery the phone went full brick, i mean literally, no reaction on anything, even conected to the wall charger, there is no sign of life, no charging LED, nothing. Connected to the PC, it says USB device not recognised.
I dont think this is a hardware proble, the phone workwd fine until this interrupted power on. Phone runned on stock Androud, i have not played aroun with it - no bootloader unlock, no rooting.
I searched the internet for a solution, tried a lot of button combinations like in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069032
but still no luck, i cannot restore or flash it while my PC does not recognise the phone.
Found some info about those Usb Jig things, but they work only on Samsung phones, so, is there a way to force the phone to go in recovery mode, or give any sign of life so i can try to recover it or flash a diferent ROM?
The warranty has ended, so no hope there.
Hope there is a way out of this, and, sory for my bad english. :good:

Well no, bricked is a term used when you are rooted and flash a bad rom, kernel, etc. You have no root, so you cannot be "bricked". Just a software failure, you cannot flash another rom because, again, you have no root or custom recovery. Your best bet is trying to send it back to your carrier and get it replaced

Now the screen may not show, but try booting into fastboot mode by press and hold the Trackball+Power buttons together.
I'm not sure about the nexus one, but newer nexus devices have factory images, supplied by Google. If they exist for the nexus one, you should be able to save your device by flashing them through fastboot. That is if the images exist and you can get to fastboot.

Hey Guys, im desperate..
two days ago i charged my phone overnight as i normally do. Woke up and it was in SOD, which happens all the time (agni kernal, no fix yet).. Pulled the battery, but phone wouldnt boot. Turns out, it freezes during booting resulting in what appears to be a frozen boot loop.
Then i tried to plug it into my recharger, and it was showing a grey battery icon and was frozen on that screen always, the screen doesnt turn off, the battery icon isn't showing that its charging. doesnt change, just shows the same empty battery grey icon with the refresh circle-arrow in the middle.
I tried taking the battery out leaving it out for 5 minutes, draining the battery from the phone by holding the power button for 10 seconds, then trying to charge the phone. Same issue, only showing the grey battery icon when trying to charge and it never changes or goes away.
SO i tried to boot up the phone, but it wont go past the samsung text logo.
I tried entering recovery, but it just freezes on the samsung text logo.
I can not enter download mode either. So ihave no way to run odin from what i can tell.
Im losing my mind here, ive tried almost everything i can think of. And would really appreciate any help on this. It feels like a hard core brick.. I LIVE on my phone due to work and im losing money every day i dont have it. DESPERATELY need this. HELP!!
DatacomGuy,
A usb jig will probably be able to force the phone into download mode again so you can restore it with Odin. If you're up to it, you can do a Google search to get instructions on how to make your own.... or you can buy one online pretty cheap. Here's one on eBay (USB JIG) that looks good with good feedback from the seller.
Thank you.. Ill order one today and report back.
What could have gone wrong you guys think? How did the phone just do this?
I guess no way to get my pics off huh?
I hope the jig will work for you so you can restore the phone back to stock 4.1.2 and start over fresh.
I'm not sure what would have caused the phone to have started boot looping like that. My guess would be that something got corrupted.
There's a thread in the general section on how to Odin flash the stock recovery onto the phone so you can wipe cache and do a factory reset.... (EDIT: Click here to go to the thread) . This is a long shot, but if you can get the phone back into download mode with the jig, you could try installing the stock recovery and just wiping cache without doing the factory reset... then see if you can get the phone to boot up so you can recover stuff off of it.
As far as the pictures go, they may have been saved to the external sd card. You could pop the sd card into another phone if you've got another functioning phone laying around... or use a sd card adapter to mount it straight onto your computer so you can check.
The jig did the trick.. thank god..
The flashing stock recovery did not work. I ended up going back to stock firmware.. 4.1.2 i think..
Thank God i have this back.. Thanks SO much for your help.
