Okay, so you may know what this is already - Linda sounds for your phone... read the whole post please.
For this version I rebuilt most sounds from scratch, and solved the mystery of the boot sound. All sounds properly maximized with a touch of reverb added, and I put some effort into figuring out some proper levels for the sounds, so it does not get irritating.
If the bootanimation for your phone has been changed, I cannot guarantee the proper working of the startup sound. Other than that it should work no matter what you have theme wise, as only sounds are being changed. Flash it after your theme is flashed and you will overwrite whatever sounds are there.
Startup - "Welcome to Android 2.2.1, the system is now loading"
Shutdown - The system is shutting down, goodbye"
Battery Low - " Battery level critical, please connect charger"
USB connection - "USB connected, battery charging"
Did not add the lock sounds because they annoy me, and the dialer does not call for individual sounds for each key. If I get time, a Lindaphone and Lindacam app may be created in the future, but I need to learn how to decompile and recompile those files properly to get it done.
Also custom notifications for messaging, weather, email, voicemail, calendar, XDA, and instant messaging. A ringtone is also included. As a bonus, I included my personal notification, which is a trimmed up version of the air guitar sound from Bill and Ted. Just makes me smile everytime I hear it... listed as Air Guitar in your notifications.
How do you install this? Put it on your sd card and flash it in recovery. Hate it? Flash the undo and the original Bi-Winning sounds will be restored. The ringtones and notifications will stay, I am not writing a script to delete files from anyones phone. I know enough to be dangerous, but to me that is playing with fire. The notifications and ringtone take up 340k in your system. If you absolutely NEED that space back, delete the individual files in system/media/audio/notifications and /ringtone with root explorer.
Not responsible if you break your phone, blah blah. You know this. I built this for Bi-Winning, but it should work for anything ZSJPJ or ZSJPK based. The boot sound absolutely will not work on anything that is not ZSJPJ or ZSJPK. Anything else is at your own risk, but the worst thing that will probably happen is the sounds will not work as expected.
Have Fun!
I love your sounds, but I'm running bionix. I can just extract the zip and then copy and paste the sounds in the appropriate audio folder with root explorer correct?
Not interested in the boot and shutdown, just tones.
Btw, thanks for making these!

Yeah, just copy and paste with your explorer and you are good. The tones though are largely the same. The major rebuild is on the ui sounds, the rebuilding of the notifications is on my to do list for an updated version

Has anyone attempted to change or remove the sound(s) that the X2 plays on startup? I usually get 1 to 3 "DROID!" sounds when I boot my phone.
(I have turned off GMail notifications, which was the source of another "startup" sound)
Thanks!
if rooted, go into system/media/audio/notifications. change the droid.ogg to droid.ogg.bak. or use any extension. or delete. but that will get rid of the obnoxious "DROIDDDDD" on start up.
as for the two notification sounds when the screen completes bootup, i haven't found a way to disable those sounds. i tried changing the name of the notification but it played a different notification sound.
it have to do with the sd card mounting I would but there's a setting for that notifcation it's just a matter of finding it.

That's 2 them, the 3rd is a bit more tricky. To rid yourself of the boot animation sound you first need to be rooted. Copy the /system/media/bootanimation.zip to your computer, unzip it, open the desc.txt file, comment out the sound line (it's s or something, it should be obvious) save your changes and zip the files using storage only mode (no compression). Replace the edited bootanimation.zip on your phone. Reboot.
No more sounds.

Thanks
Thanks to all of you for your helpful answers!
Ideally it would be nice to know how to turn off the first noise via a setting or (or editing a conf file) instead of just renaming the file. And it might be nice to have *some* noise for the SD card operations (just not the obnoxious DROIDDD one). So if anyone comes across any more info, feel free to post it.
But again, I really appreciate the time you all took to help out with your posts, and they certainly get the job done, and make booting (as well us USB plug/unplug) a lot less annoying!
BTW, it looks like juhde has also pointed out how we can make custom startup animations by changing the desc.txt and/or png files in bootanimation.zip
Thanks!

The method I described tells you exactly how to get rid if the boot up sound.
If you want a sdcard notification other than droid.ogg, then goto settings> sound> notification ringtone> pick anything other than DROID. Of course
You'll have to check sdcard notifications if you want to hear them.

Actually, the correct way is to edit victimization.zip in /system/media. Look around the forums to learn how to edit it. You need to remove the line in desc.txt that says "s droid.ogg"

I have my sdcard notifications turned off, but I actually like the Droid sound when my phone boots up. I always listen closely and if I don't hear it then I know something is wrong.

being a fellow Whovian... here a couple of things to get ya started... LWP of the T.A.R.D.I.S. tumbling through the vortex, and boot ani's for Doctors 4, 10, and 11. if you scroll down towards the bottom of the first page of the Boot Ani thread you'll find a .zip with the theme music and the T.A.R.D.I.S. engine .mp3
EDIT: for the boot ani to be fullscreen you will need to change the resolution within the .zip
thanks

Thanks for the reply. sorry took me so long been having back issues.
the LWP is really cool, thanks for that, as for the boot ani's, had already seen them, cant seem to get sound to work and no matter how i change the resolution or actuall image size still plays as a small 1"x1" on my screen and freezes. Ill keep looking or try to see if i can actually create one myself
Hope you recover soon bro its one of the worst fractures one has to deal with (can't lie down, sit up or stand comfortably).

