[Q] Bootloop S-ON HBOOT-1.53.0007 - HTC EVO 3D

Hello,
i hope someone out there can help me with my problem.
i was trying to flash a custom rom on my evo 3d. i made a few steps threw a few tutorials and the htcdev.com site.
after all that i flashed CyanogenMod 9 on my evo3d via 4EXT. after rebooting i stook in bootloop.
i tried to flash a few other roms like KingCobra, but it did not work at all. i really dont know what to do now.
i also tried to flash other boot images, which did not work too.
my bootloader is unlocked and i got S-ON HBOOT-1.53.0007. at the moment there is no working rom on my device.
i can only work with the bootloader and 4ext.
i hope someone can help me flashing a rom (meanwhile it doesnt matter any more which one) on my htc so i can use it again.
sorry for my english.
Sincerely

not yet... every stock, rooted rom i find in this forum/in other forums is just for S-OFF devices. i would need it for S-ON on evo 3d gsm... u know where i can get one?

i solved the problem by installing kingcobra 1.6 and flashing the kernel in the instruction via adb.

Good. Now that your phone boots, I recommend you s-off. It allows you to flash ROMs without a separate kernel flash. You can also downgrade your hboot which is needed to flash some ROMs.

Which recovery you have installed? Install 4ext rc3 and flash the Rom, you might not be able to do it cause you must be flashing an ics Rom which requires a different kernel, either use fastboot to flash the boot.img or use 4ext touch recovery...
Thanks for the help bro.
I just want to make this straight.
What should i do and which recovery should i install to install ics rom?
Just letting u know that mine is s-on
EDIT:I tried the 4ext recovery rc3. But still failed. I cant install ics rom with it.

Thank you for the quick reply, but i don't really understand which ROM should i flash. Can i just factory reset? and do the OTA?
Chainfire is not supported on our evos, you will soft brick every time. You have to flash a new Rom. Either flash a Rom and kernel separately or flash a Rom with kernel installer like meanrom

om4, thank you for the reply. I've read your Dont' Panic thread, would it be possible to flash the boot.img alone? can i flash with the latest RUU ? or is there a latest stock ROM available, because i only get from search is the previous stock ROM

Thank you very much om4, the link in OP thread is dead but i can manage to find Captain_Throwback link.Do i need to relock the bootloader? and I still need to flash the kernel after i flash it with the deodex stock right?
If i decide to go with the mean rom, should i re-lock the bootlader or just straight flashing the rom after clean wipe and factory reset?
If you flash meanrom you don't need to relock bootloader. Only relock the bootloader if you are getting ready to flash ruu or if you are trying to accept an ota. To accept an ota you would need a stock Rom and recovery before relocking bootloader

What's my next step?

Hey guys I rooted this phone almost a year ago and installed a custom rom. I remember the procedure being very different from other phones I have done and very complicated. At the moment I am still "S-on" and running Android Revolution HD 1.1.0 (android 2.3.4)
My goal is to install the newest version of Android Revolution ( looking for a very stable rom, so I'm open to suggestions)
The thread mentions extra steps if you are coming from a non-ics rom.
Also Im considering the Energy rom. (this one does not specify any extra complicated steps)
In the current state that I'm in should I run the all in one s-off tool? do I even need that for these roms? what recovery should I flash? (Im currently on a CW based recovery)
Thanks in advance for all the help.
you should first flash back to stock.... then update to ICS... after that you should once again unlock your bootloader and flash 4ext recovery this time.. but you id really suggest updating to ICS before trying to flash any ICS roms..., specially since your still "S-ON"

To my understanding, flashing back to stock requires the stock recovery and a stock image.
I found the stock image here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Amaze_4G/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
but can somebody help me find a stock recovery?

Relock bootloader. Flash RUU for your carrier in bootloader. There are plenty of threads, and 2 stickies describing this

[Q] Rooting Hboot 1.57.0000

Hey guys,
Im new to HTC One. I have Tmobile version running on stock sense 6. I wanted to install a custom stock rom without the Tmobile Bloatware.
I know how to unlock the bootloader using HTC Dev method and install recovery to root. But i am a bit confused about S-Off. I have read that S-off will not work with Hboot 1.57.0000
So my questions are
1. Do i really have to S-off to install custom roms on HTC?
2. If not can i install ROMs for the int. version on my phone ?
3. Does the CID ver/number have anything to do with unlocking and rooting?
Thanks in advance.

2. If not can i install ROMs for the int. version on my phone ? Yes, just make sure that T-Mobile is supported it will be in the OP.
3. Does the CID ver/number have anything to do with unlocking and rooting? No, flashing firmware and RUU are dependent on CID.
Thanks in advance.

See answers above. Just keep in mind that WiFi calling is not generally supported in the present custom roms. Make a nandroid backup of your system and save to your computer for safe keeping should you need to go back. Stuff happens!!!

Thank you for the reply. I have successfully rooted my stock rom and installed CWM recovery. And i have flashed custom kernel too.
I would now like to flash a 4.4.3 sense custom rom. I have read on some threads that the kernel wont be flashed on S-on devices. So do i have to flash a custom rom always after flashing a custom rom?
And one more thing. I currently have CWM touch recovery. I have seen lot of roms require TWRP. So my question is does the recovery image depend on the HTC variant? I have a Tmobile M7UL

It all depends on the custom rom but most have options to keep the stock kernel or chose a custom kernel in Aroma. It should explain in the OP what they are providing. As far as TWRP vs CWM, the developer will test his rom on the one that works best for him so he/she will recommend the custom recovery that doesn't cause him issues. Yes, there are specific custom recoveries for the different variants because the partition tables are different.

Gotta install stock ICS before you can install other ROM's. After installing the stock ICS you must install the radio update for it. Only after this can you successfully install other ICS ROM's.
