Does anyone have a copy of the apk for AT&T messages 2.0.5.62 (Latest version of the non-tablet variant) After installing a CM build for my Atrix the app no longer appears on the market for me.

If it normally comes with the stock ROM, maybe you can just extract it from a fruitcake.

Unfortunately its not, play store only.
I even attempted to download it by editing my build.prop with AT&T related lines from another AT&T phone's stock rom, and tried the device id from a stock AT&T HTC One X (with PC based apk downloading software) but no luck.
All I was able to find on my stock froyo flipside was att messages that encrypts. I don't know if that's what you're looking for but if so, lemme know and I'll pull it for you.
Ah.
Well here's the app in Play Store.
Maybe you can use this to download the APK?

I was able to find it on an aftermarket app store but not the version you want. If you want more details, pm me.

Older versions were really unstable, I was only ever able to get the last two(ish) versions to run on my Atrix. Thanks anyway though.
So I guess everyone has modded their atrix to the point where this app doesn't appear in the store?

Upon getting my Atrix and rooting it, I uninstalled some of the bloatware Bell put on it. However, I saw some topics on XDA saying that the apps should be frozen instead of removed, otherwise the phone could not be updated. Does someone with a Bell Atrix mind putting up the APKs of apps that Bell put on (Remote PVR, Kobo, TV & Radio, Zoompass + others)? Thanks in advance.
Here is a .zip with a dump of my /system directory. if you go into the app folder in that .zip all the .apk's you're looking for should be in there
Hey I just got my bell atrix too, what are those files necessary for?

it's just because he removed them. They're on every device and if you don't know what they're for, then you haven't removed them or done anything to them so you don't need to download that. It's just that it is rumoured that without them you can't install an official update.

the "roms" that are out now for the atrix (not technically the same as a traditional rom) will freeze the apps by themselves, but not exactly delete them. This is the accepted method, freezing them will stop them from taking up memory/lagging your device, but won't affect any updates that are to be made.
that being said - none of the ROMs out just yet include bell support - although ken is working on it for his next release of GingerBlur.
how can I install the APKs from the fastboot screen? Is it even possible?

no, unfortunately not. the only thing that would really help is a .sbf file that you could flash through RSD.
the only problem is that neither bell, nor motorola canada has seen fit to "release" (or leak) the necessary files to flash our phones back to stock.

Sorry for digging up an old thread. I accidentally deleted some of the Bell bloatware, and I think I'll need those for the new GB update that's being released. I tried installing the apks posted in this thread, but some of them won't work. I'm guessing it's a different version than after the 2.2.2 update?
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
Which version is this dump from, is it 2.2.2? I ask because my 2.3.4 update is failing because the /system/etc/apns-conf.xml file is failing the hash check - I tried overwriting it with the one in your zip but it still isn't working :-/
Try erasing cache data, then installing the 2.2.2 gobstopper by nfhimself.

AFAIK, you'll need to wait for one specific to our device. Otherwise you'll lose functionality of some of your buttons.

T-Mobile version is completely different hardware - OMAP4!
In a week or two you should start seeing ROM ports from the GT-I9100 - the differences aren't significant and in fact userland might be 100% compatible (except for the NFC stuff, which is probably only in our ROM.)
Seriously - we just got our first good stock kernel dump 2 hours ago. Expecting OS upgrades already is a LITTLE bit impatient...

+1. This is just the beginning of something great. Good solid stock kernel dump, and things can go from there. Like Entropy said, give it a week or two and we'll start seeing some Rom ports

How To Update Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 with Gingerbread 2.3.5 Firmware
Yeah, I'm a noob. I just received the SGS2 via AT&T web store. I'll be happy to thank anyone that can help (see I watched your video).
Has anyone done this? I've looked on this site and can't find any info for this technique. I don't want to root the phone at this time. I'd just like to get into the Amazon AppStore which is suppose to be possible with Android 2.3.5

You can download and install the amazon app store just fine on the stock att device. Go to settings, applications, and check Unknown Sources. If you go to Amazon's site they will text you a link to download the app.

I've checked unknown sources and tried getting Amazon to send me email and I haven't received anything yet.
Thanks for the reply.

once you have unknown sources checked, point your phone's browser to www.amazon.com/amazonappstoreapp and it should start the download
or you could flash Perception...It is a port of KI3 from the i9100 forum.
tchan012, you're a genius! At the minimum a heck 'o lot smarter than I. Thanks, that did the trick. I was able to D/L the Amazon Appstore app. And then the app.
Mucho thanks.
Another query. Is the only way to see where files are stored on the phone via usb cable to a computer, would be to root the phone? I found a few apps I'd like to drop into the phone via usb cable/computer but can't find the apps already on the phone.
Being a noob is frustrating.
Accidentally quoted myself instead of editing, see below. vvvv
Whoops tried to edit not quote.

