[How-To] Running FXP, FXP Miui & Miui Prime on Locked BL (xRecovery / Free Kernel)
Following my FXP Port, I'm expanding the idea so that more people can enjoy these excellent roms on locked bootloader as well.
I have tested the method to work fine on FXP046, Oodie Miui Prime 004 and FXP Miui 1.4. It should work on subsequent builds unless there are major changes by the rom developer. It may work on other roms that are FXP based (but I have not tested)
Credits:
1. Z & J, Doomlord & azuzu - for too many things to mention
2. FXP, Oodie, Crowds - for the excellent roms
3. Tkymgr aka Goro - for the kernel I use as base.
4. Me - for putting these together
Instructions:
1. Do a backup before you proceed.
2. Download LockedBL.zip and copy it to SD Card: http://www.multiupload.com/1FI3RBPCOF
You need to install my modded kernel that comes with CWM5 first
- do steps 3 & 4 if your current rom is running on stock kernel or standard custom kernels
- skip steps 3 & 4 if you are currently running my Miui or FXP Port
3. Download CWM5.zip here: http://www.multiupload.com/9C0LAWAVJW
4. Flash it with xRecovery
5. Reboot and press [Back] key when "Xperia" logo appears, you should get into CWM5
6. Install the rom (FXP, FXP Miui or Miui Prime)
7. Install LockedBL.zip
8. Reboot and enjoy the rom
The rom will run on my modded Free Kernel 4.05.4 and support dual recoveries.
- To get into xRecovery, press [Back] key when SE logo appears
- To get into CWM5, press [Back] key when "Xperia" logo appears

Depend on which one you use. Original one use cwm5. I'll usually convert it to xRec version.

Hi guys, i have some noob questions:
1: So guys, if i wanna test ICS alpha rom by Z i just need to flash it in CWM5 ?? Or i have to use flashtool to create a bundle ans stuf?? i'm on Locked bootloader
2: If so, i backed up my current rom in xrecovery. Can i use CWM5 to restore a xrecovery backup??

hi, well i liked a lot your thread here and i have some questions am a newbie with a locked boot loader and never flashed a custom rom before.
well first i wanna ask if i flashed a rom in your method will my boot loader gets unlocked? and i loose the ericsson's warranty?
second i tried to flash ur steps but i failed could you help me and instruct me step by step in details how to flash these steps, esp. where i can find your modded kernel that comes with CWM5 and what do you mean by it.

1. Phone won't get bootloader unlocked when you do this .
2. Kernel is included in CWM5.zip , just flash it via xrec .
& Finally - The steps are clear enough , so no need to guide you again .Read the OP well

Edit : you have to press [Back] key when "Xperia" logo appears , to goto cwm rec .
Keep in mind that these roms need cwm to install .

i root my phone and install xrecovery cwm5 with flashtool 0.5.3.
i reboot in recovery and wipe all, finally install pRime 4.2.
And reboot, but my phone stay on Sony Ericcson screen a lot of time (about 10 min).
i put out the battery and put in, my phone don't boot.
How can i return in recovery mode?
Please help me.

Did you install LockedBL.zip (via CWM5) immediately after installing prime4.2?
what is CMW5 where can get CMW5? cause i will try to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414779 it is said there that i need to have cmw5 and i don't have any idea about CMW5 and where can i get it? right now im using XWKT3 stock rom ,rooted and i already flash clockworkmodeace.zip and turbo boost, and is CWM different from CMW? help ,e thanks
I think it's just a typing mistake and as far as I know there is nothing called CMW

Hi @philipxtian18...
What you are talking about is ClockWorkMod Recovery or CWM for short...
You should have CWM 4 installed... you need to download CWM 5 from my dropbox here : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44779766/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip
Place the .zip in the root of your sd card, enter CWM recovery, flash the .zip using CWM & it will upgrade you from CWM4 to CWM5... Reboot & you are good to go...

What has file size got to do with it...? CWM 5 is needed to flash most of the latest CM based roms as they are running 7.2 as a base model... CWM 5 is needed to flash 7.2 roms... Using CWM 4 is ooooh so stupid with regard to 7.2 roms...

most of the apps we see on planet earth, their file size increases as newer versions come out. i didn't mean to deride cwm 5. infact i am going to flash it in my sga now
Hi...i am using stock gb ...rooted and installed CWM....i thought of installing this..(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681250)
but i forgot to see the ics symbol and flashed it ...now my phone doesnt boot ! ..it shows cwm but when i boot normally it shows the sony symbol and shuts down....CAn someone help me please ....!!Also p.s i have a locked bootloader and the installation was successful....i dont have a backup...
Try wiping data and dalvik cache.using CWM.

There shouldnt be a problem running an ICS custom ROM on Stock ROM. Could be your file is corrupt. Try downloading it again and flashing it again properly. I dont know what's the problem exactly.

If you have done a Data wipe then all your apps are gone. You can install another Gingerbread ROM and try to see your apps.

Reflash stock GB with Flashtool ,but deselect wipe data,select only wipe cache.

Unfortunately no,you must wipe data and cache to boot.Only if you flash stock rom will work without wiping data.
so my root will remain with ....CWM ? and apps too ? if i flash with flashtool ?
can you gimme a guide i dont wanna make another mistake...

No,the root will not remain,only the apps. Yes you can.. But i think it'll be installed in System folder and without root you wont be able to access it i guess. Just follow the guide as you are rooting for the first time and everything should work fine. ATB
I have rooted my xperia neo v (mt11i) and also unlocked the bootloader!! i installed Rom Toolbox Pro but never made a backup for recovery.. :crying::crying:
i installed a custom font and since then my device has gone into boot looping mode.i dont have CWM installed
what do i do?pls help...

On what rom are you? Since you have unlocked flash a kernel which supports your rom.... Then you will get cwm... Then you can flash some font zip to try getting back your rom...or go back to stock with flashtool but you will lose your data this way...

Well i was using android version 4.0.3 and i really dont know the kernel version.and i cant even look because i cant start my device.
isnt there any method to wipe cache without having CWM?

your phone is rooted now no problem ... copy any rom to sdcard & fastboot compatable custom kernel now enter into cwm flash rom reboot enjoy

Installation:
Place it into internal memory or to external sd card (no matter).
Go to recovery and do Wipe Data, Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Install .zip from recovery.
Reinstall CWM after installing the rom (it'll be lost after installing the rom if you're on stock kernel)
Download:
stock_f_rom.zip

Dont worry. Install cwm again. Did u check in ur App drawer a app named Superuser or supersu is there?

I have unlocked bootloader. The man who had phone with locked bootloader and tested the rom, said me that everything works OK.
Sory for misinformation. I deleted CWM from description in OP.
