I have been searching for a great note taking app to use in class. I found the Lenovo one is quiet interesting; however, it keeps showing me "not compatible with this device".
Here's where I download from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598558
I'm currently running the nightly CM9, not the AOKP. Would it be the cause of the issue?
Hopefully someone here can help me to figure this out. Thanks.
If the Lenovo app doesn't work, take a look at Handrite in the PlayStore. I was looking for something like Penultimate to link with Evernote. Unfortunately, there is no Penultimate for Android yet, but you can connect Hand rite with Evernote.

I was so excited to be able to use a sponsored version of the XDA app on my honeycombed NC! Login works fine but as soon as I try to open a topic it causes a force close. Does anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks!
I am also getting a FC but when attempting to log in.
Mine work great on CM7 Both version, regular and premium

I can't get it to work on CM7 on mine, Premium. FCs when opening a topic.
Actually, only occurs when logged in, opens topics fine when I'm not logged in.

How are you using regular XDA on CM7? FC's on me everytime unless I use my framework patch. I'm on CM7v8. Thanks for any info you can give.

Well, I must say the same, the only reason I bought this app was to contribute to xda. I hardly buy any apis . Too many goods free apps on the market. but like you guys stated mine fcs when logged in cm7. If any of you find a solution please post.
It's not just HC. I'm on NF 0.6.8 customized.
XDApremium FC's on me when logged in and attempting to open a thread. When not logged in...no problems.
Just to add, I get the same thing. Something with authentication.
Ditto here, on a modified Froyo ROM. With both premium and free app versions.
Hopefully the app developers will see this and help us fix it!
Edit: seems tapatalk works fine though.
I can log in ( free version, froyo) and before I log in, soft keys works fine. After I log in, Soft keys makes the app FC.
Same issue. FC when exiting app or viewing topics, but only after logging in. I'm using the non-pro version.
I'm having the same problem on Phiremod 5.3 with the non-premium app.
I updated the app a couple nights ago and now it wont open and load anything, it hangs and then force closes everytime. I've uninstallled and reinstalled and it will allow me to login and it will work fine right up until I close the app and reopen it.
Any thoughts?
Had the same problem. I ended up reverting to the previous version with a backup.
Crashes for me too. I also went to a backup. Not sure what is that last version to work. My backup was from a month ago.
Mine too on CM7 Nightly 177 booting off an SD card. Hopefully they can get it fixed.
Have you fixed permissions? It runs fine for me,not a fan of it but it works.

Seems like the app is crashing when it tries to find your location using the (non-existant) GPS. Is there some way to inject a fake GPS position?
Install tetherGPS lite and start the client, it spoofs the app into thinking there is a GPS signal. Recent check ins load fine with this fix.

Why would you post this?
As of nightly 212, there is no built-in ability to fake GPS. This was never any mention of that ability on any changelog, and it certainly wasn't sneaked in or anything.
Facebook still attempts to access GPS and force-closes as of nightly 212 / October 6th (I'm guessing it is an incorrect or simply unhandled exception. Facebook for both Android and iOS are famous for having terrible programmers).
A fake GPS program is still required to use Facebook.
The Facebook app goes from bad to worse. Uninstalled.
Is there any other fix that doesn't require me to start the gps client every time before wanting to use facebook? What is the latest version of facebook I can get that will function fine without a silly work around? 1.6.?
A working Google Now for ICS AOSP ROM...

Thank the OP in the above link if it works for you!
Got it up and working on my phone. I'm running Shostack2 3.1.1
Many similar threads on XDA , NOT COOL !1!
I can see multiple similar threads on half-baked Google now from JB which is still quite buggy... atleast one in all smartphone's theme section ...
You should mention whats working and whats not before directing someone to this link ... is not very usable as of now.

Exactly, I've had this for a day or so, and voice search isn't working. But they're aware of that issue, and attempting to fix it. OP should mention that voice doesn't work.

Voice-to-text will not work without kernel support or a hack forcing the app to use the existing Google Speech-to-text implementation. Either direction will take an obscene amount of time, i'd imagine. Don't wait up...
Why is this sinking down the app list?! People need to see this!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
After using for several days, one issue I've noticed (besides voice search not working), is that the "cards" do not automagically "appear" on my phone. Rather, to view any card, I have to manually open the app. Once there I see a relevant card, such as the weather, or the length of my commute to work when the phone figures it's time for me to go to work. But my understanding is that Google Now, working properly, is supposed to make these cards "pop up" on your phone, rather than you having to manually open the app.
tks,trying...

Yes. Search for mikeyxda07. I believe that's the file. One of the xda devs (mike) has one up and running. Also, I think Shostock has it in his ROM. Why not just switch to JB and install it with one of the various Aroma gapps installers? Works well.

Google has released Jelly Bean source code, and CM10 development is underway, but while we are waiting, we can install Google Now, the new search tool from Jelly Bean onto our Ice Cream Sandwich Android device.
You will need to download the Velvet.apk file from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j85otexnkoktfiv/Velvet.apk
As usual, you can discuss this and ask questions at the REVTV Website Forum:

Thanks for the video, I've had this working for a few days and had the same results you did with the network error message at first and voice not working. My workaround for voice is to use the new voice recognition that is built into the latest Swype betas since my TP microphone is working now.
Swype beta?
How do you get swype on the TP?

Its supported now, just download the beta installer from their website and install, no modifications needed anymore.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224 <- you should try this. no build.prop changes or anything crazy required. i havent tried it on my touchpad yet but i would assume it works cause its on my phone.
As new versions become available, I think this will get easier and better to use.
I can't wait until the voice works.
Rev, you're on CM9, right? I thought the microphone was still not working on the touchpad? I haven't actually turned my touchpad on since February, so admittedly I'm behind the times, but I haven't seen any rom saying the mic was working.
Official nightlies mic function is working...
The current official nightlies all have a working microphone and pretty stable wifi... The camera is the one that is not working yet... Hope that happens anytime now...
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Yes, the mic is working fairly well in the most recent nightly builds.
As far as the camera goes.... that might still be a while.
Thanks, looks like today is bring your touchpad to work day for me, I'll update it finally.
I'll just wait for the packaged deal.......glad cm10 is underway and can't wait.

I installed the latest version of Google Now with the Voice Search feature active, and I must say, it doesn't work great on the Touchpad. Its very slow, the screen flashes, you can't use the search button within the app, and the external voice connection app requires you to press enter in the Google Now app to run a search.
I'll wait for CM10.
AWESOME!!! Thanks a lot
Epic 4g got gNow working flawlessly. I wonder if the same fix could work for the jb alpha alpha pre-alpha rom that we'll soon be nomming on...

Out of curiosity, why is this so hard to get it working on ICS ROMs? On every phone I've seen, they've been able to port over most of the Jellybean stuff to ICS without issues, but Google Now just will not port over nicely. Seems like it's just an app to me and would require less work than others, but I know nothing about developing.

That's the issue, it isn't JUST an app. It's actually a series of apps that work together along with the framework and some other fun stuff. Not as easy as throwing an APK on your device.

Hi. I've Google my life out of this but can't find an answer.
Hoping someone here might have a clue.
When I try to record video in snapchat I'm only able to record about one second of video. I've tried uninstalling an reinstalling but to no use.
Running CM10.2 nightly but I've had this problem on all rooms I've tried. All cm based though.
Hoping for a helpful answer.
Thanks!

I have the same issue, tried low quality settings in snapchat and reinstall.
I have cm-10.2-20131102-SNAPSHOT-M1-i9300 installed.
