I'm on SuperLTE SVN 127. Camera works well but when I switch to video I can't record and camera is unresponsive until I reboot. I can do things like hit the auto flash icon and switch between modes but can't get to the menu or switch back to picture mode or actual shoot any video.
Previous to this I was on CM10. Camera with video worked ok. Wiped everything I could from TWP, flashed superwipe, reinstalled superLTE, installed other sense roms still the same issues. I also cleared camera and media data in settings.
Anyone have any idea what else I can try?

also another symptom is that I can't play any videos from gallery. Nothing I download or things that were recorded on the phone when video worked. But it will play in bsplayer.
Are there any logs I can check for errors?
Im sorry that it was so hard to read the op and see that rom uses the sense 4.5 camera which will always freeze when switching to video unless the phone is already in landscape mode. im sorry if if this sounded mean but im tired of people not even reading about the rom that they install before saying they have problems. DO SOME RESEARCH before starting a new thread, and always read the original post about the rom before you install.

Be as mean as you'd like as long as you post something useful. This is the Q&A section. I'm not ****ting up someone else's post asking stupid questions. I always try to figure it out on my own first.
You make it sound like the OP of the superLTE rom makes this clear. Yes it does mention the 4.5 camera but it would be helpful if they had a known issue section at the bottom. Notice I didn't say should, just that it would be helpful. Anyway, I've tried other roms, including rooted stock and get the same issues with the camera. Switching to video in the sense 4.5 camera in landscape just crashes instead of hanging and then I can't reopen the camera.

If i was you i would not use the sense 4.5 camera until it is 100% bug free.
Hi, I'm the OP of Super LTE, I'm not sure about those issues, BUT I'm on the latest revision, 149 I think, we updated the camera apk yesterday or two days ago, and I literally just TRIED to crash the camera and couldn't. I took pics, switched to video, took video, viewed video from the gallery, took burst pics, took more video then used capture tool while watching from gallery, rotating between land and port all the while, etc. Please try the latest and see, also, please post issues in thread (or response to my post here), we rarely venture out of the dev section

when i record a video in full hd or even hd and try to play it back in the gallery, it starts playing and then starts freezing and slowing down after less than a second and then it stops and my phone says that the video cannot be played. it seems to happen sooner the higher the quality. i can also play these videos perfectly fine in mx player. i am currently running meanrom 1.5 so let me know if i should go to the rom thread and ask there. that thread is so crowded as it is and im just afraid to make it even worse or the question not get answered at all since there are so many people asking questions. also, i kind of found a fix. when i go into the video, if i quickly hit more and then select player and then cancel, it pauses the video and i can then play it and pause it or do whatever i want and it plays fine. and i have tried just pausing it when the video comes up and starts playing and it still gives that error after a second or two of being paused. keep in mind this all happens within a second or two. thanks to anyone who helps!

i am on v.1.22.651.3 but i have not flashed the camera fix. correct me if i am wrong, as i am going on what i think i remember, but i think meanrom has it already baked in. but again, i could be wrong. i will nandroid and then flash that asap and let you know if it helps. thanks for your reply!

I'm not running MeanROM, so I would investigate their README of their code and thread, to see if this fix is baked in.
If not (as always) the standard procedure is to do a nandroid, full Titanium Backup, etc.
Then, you can flash at will. It certainly helped me.

i just read the meanrom forum and it is not baked in. so i will nandroid and the flash and report back with results.

I took a look at the MeanROM thread as well, and saw the camera MOD mentioned, but that's not the same as this fix, I believe.

Sorry to put this in General but I haven't met the requirements to post elsewhere and hopefully someone will see this .
I've been keeping up with the Atrix 4G CM10 Mod and have to say great work so far. The latest version fixes most of the issues I've seen in the past including the Camera and random reboots.
Few things it doesn't fix that may be either app developer issues, issues with the mod itself, or something I'm not thinking of; Netflix doesn't work , Triple Town (and some other games) don't work (I think this is due to hardware accel, but they work on my Flipside so I'm not sure that matters much).
Anyways just wanted to say thanks, and great work. Can't wait for the next update.

Just tried it but I'm going back to Turl's CM9 which I've been using for a month now. CM10 isn't quite as refined as CM9 atm, CM10 doesn't allow for transitions also the crt animation isn't functioning along with GPS(which also isn't working in CM9 for me), on the bright side Google now worked good on CM10 and is pretty cool.

