Samsung Dive is a service provided by Samsung for free, you can track your mobile and do all sort of things via your desktop.
Samsung Dive comes pre-instllaed ONLY in stock Samsung roms.
Most of the costume ROM's makers/developers remove this app since it consume the battery.
There is no way to install it if you are using a non stock ROM (You can try though).
If you want a much better substitute buy Cerberus.

think you can do it from kies?
Samsung apps won't work on non-Samsung phones because they require the touchwiz framework. Stock apps are better anyway

Nope, not without you telling us what rom you where on, and what rom you flashed.
Also if its a custom rom its more than likely the thread you got it on lists what had been removed and how to put it back.

At first, I changed to yakka rom v4 then I found that the samsung apps is missing..
Then I changed back to the initial rom which is criskelo rom v34
and the samsung apps is still missing until I restore back stock rom,
then I found my samsung apps.. But it disappear again when I changed to yakka rom..
That's the story.. And I can't find the solution for the problem..
This will probably be because the new ROM has had the taken out by the Dev thats why you cant see them. You can download them from here clicking on the blue link next to each app you want.

The real solution would be for you to have read the rom builders description of each rom .
Most devs remove Samsung Apps as a waste of space to build a lighter rom .

The solution is this flash this : http://www.phonandroid-kitchen.com/ota/AloisioROM/AloisioROM v4.0/AloisioROM v4.0 -Samsung Apps.zip

If you check in the threads, where will most likely be flashable zips with the removed apps to put them back. (I found one in the Criskelo thread for example)
As far as the apps on the spreadsheet, they might work but I dont know which rom they are from, and what version they are, best idea is to get them from the rom thread.
Or use a different rom that doesn't remove anything.

Sure, but the devs mostly want to build fast and light ROMs and as you see you still have options to get the Samsung Apps; propably you find the same info in all of the ROM threads
my samsung apps is missing. how do i get it back?

Step 2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714354 :good:
I found very different answers on the internet about this topic.
Some say yes you can update when rooted some say no and some say you can if you didn't remove any apps.
I would like to root my samsung galaxy S III I9300 and remove the samsung apps.
I do not want a custom rom and I would like to update my phone at any time when there is a new update.
Also would like to know if I could remove the "TouchWhiz home" and use the standard jelly bean skin.
So far as I know it's in the list named "System UI" with the jelly bean logo.
Thanks for all the replies,
Instead of rooting my phone I sold my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The comments were very useful and made me think, I decided to buy a google phone since the Samsung Galaxy S3 has still a quite high value in The Netherlands.
This would give me the pure android experience without rooting the phone or installing new roms.

You could try freezing the samsung apps in application manager so you don't need to root
And don't uninstall system ui, touchwiz is called touchwiz in the apps list

I did freeze those apps but I still would like to remove them.
I don't like it when there are apps on my phone which I didn't install myself that bothers me very much. :silly:
I didn't want to remove the "system UI" but the question was if I could remove the "TouchWhize home" and use the "System UI" instead.
The "System UI" has the jellybean logo so in my eyes this would be the official android skin?
Thanks for your reply! :good:
Best option for removing the Samsung apps is to root your phone. Touchwiz is also the default home of your S3. I am on Apex so I don't use it. But i am not sure if you can run System UI. Never seen it.
If you want a JellyBean theme then download Apex Launcher or Go Launcher and download the JellyBean themes from the Play Store. They're all free from memory. I use to use them.

you are very misinformed the system ui isnt the stock jelly bean launcher that is the things such as the status bar etc so whatever you do you dont want to remove that as it will give you a tonne of force closes also as the other guy said there are many launchers that can give the stock experience i aswell used to use apex launcher, it has a tonne of customization and is very smooth. you can after youve installed apex launcher uninstall touchwiz if you are rooted although i dont recommend it. if it bothers you id just recommend freezing/disabling it
Wasn't sure.

I wasn't sure about that "System UI" so if I root the phone I will let the "TouchWhize home" on the phone and install a launcher.
Also I would like to know if I am still able to update my Samsung Galaxy S3 after rooting.
Edit: 4/21/2013 - 3:24 AM
What if I still change my mind to install a different rom which rom would give me the most updated version of jelly bean?
Thanks for your reply :highfive:
I recommend Apex Launcher for a rooted phone and Go Launcher for unrooted. Go Launcher is probably the best but if your rooted its not really as good anymore.
With the Samsung updates I'm not sure if you can because I have not done it but from my knowledge. If you run a custom ROM, it will notify you for an update which will probably give you the features of the latest update.
I am running Resurrection Remix JB 3.1.4 running android 4.2.1

you cant update your rom if you put a rom on it the only way to do it is when a new fw comes out wait for the devs to update their rom then download the rom and reflash it. if you want a complete vanilla android rom then 4.2.2 is the latest fw and you will find most of them roms in the original development thread if you want a samsung based rom and just download a different launcher then i would recommend 4.1.2 as the 4.2 versions are leaked and can be unstable, for stock android the latest none leaked fw is emc3
Thanks for all the replys!

I can imagine that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is not that much worth in the UK
The Netherlands didn't get the Nexus 4 so there are just a few stores which sell the Nexus 4.
So before that everyone would have the S4 I sold my S3 and bought the Nexus 4.
I thought that would be a smart idea and so far it is :silly:
Hello,
So I've had enough of TouchWiz ROM (so laggy etc). I decided to install SOKP 4.4.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/galaxy-s3-i9300-kk-4-4-2-t2705023).
I have a Galaxy Gear. However the phone won't connect with the Gear. I connect the phone with the watch and then Gear Manager FC.
What can I do to repair this problem ? I don't want to go back to TW Rom
But you can't use galaxy gear with an aosp rom...
It's built to work with Samsung touchwiz...
That is why you can't use gear with a nexus device..
The framework required is closed source..
So sadly to make it work either someone has to port the framework or use touchwiz based rom...

That's a pity. So In order to use my watch, I must install NULL ROM ?
EDIT : Oh anyway I manage to root and install NullRom 23. I would like to know if it's possible to get notifications such as SMS because it doesn't work. Thanks !
