Q: is there a stock ics rom without root and... - HTC Rezound

Q: is there a stock ics rom without root and... Is it possible to remove superuser that comes on a installed rooted stock rom?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2

A stock ICS from without root.... you mean the stock ICS that comes with the phone?
But, a ROM without root? Not possible. You have to be rooted to run and install ROMs.

What about a rom that is flashable through recovery without superuser?

Maybe, but why don't you want super user?

Where can I find a good unaltered base rom (non-ruu) . Having trouble finding a working link. Want an ics global version and a regular ics old kernel...

I'm pretty sure the older stock ICS kernel won't work on the global leak.

A ROM to perform S-off?

Can someone link me to a Gingerbread stock rom or an ICS ROM I can use to perform S-off? I want to try the all-in-one toolkit for S-off because I always get errors with the other one. Thanks.

You may try RUU at below link ( ICS RUU 3.14.605.10 )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703539
Download it from android police download link on post 4
Use the stock out of the box rom that you unlocked bootloader and flashed su on. You should have backed it up

You can use any ROM to perform S-OFF as far as I know. I didn't make any special considerations as to what ROM I was using when I did it...

can I use new kernel and radio on gingerbread rom?

can I use new ICS kernel and radio on gingerbread rom?
for example stock kernel and radio 3.14.605.10?
In short, no.
The 3.x kernels are for ICS, and changing the radios is a terrible idea (I tried it. Ugh).
For GB, use Incredikernel. It will satisfy your kernel needs.

You're supposed to be able to use GB Roms on ICS firmware if you flash the 'new'firmware patch. http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/-Support_Files-/SuperChilPil/
If that was your question.
If you want to mix and match hboots and radios...that, I think is a bad idea.

There's a patch for going back to gb I'll link you to it as soon as I get back to my computer. It's different from the old firmware patch

Reboot issues

So, I recently S-OFF my rezound and rooted it etc. I seem to be getting constant rebooting everytime I turn the screen on to use the phone. So, when i wake the phone and unlock it and start to dial a number for example it reboots. ANy ideas on what's wrong? Thanks!
also i notice it only happens on sense roms. Only sense 4.0 tested though
Sounds like you are on old firmware. You may need the old firmware patch. What firmware are you on? Here it is if you need it. Flash in recovery after Rom

Try a sense 3.6 ROM. If the problem sticks then try the ICS RUU

So just flash a 3.6 rom and it should fix it? I tried flashing the file above but still a no go. Only rom that works with out it rebooting is asop. Currently on miui. Gonna try that though.

you deffinitely have to upgrade your firmware with the ota ruu or the global leak ruu! here is the ota .12 one
here is the global one http://bit.ly/TRMmvF
Ya.... If I remember correctly those are gb radios. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way those are some old azz radios.... I would update to the latest global leak so you can flash anything without issue.

Root newest update

In hopes for the official jelly bean release I reverted to stock and installed the latest update. My question is, will I still be able to root using the same method since the update came with a new modem. Thanks

Yes you can still root the same way. Just install custom recovery via Odin and Superuser via custom recovery.

Well I get that, the question is since it was possible to flash a GE ROM with s-on for 4.3 why not 4.4. Mainly because I and a few others out there can not seem to get s-off.

No one knows why 4.4 GPE won't work on s-on phones. If you want stock android, then I suggest flashing an aosp rom.