Video is not working in the native camera app but you can apparently download a camera app in the maket to take video. Chrome tabs still crash the app. Neither of these will probably be able to be fixed until we get official drivers from ICS update.

Seems to depend on who you are, the Camera and Camcorder work fine for me under CM10 with the native camera application. Though it does crap out from time to time. I've had better luck with Pudding Camera being stable.
As for tabs, don't know, will have to look to see if they are working when I get home.

Whitout acceleration, ICS or JB is useless =/ (no video cam, no 720p video playback)

I have jokersax CM10 and my issues so far are:
-When the camera takes a picture with the flash on, the image is overlayed with a heavy green tint, also happened in CM9
-Cant see internal SD storage in Win7.
-Video worked at first (with delay) but now crashes with some gallery error.
-Can't get GPS to work but I'll try GPS test outside in a few minutes
-The animations are smooth but sometimes do this weird little jump back at last couple of frames, doesn't really bother me.
My battery life seems better than the CM9's I tried and the phone has been using deep sleep with CM10. That said, both 9 and 10 use noticeably more battery than CM7.
I also had issues with GPS on CM 9/10. I tried all the common fixes. Even going back to a blur-based ROM didn't fix it. Finally flashed my radio to 36P and now the GPS locks in seconds.
Jokersax CM10 JB 0.2 !!
Hi Guys,
I being a noob, installed Jokersax's CM10 JB 0.2 version yesterday. Had some nervous moments :fingers-crossed: when I soft bricked my phone. But finally recovered from that and could install JB. The following are my observations;
Working:
1) Camera
2) GPS
3) Google Now works. Awesome !! Very quick and to the point.
4) Music play back on phone speaker
5) DLNA works. Tested with Skifta and iMediashare
Not working: (Driver issues and app issues)
1) Chrome not working properly. When I zoom in, it crashes
2) Camcorder - recorded a short video snippet. But the file vanished from the gallery. Not able to find it or it did not record at all !!
3) Finger print
4) Stuttering slightly when moving from one desktop to another
5) No Webtop
6) XDA developer app
Will update this post when I do further tests
Thanks again to CM10 developers, Jokersax and to all those who have helped in getting this ROM to this level.

Sorry nh777 and all. In the excitement of having JB, did not analyse the thread.
I'm very pleased with CM10 Epinter. The small bugs and video camera not bother me so much as to not use more CM10. Bring on the libs official logo.
Amazing rom and theming questions
I have installed CM10 on my Motorola Atrix from Emerson Pinter and found that it works amazingly. Some minor issues involving the camera, gps, and sometimes frame lags, but other than that, it seems to be a pretty stable build. Battery is amazing compared to most other roms. I get a 25 hour battery! Thanks EPinter! I just have one question and hope someone can help me, even though it doesn't exactly pertain to this topic. You know when you are at the lockscreen, you tap the lock and you can slide it to wither camera or unlock? Well, I was wondering if I could change the little dots in the background, maybe change the color or something along those lines. Does anyone have any information on that?

Sorry for reviving an old thread (I thought it would be better than not using the search function) but where can I get the latest version of cm10? I mostly need a functioning camera again which this jokersax ROM doesn't seem to have working.
I understand that Motorola has pretty much killed off any hope of a fully functional jb but I only want a working camera.

No. I have tried so many themes and none of them have made a difference. I forget where, but I read an article that the image was in framework-res.apk. Any help? On a side note, my camera on JellyBean has been REALLY bad. Is that a result of unofficial drivers? If anyone has a fix for any of these issues, please please please contact me!

Sorry, my bad, I only just realized the theming engine cannot theme the lockscreen. It's a known limitation of the engine.
You could always decompile your framework-res, find and change the relevant file, and then compile it back...
Audio over bluetooth (Epinter CM10 20121011)
Hi guys,
I wanted to post this in the dev thread but was not able to do so as I do not have the required minimum 10 posts.
I am using Epinter's CM10 Oct 11th version. I am having a small issue with it.
I am not getting audio over bluetooth. Does anyone else facing the same problem?
I tried to un-pair and re-pair, reboot etc. But nothing worked.
It would be great if any one can solve the issue.

