Hi my USB port charges but does not connect to data on PC I ordered the part but it will be a while saw on galaxy note .com that the international can be done without PC can the SGH~i717 be done this way to?

Odin is required to root the I717 .....by flashing a .tar image ...
And mobile Odin is not supported on this device ....

I did. Tried it on works pc a few mins a ago. Searched.. followed instructions as I did before on s1 and 2. Did not recognise phone. Tried to install kies for the drivers but windows asked for sp3 update. Which I don't wanna do on works pc. Just wondered if their was another method

Just bought a SGS3 and want to root it (adaway & other little goodies). No custom rom yet (wanna play with stock). However I'm computer-free (no access to any Pc/mac/linux) for 2-long-days. Any possibility to root sgs3 only with the phone (&internet)?

Download cf root and flash using mobile Odin. I think you can get it free off xda or pay for it from the app store. Follow normal rooting guide except use mobile Odin when it says normal odin. I did it that way.

As far as I know you need to be rooted to be able to use mobile odin. Hence will not work without root.

I put my mobile on titanium backup. ..all user data and system data....During it was doing backup mobile was also connected to pc I was copying photos to pc...after titanium backup finished its job I saw my mobile not detecting on pc...I restart my mobile and pc but not detected ....whats gone wrong with mobile please help???? Follow the guide in general forum, sticky thread to flash full stock rom with odin. Factory reset then test usb again.
Microsoft windows causes most connection issues.
