Does anyone else constantly lose baseband on jelly bean? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been on two jelly bean roms so far, slim bean and helly bean and both of them I've had baseband issues where the baseband would become unknown whenever my battery died. I don't know what the hell is going on. Does anyone have any insight as to why this could be happening? Is it a Jelly Bean issue?

Do you have a corrupt or generic imei? Compare the one in settings to the one on your phone under your battery.

IMEI matches under the battery with the one in settings.

Also I'm not running gingerbread bootloaders if that matters at all.

Boot loaders won't make a difference. I am also not running GB boots and have only had baseband issue with remics and hellybean 0820 build which were ROM issues.

hmm kind of figured they were rom issues since this is the first time it's ever been a problem. But it's odd since many aren't reporting this exact issue in the dev threads.

no wifi since new JB leak

ever since i flashed the latest version of the Jb leak i have no wifi, any ideas on how to fix this?
It's impossible to fix I'm afraid. Your phone is now practically bricked.
Just kidding, flash a stock based sammy ics rom and you'll be good to go.

i had my arse in my mouth then, is it a known issue, or have i done anything wrong?
Me too, no WiFi in cm 9 or cm 10.
It works only in stock Rom. (4.0.4 or in leaked Rom)

Yes its a known issue. Flashing the leaked sammy JB rom seems to kill wifi in a funny way. Flash a sammy stock ics rom (or custom rom eg. wanam or omega) and your wifi will be fixed. You can then proceed to install JB AOSP or CM10 or whatever.

JB roms on the i9100?

Without having to rifle through 1000 threads/posts......can someone tell me if the i9100 is plagued by the same problems as the T989 version of this phone on JB roms having SoDs and RR's?
I currently have the T989 and have yet to find a JB Rom that does not give me RR's.....I have purchased an i9100 for my wife and would like to know if it is worth it to put a JB Rom on it or just stick with ICS.
TIA

I have been using CM9 and CM10 on and off since early birds and have never had a SOD or a RR (whatever an RR is).

I have been using JB roms (RR 3.0.9, Revolt 2.5) for over a month now without any issues. The only problem with AOKP / CM 10 based JB roms is that the phone might start lagging and you might need to restart it. Not all users have faced this problem though. I would highly recommend going with a JB rom

Thanks for the recommendation I will check it out.
Nowhere was I asking a "what is the best" type of question, I was asking if the i9100 suffered from the same Random Reboots and Sleep of Death problems that the T989 suffers from with the CM10 based JB Roms or not....if they do I would stick with an ICS based ROM in the meantime.
Tried looking through a few posts in some of the JB rom threads but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.....guessing if ppl over here at the i9100 forum are not knowing what an RR is that this phone does not have these issues which is a good thing in my books cuz it's a royal PITA when the phone reboots in the middle of a call .

RR = Random Reboots (as stated in the above reply)
RootBox v2.9 & Dori v7.3 MALI
I am running on revolt 2.5 and it is my favorite JB rom so far. I ve tried others, but always went back to it. But you should definitely put a custom rom on it, as others have said already. I tried going back to ICS roms and it was just smoother in general with JB

[Q] How to get SGH-I777 back to stock

I have been waiting patiently on the Jelly Bean update for the SGH-I777, and finally got frustrated and decided to root and get a custom rom. The walkthrough that I followed apparantly had the I9100 kernel linked so after I finished, I had no modem. I found a flash to stock, but it put me back to Gingerbread and rooted. Also, CWM does not work properly either, I keep getting errors when trying to boot into recovery. So, my question is, how can I fix this or how can return the phone to ICS and wait for Jelly Bean official?

Install mobile odin lite, and flash Siyah gingerbread kernel. That should give you cwm. And then you can flash whatever rom you want.
Ok, got Siyah installed. Now, can you recommend a solid Jelly Bean build?

Just flash a few and find one that meets your needs. Lots to choose from. Good luck, happy flashing
Ok, things have progressed a bit, I have now gotten Siyah to run and downloaded/flashed AOKP's Jelly Bean build but the phone seems to be stuck on the unicorn screen "Initiating Swagger". Any ideas?
Update: After wiping Dalvik and Cache and Data, I have a successful boot!

Dude. Replying to answered threads or replying with non useful info isn't a good way to increase post count. I've seen you do this on like 4 threads today.
Just a heads up. Your chancesnof getting official JB armless then 1% as att has dropped all update support for it.

[Q] Horrible service since 4.1.2 update

My service has turned to @#$% since I updated to 4.1.2. Often I can't even get text messages to go through. Is there a way that I can get back to the Christmas leak?
Thanks....
I was having problems with stock 4.1.2 as well. Even the custom roms that used it as a base were problematic. Try flashing one of the 4.2.2 roms the the development section...my messaging has been working perfectly since I flashed aokp

Worked perfectly!!! Service is MUCH better. I'm currently running PACman v4. When Mazda comes out with the update for Dirty Unicorn, I'll likely try that as well.
Black widow has worked well for me and I have my RAZR flashed to cricket.

Flashing New Note 2 To 4.1.1

I will be picking up a new Verizon Note 2 later today and I want to flash it
to 4.1.1 for the better battery life.
All I need is Odin I think but I am not sure if need the Official VRAJLB 4.1.1 or
the Alternate VRAJLB 4.1.1 from the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207
Which of those roms should I flash ?
Thanks,
Brett

Curious why you think that 4.1.1 will give you better battery life? Most here have been on 4.1.2 for months and battery is at least the same if not better.
Mean bean ice and clean room are reported to have incredible battery life on 4.1.2... I used casual to root and flashed jelly bean 21... pretty happy with it so far...