On Jokersax latest CM10 build and have a camera issue as well, no preview of what I am taking, it seems to take a picture as I can see thumbnail afterwards, but cannot view the thumbnail or change location for default directory... Only bug I found so far, less than 12 hours testing...
Is anyone else having any issues with jpg pictures not completely loading in browsers while on JB? Not quite sure when this started happening, but I made a quick video to demonstrate below.
First off, I am unlocked and I made this video while on Craig's Stock JB ROM with the original data location. I added the init.d, EXT4, and CtlSys mods as well as the JB Build prop from the other build.prop thread at that time and was having the issue so not sure what was causing it.
Now, I just did a fresh clean install of a brand new Hairy Bean 1.3 JB ROM with the data2sd kernel and typical install and before doing any titanium restores or anything else I went and tested the browser and found out the SAME thing is happening on this ROM??? Much less frequently, but I've had it still happen. Weird thing is if it DOES happen, if I rotate the screen then the whole picture loads and will be there if I rotate back.
Is this a JB glitch and is anybody on Stock JB having this issue?

and click on the pictures as I did in the video can someone tell me if the pictures are fully loading in whatever browser you are using or sometimes does only the part actually showing on the screen load, and the bottom is white when you scroll? I've had this same issue on both the standard and data2microsd configurations.

You are not alone I experience the same problem. When you change from landscape to portrait and back then the image is fine again. So it seems a landscape rendering problem.

Thanks for confirming with me that at least someone else is having the issue. Found that it happens much less often with Chrome (but overall Chrome is much slower) and seems to never happen at all with Dolphin Beta.
i have the jellybeans rom installed, with the 4.2 camera app. I had the 4.2 for my galaxy nexus and it worked wonnderfully. however, on the note 2, whenever i try to record video(any resolution), the screen aspect ratio gets all weird on me. ill take a couple screenshots. Also, photosphere doesnt work, it doesnt force close or anything, it just keeps glitching out at the "align to start" thinger. i think the gyroscope or something is fcked.
if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated, as i have been using the 4.2 since my gnex. cant find the other camera appealing to me.
also, im on perseus kernel if that helps
*right after posting i found the fix for video. it does it whenever i switch from photo to video recording. STIll cant figure out photosphere though.

I hate to see people having trouble repeatedly with camera 4.2apk. Too much bugs and errors......but some people got it working without any issues. The problem is they can't seem to trouble shoot others who have issues, because they don't know how to. They will just say shxt like wipe out everything and reinstall it. Well......fuxk that. That's not a solution..... and it didn't work out. Just dump that shxt and use 4.1. :good:
For context, I'm running lineage (19-20220824-NIGHTLY-dre) and this issue happens on every single camera app I've tried.
If I record a video let's say like a 2 second recording and then go to open that video the clip suddenly is an hour long with basically the entire hour being a single frame and the last 2 seconds being the 2 seconds I recorded. What's even weirder is the audio from the video plays during the first two seconds and then doesn't for the remaining time. Overall really weird and frustrating and I've spent hours trying to figure out what would cause this to no avail. Additional most gallery apps won't even open the videos recording and no pc can open them either. Any ideas?
Have you tried update Lineage? It's most recent update is 9/21 it looks like your about 4 updates behind. Not sure if it'll fix your issue though as I did not use camera while using Lineage and have since gone back to stock due to a display bug.
Edit: If you do want to update it SHOULD be fairly simple. You just go to settings>system>update and it should pull whatever the newest update it and install in the background. Note that even though it shouldn't cause any errors, there's always the chance it will so just be aware and ready.

Ah ok, sorry that's all I got. You could always submit a bug report on the Lineage gitlabs and hopefully someone gets to it.
This is why I stick to US OEM Stock rom.
I can de-bloat it and EVERYTHING works.

You got a debloat list or something you follow? I could go for that see if smooths stock a little when playing pokemon go.
I have the latest LIneage, with the same problem, and am completely lost with what it could be. Recording videos in Snapchat works normally, but the stock camera, GCAM, and the GrapheneOS camera all have this issue, probably because they all use the Camera2 API.
I encountered this problem today but the uploads on Google photos came out correct (when I 'free up space' )
I am having this issue as well, just checking to see if anybody might have discovered anything