I'm running Chubbz-Gruesome's Sense 4.1, It's a lovely ROM and the boot animation is cool because it was clearly build from scratch, But there are much better one's that I'd love to be running on my daily driver.
I've done the file explorer and it failed and made my phone spaz out and I had to reflash the rom, that sucked...
I really want to change it. It's the only thing bothering me with the rom.
Just checked a suggested threah, should I have to rename it to the same thing after I put it in?
Solved.
ALRIGHT! Figured it out, It has to be named the same thing as the original on your rom.
Good to know that you resolved it.
Have you tried the 3D Boot Animation? It's pretty cool.

I've ran it from Paranoid android and another one, I think MIUI and it is awesome, Once I found out how to do it i SWEAR I've changed it to 15 different one's I've upzipped my entire "ROM list" which is a real folder on my C drive haha. I have around 30 roms I keep them all. For things like this.
I have a few more questions, I'm trying to find a downanimation
I wanna take an bootanimation and rename is to down and see if it'll work... Think it will?? Does anyone have any education in this area? Or maybe editing a bootanimation to make it shorter and turning it into a downanimation, I wanna take the one from "Jelly-Belly" it's the nexus thing, which is awesome, and use it as my down. Hope it'll work.
NEXT QUESTION, The rom I'm running had a .mp3 in the folder with the bootanimation, It was some transformery sound, I deleted it haha, BUT! Can I find a sound snippet of something I want, Name it the same thing, and then reboot and enjoy my awesome booy animation along with my awesome sound!!! Please tell me I can!!!

Success With the sound, Coolest phone boot EVER!! haha, Now if I only had a downanimation, Mine is just a black screen for about 5 seconds.
Can I go even further to put sound on my downanimation once I get there? I wouldn't know what to name it is the only problem there if it is doable.

Here is an idea, instead of renaming the files every time, I just put all the files where I want them.
There should be a file called default.xml in the /system/customize/CID/ directory. Open this with a text editor and you can find the sections for boot animation and shutdown animation. Here you can just insert the names and locations of the files you want to launch for bootup or shutdown.
Hope this helps.

So you're talking about this portion of the xml right?
<BootAnimation animation="/data/local/bootanimation.zip" audio="/data/local/htc_boot.mp3" />
</BootConfiguration>
<ShutdownConfiguration>
<ShutdownAnimation image_png="/system/customize/resource/hTC_downanimation.zip" image="" fps="10" />
So theoreticly I can add audio="/data/local/htc_boot_2.mp3"/> between downanimation.zip" and image ""fps="10"/>
And if can I change the downanimations name to simply "downanimation.zip" and then put a custom there named simply "downanimation.zip" would that work? or does it need to be hTC_downanimation?

Can you flash Venom tweaks over any rom? I'm running a rom with Nocturnal Tweaks, I'm not sure if you can have more than one That'd be cool though.
And I've changed my boot, Trying to change my down, And add sound to the down.
Sprint has the stock Sprint boot animation and shut down animation in /carrier/cust/poweron and /carrier/cust/power off, along with the boot and shut down sounds. These are the yellow spark animations. They also have the stock unbranded LG boot and shut down animations in /system/media.
To get rid of the yellow ones, just delete or rename the Zips and sounds(the ogg files) from /carrier/cust. This will leave you booting the stock LG animations, which have sound built in to the zip Im assuming because I don't have any sounds in there. LG Stock unbranded animations are in /system/media and you can change these to anything you like. Keep in mind, the bigger the animation the longer your boot up will take.
Deleting or disabling(rename with .bak on the end of the stock bootanimation.zip(like so, bootanimation.zip.bak)) the stock yellow animations in /carrier/cust decreases boot time significantly. The phone boots 3-4 times faster without those huge ugly yellow things.
I've seen a lot of questions about the initial LG screen with "Powered by Android" on it, the one that comes up as soon as you power on. That IS NOT a boot animation, it is the splash screen and part of the kernel. You can not change this(for now).
I made the mistake of pasting a boot animation in a random folder during a move of a few different files and forgot to move it to its proper place. I forget the exact folder it was in but it wasn't the right one(s) and it caused my animations in /system/media to stop working. So be careful. Make sure everything is named right, with the right permissions(rw-r-r), and in the right place, /system/media.
You should not have to deal with /carrier/cust after deleting the ugly yellow spark anis. All other boots and shut downs go in /system/media.
There seemed to be a ton of confusion on this and I am by no means an expert, if anyone has anything to add, feel free. I also had to write this up on Tapatalk so, sorry for that.

The boot sounds are also found in system/media/audio/ui just like on my lg optimus g. I deleted the carrier/cust/poweron and then replaced the ogg files in the audio/ui folder for my doctor who bootani.
Also the phone will boot up slower with bigger files in the bootanimation however the biggest difference is in how the bootanimation is made. What I mean specifically is the desc.txt in the bootani. Usually it looks something like
2560 1440 30
p 1 0 part0
p 1 0 part1
Top line is the resolution and fps.
second and third lines are telling it which folder to play and how(play once or loop until phone boots, etc)
BUT if the desc.txt has a 'c' instead of a 'p' before the second or third line, it forces the bootanimation to play thru its entirety before going to the home/lockscreen. So the desc.txt file above on a long bootani, the bootani would actually get cut off if it were longer than the time it takes to boot.
That's more in depth then you probably need to know unless you're making your own bootanimations(which there are already
numerous guides on xda to help you do so) but thought I'd just add it for good measure.
My cust/carrier/poweron amd poweroff folders are empty. I do see the various carrier animations in the /system/media folder though. Should we be able to simply rename the bootanimation_sprint.zip and the shutdownanimation_sprint.zip to *.bak?
Did you restore a tot?
