Paranoid Android - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
This rom looks a beast and has already been ported to the Xperia Play, Xperia Arc and the X8
Can anyone help or give guidance in getting this great rom ported to the Xperia S
My skills are very limited however with guidance I am willing to attempt it and give it a go but i need help and guidance from someone who knows a lot more about it than me
Is there anyone willing to help get this rom ported over to us on the Xperia S ?

Hi. For porting you need to select a device that is similar to the XS at least resolution wise. Your base rom would be latest CM9 or CM10. Delete the app and framework folder one by one and replace it with the folders from the PA rom. Similarly replace the bootanimation.zip in system/media. Change fields in the build.prop as they are going in the PA Rom'.
Make a zip and try flashing. If it works your luck is good but if it bootloops you need to make changes in the frameworkres.apk which requires decompiling it and stuff. I'm still learning how to do the framework part.

So the Rom from the nexus?

Would need to use latest cm9 as base as it is stable and has more working than cm10

Can we not use a Rom kitchen to port this Rom over?

got this guide going to try and port it this weekend
going to have to use cm9 version of paranoid android so camera works so thinking HD2 ?

If you want to do anything that's maintainable, build from source.

Building from source is a hell of a job and afaik this method will work for all the future updates and is tad easier than building from source
Tapatalked !!

I dont have the ability to build from source

Could look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27602914&postcount=24 I tried it with ICS, never booted.

I don't have any ability whatsoever, but I can be a tester (make sure kernel is easy to work with dual boot) and, if needed, I can give a little of my pc processing (not much).
"I got my values. So you can keep yours, OK?"

How about a paranoid android bounty thread?
Pledge donations so some developer with skill might take it on?

Rom porting

I have a couple of maybe stupid question.
What do i need to port an ics rom to my phone from another phone?
we have a semi working cm9 rom (missing camera ans fm radio), and i'd like to use another ics rom, aokp or something like that.
All the driver files i need to have are on the kernel? or there are some files that need to be changed within the rom?
Can i install a rom from a similar hardware phone and just switch the kernel?
I've always been a final user of custom roms, but i really want to learn more about android development so i can contribute to the forum
So anyone wiling to give me a tutorial?
Thanks in advance

[Q] guide about aosp jb

I've been trying to gain some knowledge about building android from source but i'm not sure where can I get the jb sources for my device xperia mini st15i and I'm confused about what are the commands i should use to compile a jb rom specifically for my device. I also would like to know where can I get the driver binaries for my device . I've been googling it for more than two weeks with no luck .
Forgive me if the things I asked above sounds ridiculous because as of now I myself am very much confused about building from source .
I hope you people can help me clear my confusion! Thanks!
edit:
My humble request to devs and users is that can anyone with the proper knowledge post a tut on how to compile aosp Rom from source for xperia devices particularly st15i so that we can Learn it. What are the files and how to edit it in source code to build a bootable working Rom for xperia mini st15i and also the driver binaries needed for device to work properly or with minimal bugs . Not aokp or cm just pure aosp. I'll be really thankful if you take it into consideration. Right now there is not even a single tut for xperia devices to compile from aosp sources (according to my knowledge)(if it exists please post the link!) .Thanks for spending your time in reading my request.

Thanks for the support man, I was searching for tut for building from aosp sources and was really disappointed not to find not even a single tut even remotely explaining about building Rom for xperia devices from aosp sources. Given that xperia devices are in mainstream development it's disappointing not to find any tut on this regard.

[Q] Thinking About Rom Development..

I don't know if i've posted this in the right section, but at times on and off i've thought about doing rom development. When I had a Nexus S 4G I made the attempt of being the first to compile ICS from source for that phone. This phone needs roms, I also can't afford to switch phones. I don't know alot about development, but where could I start so I can begin to learn how to build roms? How difficult would it be to get a rom compiled for this phone that'll boot, being that it has a locked bootloader? If someone can help me so I can at least try to do some type of development for this device. I have to flash some type of custom rom on this phone, lol.
imo the best is a port of cyanogenmod with sources of phones similar to optimus l9 and for sure versions like 4.1 ++
this version of android excisting in optimus l9 ics is working fine. it would be nice porting of newer versions.
Finally someone...first.