You cannot see certain parts of the internal memory through the USB cable (even with root). But, you can copy over the apk files and install them on the phone. Then you can delete the apks.
You may be able to see where the apps are without root access, but you will only have read access to that folder unless you root. That's fine though, you don't want to touch those files unless you know what you are doing, deleting the wrong files will really mess up your phone.
Best way to install apps is to download the apk directly on the phone, then open it. It will install for you. Or, download on your computer and copy to your phone over USB, then open the file on your phone. I use astro as a file manager to locate and open the files, its free on the market and has lots of great features.
Hope this helps. You won't be a n00b for long, you'll pick it up quick.

Thanks quarlow, I'll hunt down Astro and give it a whirl. I can see very few files via the usb cable. I haven't tried renaming or moving anything as you say, it could be like running through the registry of windows and deleting various files and watching windows freeze forever.
Here's hoping my noobiness wears off soon.
In a couple of months I'll feel comfy 'nough to root the sucker.
It certainly is a cool phone.
If you want to make apps a part of the ROM itself (be VERY careful with this), you need root.
If you just want to "sideload" apps - root is not needed, just enabling Unknown Sources. Once you do that, you can install apps from file managers, the browser, or using ADB. (USB Debugging)
For more on ADB, if you're a Windows user you may want to check out Droid Explorer.
Thanks for the info. Are we there yet? <oops sorry, talking to the wife, she's driving...>
Need some help, please. Recently flashed a sweet ROM, but lost the stock Visual Voicemail app. The one in the ROM is broken. By any chance, would someone have the apk file for the stock Visual Voicemail? It would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a rom on your sdcard that has the working voicemail just extract that apk with root explorer. Then install it to the system/ app directory.
Thanks for the pointer. Gave it a shot, but no luck. For some reason the stock visual Voicemail isn't in the other find I have.
sent from my HTC Thunderbolt using Tapatalk!
Ok, so I can't post in the thread for that ROM. So, I have android backups that are pre flash, at home. I ran a backup on this phone. I will flash back with recovery, use titanium to back up the stock Voicemail apk, then flash back with the recovery ran today and install.
Pretty much sums up my own answer to my own question, unless I'm missing something? Seems like a stupid question. With a new days light on it. I MUST have been tired when I posted that. Even being a noob, that seems obvious.

That didn't work. Copied it fine, but Titanium just sits there restoring and never actually finishes.
Does ANYONE have the stock VVM APK for the Thunderbolt?
Never did get visual voicemail to work with the Rom. Changed Roms and it works fine now.

That probably won't work as it is most likely odexed. I will upload a deodexed version shortly.
Here is visual voicemail as well as the backup assistant. If you want visual voicemail then the only thing you need is VVM.apk, the other two are for the verizon backup assistant (which I find useful as you can add contacts on the web).

What VVM needs along with itself is the VZW login apk which apparently hasn't been leaked in a working version for 4.1 because the 4.0.4 and previous versions do not work with 4.1.x so I'm guessing we wait for the first VZW build leak and pull them out of it. Only solution for now.

Did anyone get this to work on ICS? I've tried backing up the original APK from the stock Sense rom and copying to an AOSP rom (thundershed) and have had no luck.

People say VVM works with RootzBoat (edit: had to remove link cause I'm a newb, just google rootzboat jelly bean) and the author in that thread mentions he has included various VZW bits. Is it safe to assume the VZW login apk is part of that rom and that we could extract it and install on a different rom to get VVM working again?
I would download it and check but for some reason I can't reach the server the zip is hosted on. Apparently goo.im is down?

If I read correctly you dont need that second SSO apk on ICS because it has. A built in APNfor visual voicemail. Each carrier just has to have their own vvm app and it'll work. I need to get it working on liquid ics tho. I miss it already

Could you kindly upload the latest Wallet.apk?
Thank you!

get the f*** off my obstacle course!
You mean this one?
latest version identifies unsupported device. so you might wanna think twice before doing that.
Yep.. I get insufficient privileges. This method used to work until previous version if I flash the CM9 NFC lib then copy Wallet.apk to system/app, but obviously since prepaid card no longer works, I wanted to try if the new version of Wallet.apk would work.
So I guess there's no fix unless I totally go back to pure stock or someone else comes up with the mod?
I have Nexus S on custom 4.0.4 ROM, rooted and bootloader unlocked.

Pure stock might be an issue too. I'm getting an update popup on my wallet app, and when I attempted to use it yesterday, it didn't work. I haven't tried again, but there may be an issue there too, just a head's up.

Here is the link for it. I don't know if build.prop would prevent from it but once you install this, update it at playstore. Make sure you make a nandroid before you flash this in custom recovery.

Thank you. This works some what. The only problem is when I turn my phone on it says unfortunately verizon login has stopped working. I can still use the app to login though. Thank you again!
I believe you need the Verizon Login app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/...verizon.ssodownloadable&feature=search_result this link is for the play store. Its required for certain Verizon Wireless apps to work.
