[Q] Tasker app and GPS - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I know that GPS toggle works only with Secure Settings and so on but... i converted my tasker app to system and after that GPS toggle stopped working. I decided to convert Secure Settings to system as well but still no result. Does anybody have explanations or solutions?

[Q] Secure Settings Permissions

I am trying to use NFC Classis, however when I open it, it states 'Secure Settings Permissions Required'
I have NFC activated already. I cannot find anything under security to enable.
Any suggestions?
Don't know for sure but secure settings is an app you can download on Google play

Create shortcut to certain setting in JB?

Is it possible to somehow create a shortcut to a specific setting with JB either with tasker or some other app? I'd like to quickly be able to get to the setting where you can quickly enable/disable notifications for an app.
Thanks

If you wanna create something like an shortcut to eg the battery in the android settings, you could use nova launcher. It has the option to start a single activity from an app.

[Q] Llama: Display variables?

Hi,
I like Llama very much and I'm currently setting up a periodic turning on and off of the data connection while the screen is off to save battery. This already seems to work, however I would like to show when turning the screen on again how often the data connection was turned on. But something like putting "Synced %SyncCount% times" as reminder text does not seem to work. How can I show this? I would rather not want to install the minimalistic text widget for that.
Also it would be nice to show a toast instead of a reminder.

Is it possible? If not out of the box maybe in combination with another app?

I've been trying to look for a list of llama variables without success. Trying to find a llama variable to detect whether GPS is enabled or disabled.
Any help

Anyway for Llama to show a toast?
Anyway for Llama to show a toast? Either through an Android Intent or Variable? I want to display a message / notification (toast) on my phone when I perform an action.

What does this icon signify?

The first one in the notification bar area...
E911 gps icon.

Thanks. Says it can't be turned off in settings, but I've seen some people's screens and they don't have that icon. Can it be disabled if you root or something?
Yes. Custom roms delete that icon

I'm curious about deleting this icon on stock ROM; I have been using the xposed installer framework and have had great success with my battery icon and a couple other personal "annoyances". Anybody have some cool suggestions or links? This is low on my priority list next to enabling the built-in hotspot app aside from the widgetsoid toggle.
If your rooted, all you have to do is delete the SystemUI.odex file and then flash one of the mods and it will remove that icon on a stock rom.

If you turn off the standalone GPS it goes away.

The waves go away, but the rest of the icon stays. I think you would have to turn off E911 services for it all to go away.
I always have GPS off but the waves are still there.
EDIT: Oh, you mean location services. Now I see.
The idea is to leave the services on; we know they are, but we don't want the icon. Minimalist UI, etc.
They actually have an icon glossary built into the software. If you go to Settings>More>About phone, the icon glossary is in there.