Glad and happy to see someone (first one) a developer is willing to work on Source Codes. May be for you only I did collected all the resources.
Source Codes here,
Unrooted Stock Roms here,
Flashing and Rooting here and
Rooted CWM Backups here.
See already collected so much of information so some developer will start working. Did this because the LG links were rapidly dying and still are.
I am not developer, but I will be happy to become a tester for you and would like to try to help you in any way you may want. Happy Developing, BIG THANKS and Best of luck.
I'll start after I get a new ethernet cable for my computer, Ubuntu doesn't work well with my wifi usb adapter. Works fine in Windows and was working ok in Linux Mint, abeit kinda slow. I may have to ask someone for help or for guidance, but i'll try to do something. Better than complaining about no roms but not doing anything to help bring one. I don't know how difficult it would be but I was thinking about building JB from source for this phone?

cm for trend plus (GT-S7580

Someone please make CyanogenMod for Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus GT-S7580. I and other guys who owns that device would be very happy about it. If someone does that post the recovery install package here and post it to cyanogen mod so they add it to the easy installer. I want CWM recovery for my device too but its not so important.

The only way you will have an cm, I tried diffrent version and no one worked. Do u have an big sdcard? If so, go to the cwm and backup your rom. put it on a zip and send to the cyanogen mod crew, so they can port it.
My sd card is very small but i know someone knows how to make and mod roms because i know a little bit how it works but not much

I can port cm if someone can make the kernel compatible with cm we will have a custom ROM. It's easier to do then most of u think.
UPDATE: I will do needed edits in our stock kernel to get it to boot into cm10.2. However we will still need a proper kernel compiled to have it fully working. Doing it this way will break some functions but I will do my very best to fix bugs. I will get it to the stage of making calls SMS and data working then I will pass the ROM on to other developers to take over. That's best I can offer. Thanks
If you know any kernel developers please get them to PM me thanks

Is there anybody who can port CM for this phone? I would very appreciate it. I own this phone so if there is someone willing to do this I am ready to help him if he will need something from the phone - files, etc. ( I do not actually know what is needed for porting the ROM.)

Yes me too
I have a samsung galaxy trend plus and i want a CM for it
I have the knowlegde of porting roms but it really won't be easy..
I can start porting it after 2weeks (im at vacation now) and trust me guys i really going to start with it will also take alot of time because its very hard and im also busy with projects for the Trend and Galaxy fame

Unfortionally its not so easy
We must build from scratch without any compatible sources..
I have some friends ( @SeannyM @wulsic) who also ported cm to their device without any sources so i can ask their help when i start with it.

{Discussion}AOKP KitKat 4.4.2 for Xperia Go

Hi guys,I saw in that the Xperia U which has 90% the same hardware as our Xperia Go has already AOKP 4.4 Nightlies,so I decided to make a port for our lovely Xperia Go.I succesfully booted the ROM but I have forgot to include some essential drivers/libs for camera so I remade the ROM but I did another stupid mistake so it doesn't boot again and I need to make it again .But there is no problem as it doesn't take much time so I think until tommorow I will have given you the first screenshots. So I made this thread so we can discusse some non-development related things.Because I am new to Android Development and XDA ROM posting (I have been using XDA as ROM finder since a long time) I think you could direct me correctly.

It is best to compile aokp from source rather than porting it (more performance). But ported rom is also quite okay
@TechBossGR feel free to port it but as @wan5xp said, source built is better. I can help you(or anyone building) for building from source

Yeah but I'm afraid that compiling will take a lot of hours and I don't have so much time to spend there. Also I don't want to make things without understanding what I am doing,I want to know what and why I am doing. That's why I'm asking for a place which explains the basic things for Android building like DeviceTree and other essential things.
I am here again guys and I'm sorry for don't inform you about the ROM.In fact,I was waiting for a new CM11 build so my AOKP port would have less bugs but unfortunately no new CM11 build came out .Does anyone know when or if CM11 will be updated (by Rodger_Rulez)?
