Hi
Trying to play need for speed and it was constantly pulling to the right no control at all unless I turned the screen upside down with the charge port facing the roof it wet straight
Downloaded android sensors when the touch pad is sitting on ma knee with the speakers facing me the Horizontal access shows full acceleration of 10 when I hold it vertical it switches to the vertical axis and shows 10 when I turn it upside down so the charging port is facing the roof all acceleration stops
Is there any way to reset all sensors - reflashed latest nightly but made no difference at all cleared dalvik but no factory reset as I will have to setup all my apps/home screen again.
Any suggestions welcome
Cheers!

I run dailyroads voyager as dashcam. My sgs2 is seated in the carholder in the left corner of the front window, allowing the cables to be neatly stuffed away behind my doorrubbers.
But: this means I can only rotate the phone counter-clockwise. This is not supported by dailyroads voyager (or any other dashcam-app). They'll just display clockwise landscape, rendering the buttons etcetera upsidedown...
Is there any way to force counter clockwise? I read about it being implemented in some custom rom for another phone...

Anybody knows how to force counter-clockwise landscape?
I do hope someone replies here because I'd like the same thing. When I play games or hold the phone in landscape, my fingers usually end up covering the speaker. Forcing a counter-clockwise landscape orientation would be great. To the OP, I've looked around myself and haven't found anything.

Found it mentioned in Cyanogenmod... It is on it's way for the SGS2, so maybe if we wait just a little bit longer we can finally rotate counterclockwise (or left landscape versus right landscape, or 270 degrees, or whatever people call it).
Just can't be that hard, now can I it? Really no-one with an easy solution here?
Actually I would like to have 90 degrees landscape, I have by default 270 degrees rotation. This is annoyng because when I play games light sensor is in bottom left corrner. I put my finger over the light sensor and screen goes dark becasue my phone thinks that it is in the dark area. I don't know if I remember correctly but in the first run wizard it was set up. But I don't know where to change it now.
That's exactly what we want too... You're talking about the same

I like using the app screebl to keep the screen on while reading article. if you haven't heard of it, it uses the accelerometer sensor to detect the tilt of the phone in both landscape and portrait mode and keeps the screen on if it is within the range degree of tilt that is setup in the app. It is strange that I can reliably switch between portrait and landscape by turning the phone but screebl cannot detect the degree of tilt.
Can anyone point me to a solution or is this a bug in cm7 that has not been resolved?

I am using Simply Honey which I think is based on CM7. None of the sensors work properly including:
Light sensor,
GPS,
accel
compass
They are all messed up one way or the other. Only proximity sensor works. I am missing my froyo with 3-4x of battery life..

Thats touchwiz bro...
I had the same issues when working with CM7. I'm not sure its CM7 though. Download the free app "Androsensor" and check it out. You will see CM7 runs all the sensors just fine. It may be a 2.3.* issue with the apps.
Hello, I just updated my mini to the latest 4.0.A.2.377 firmware, and now each time I wake it up from locked the screen is flickering a little, really annoying..
Anyone else has the same problem?
Update:
The screen doesn't flicker at all when connected to a charger. Obviously then this must be a software problem and not hardware. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences?

Yes same here. But it so happens when I'm in a low-light environment.
This is normal I guess
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
No it's not normal. It wasn't like this before, it started after I updated..
It doesn't bother me at all, that's why I never noticed it before I've updated it.

I try Z DeviceTest an the app say there was no lightsensor. Its thats the reason for flickering? No driver for the lightsensor or anything else?

What's the problem??
I noticed the flickering when I set the display brightness to a low level (<50%) and whenever the screen adjusts to the background light so it seems to be caused by the light sensor...
Yeah but my screen also flickers when the phone is locked and turned off and you press home button to wake it and the first second its awake the screen goes from full brightness to non and back to full again. This wasn't there before :/

The brightness of the screen is very normal, and the absence of an ambient light sensor is a disappointment – the brightness requires a manual adjustment every time you go out.

Taken from here
And also SE support center confirmed that it does not have a Ambient Light Sensor.
Then it would seem very stupid to have autobrightness as default and no option to turn it off if the phone doesn't have a light sensor.. Hope they add that option in a future update!

Use power widget and turn off auto brightness. It will not flicker a lot like before. I used this on my mini.

According to SE support, this is a common problem unfortunately..

Tried that, no dice. I only really see the flicker on a full white screen.

It does have a light sensor. I just read the manual and it says so.
Page 14
"Your phone includes a light sensor and a proximity sensor. The light sensor detects the ambient light level and adjusts the brightness of the screen accordingly."

According to a couple different sensor detecting programs, there is no light sensor. Maybe the sensor is defective?

This is normal. To people who got annoyed by this it's your problem not SE

What is people smoking?
Of course there's a light sensor, why else would the screen dim up/down at all?!
As for the app not seeing the sensor, my guess would be that the sensor's just made differently or actually being in direct circuitry with the screen/backlight, and the two are recognized as one.
I haven't heard anything on the subject, but i would imagine that it's fixed in the next update (2.3.4).
Any fix for this?
Hey all, my dad and I both have the Samsung s3. So as all would do we put them next to each other and compare them.
We noticed that his screen is less bright and less clear by only slight a bit. For the comparison we turned auto mode off and put it to the darkest. His phone 3 weeks older then mine though, is this normal of is his phone broken?
Ps. When I watch a video in YouTube I could double tap to go full screen on my old phone. This doesn't work anymore. Any ideas how I can go full screen? I don't have auto rotate on.

Hi.
Could it be that auto brightness feature isn't working properly on XU?
I have a feeling display always has same brightness regardless light or daylight or night.
Is there a way to test the sensor?
Thx
Yep, put your brightennes to 50% and then light your sensor with sone light or lighter close enought, sensor from your left side of speaker.
P.S as far as i noticed on this xperia sensor work only to get your screen more brightennes and not to reduce it

AndroSensor app says the phone did not have a light sensor??
You its working I tried a sensor control aplication(i dont rember the app name but it is controledy phone when I moved my hand upper the sensor)

The sensor works, the autobrightness no
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Autobrightness works fine, Sony just implements it differently. Choose a brightness level, now this brightness is going to be the minimum the screen will go to. If you go outside or are in a room with bright light it will adjust by raising the level but never go below the minimum you have set. The autobrightness is actually really good the way it works, i have great sun legibility. Hope this helps you.
But why apps like sensor test say there us no light sensor?
maybe new sensor ....
How many apps have you tried?
Androsensor and Sensor test.
The dial *#*#7... Dont have number in mind says sensor is working
Im on KA03
