Hello everybody,
I've reached the end of my knowledge. Both my GT-P7510 and I9300 with ICS 4.0.4 have the Samsung MobilePrint app installed, none of them would see my Samsung CLX-3175N printer. The printer is wired to a router, both mobile devices acces internet through this very router with absolutely no problem. The PC (Win7) is also wired to the router and works with the printer like a charm.
Now, none of the mobile devices "sees" the printer, nor would they accept the IP entered manually. I tried everything so far, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the pc, changed the IP, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, even done a hard reset on the tab (according to tech support from Samsung. Note that I WAS able to print from the tab, back when the tab had Honeycomb on it. All software is stock, legal, nothing rooted... maybe that is the reason why it won't work.
Has anyone any idea how to solve the problem, besides using another app?? And if not, what other app would you recommend? Has anyone the same infrastructure?
Thanks in advance

I have a stock ROM rooted Photon.
I used AndroidVNC server, granted it superuser permissions, and started server.
Problem is,
When I attempt to connect through PC server stops!
I tried several VNC viewers, same result.
I know it's my Photon because my friend has a rooted SG2 and it works perfectly.
I also have the latest binary updated.
Please help if you know a solution.
Hmm, doesn your friends work while connecting to your pc? If not, it could be as a result of closed ports on your software firewall and/or hardware firewall. Not sure what ports the viewers youre using uses, but try to find out and ensure that those ports are either already open or set to be forwarded in your firewalls. Easy way to fivure out if this is the issue is to disable all of your pc's security momentarily and try to connect. If it does, you know your problem is on the pc side and not your phone or the app. Good luck.
Does the vnc-server allow you to use a mouse and keyboard from the computer on the phone? or access the webtop/ubuntop?
I think this must be a bug from the vnc server, it most likely crashed during the connection.
Try our vmlite vnc server, it will surely work on your device, as we do have other users using the same device.

Hi,
I have the strangest problem:
there is some sort of a problem in the combination of my phone and my laptop (Dell 5110N with Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030).
If i enable tethering on my phone, and connect to it on my laptop, internet browsing doesnt work, but every other program that uses the internet seems to be working - say Dropbox keeps uploading files.
I've tried on 3 different internet browsers, and the problem is only local to my specific phone (my laptop works wifi with other tethering phones) and other devices (say my friend's galaxy s3) seems to be able to browse the internet while being tethered to my phone.
I literary have no idea whats going on and what can be dont to solve it, i'd love to get some help if possible.
thanks alot!

trial and error Keep trying other browsers reset wireless adapter in the laptop restart both the laptop and the phone.
I strongly believe that this is a problem generated by the laptop

To make sure it is not a DNS problem you should try with ICMP from your notebook:
1. does ping gmail.com work ?
2. does ping 173.194.35.53 work ?
If one of these does not work, install LanDroid from Google Play and try the pings from your phone.
I've recently purchased a Galaxy Note II, i'm having an issue communicating to the device over wifi on my home network.
Wifi works fine in every other way.
Some examples of the issues I'm having:
Wifi Sync with Winamp won't detect my device unless I enable content sharing with DLNA
Wifi File explorer won't work on this phone, it's as if the phone is refusing connections over port 8000 with no user interaction
Device cannot be pinged (I'm not sure if my Desire HD responded but it never had any other the other issues)
I don't have any privacy guard type apps installed, I am rooted and I did have AdAway installed but I have tried it both with the host file installed and without.
I'm a bit lost here, and googling just returns results from 100's of people who can't connect to WiFi.
Ok, this isn't going to help anyone who comes across the same issue but wifi explorer is now working, and the device is responding to ping requests. Winamp sync still needs the DLNA stuff turned on.
I'd have liked to provide a solution but i've absoloutly no idea why it's now working, sorry.
Heyyyy,
So I have a Samsung Galaxy V, Unrooted, and Locked Bootloader. I've been trying to use all sorts of remote apps that require to sync itself with my wifi connection (i.e. remote control, universal remote, mobile gamepad) but to no avail. The kinds of troubleshooting advice I usually get or read about generally just tell me that it SHOULD connect itself automatically after I install the server thing on my pc but it never does. This goes with all said apps. I've tried pinging my pc to the ports required to be connected to through my smartphone but nothing seems to be out of place, I even checked a few things that I could understand on my router settings but I've never really figured anything out.
In short, I would like to ask if anybody knows of a way to possibly diagnose the problem that might be causing my smartphone to not sync up with my wifi regardless of having the same connection.
If it matters, my phone is on a wifi, but my pc is wired, however that doesn't seem to be much of a problem according to the many troubleshooting attempts I've read, but yeah, that's basically the stiffy.
Thanks for your time, cheers.
