you needed to take the tmibile ICS OTA Update...I Think it updates your boot so ICS can run...if you can get into your recovery try flashing a gingerbread rom..

Gotta install stock ICS before you can install other ROM's. After installing the stock ICS you must install the radio update for it. Only after this can you successfully install other ICS ROM's.

Hello,
i hope someone out there can help me with my problem.
i was trying to flash a custom rom on my evo 3d. i made a few steps threw a few tutorials and the htcdev.com site.
after all that i flashed CyanogenMod 9 on my evo3d via 4EXT. after rebooting i stook in bootloop.
i tried to flash a few other roms like KingCobra, but it did not work at all. i really dont know what to do now.
i also tried to flash other boot images, which did not work too.
my bootloader is unlocked and i got S-ON HBOOT-1.53.0007. at the moment there is no working rom on my device.
i can only work with the bootloader and 4ext.
i hope someone can help me flashing a rom (meanwhile it doesnt matter any more which one) on my htc so i can use it again.
sorry for my english.
Sincerely
Have you tried a stock, rooted Rom?

not yet... every stock, rooted rom i find in this forum/in other forums is just for S-OFF devices. i would need it for S-ON on evo 3d gsm... u know where i can get one?
i solved the problem by installing kingcobra 1.6 and flashing the kernel in the instruction via adb.
Good. Now that your phone boots, I recommend you s-off. It allows you to flash ROMs without a separate kernel flash. You can also downgrade your hboot which is needed to flash some ROMs.

Hey guys I rooted this phone almost a year ago and installed a custom rom. I remember the procedure being very different from other phones I have done and very complicated. At the moment I am still "S-on" and running Android Revolution HD 1.1.0 (android 2.3.4)
My goal is to install the newest version of Android Revolution ( looking for a very stable rom, so I'm open to suggestions)
The thread mentions extra steps if you are coming from a non-ics rom.
Also Im considering the Energy rom. (this one does not specify any extra complicated steps)
In the current state that I'm in should I run the all in one s-off tool? do I even need that for these roms? what recovery should I flash? (Im currently on a CW based recovery)
Thanks in advance for all the help.
you should first flash back to stock.... then update to ICS... after that you should once again unlock your bootloader and flash 4ext recovery this time.. but you id really suggest updating to ICS before trying to flash any ICS roms..., specially since your still "S-ON"

To my understanding, flashing back to stock requires the stock recovery and a stock image.
I found the stock image here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Amaze_4G/ROMs#Stock_ROMs
but can somebody help me find a stock recovery?

Relock bootloader. Flash RUU for your carrier in bootloader. There are plenty of threads, and 2 stickies describing this

Hey Guys,
i have the my update sitting at my device for ages, never manged to install it. I had TWRP 2.3 recovery first, and while the software update didnt flash and aborted with error 7 i flashed the stock recovery via fastboot.
Stock recovery just restarts the phone when it compledted like 60-70%.
Htc support just hang up when i gave through my imei with the comment "it has a costum rom, we dont support that, bye".
yeah, im not even using a costum rom. I'll try the RUU tonight, lets hope that works.
Does anyone have further suggestions or even the new stock 4.2.2 rom?
Regards
Honestly just install a custom Sense 5 Rom to save yourself some trouble.

I just tried to install the Cyanogen Rom v10.1 (cm-10.1-20130215-UNOFFICIAL-shooteru) using TWRP and it is now stuck on the Loading screen for CM. I can reboot to recovery and do all of that stuff it just wont load into the OS.
Someone help please as this is my first time rooting, and installing a ROM!
Most likely you need to downgrade your hboot

first try flashing the 4ext recovery and trying re flashing the rom with that, if no joy downgrade hboot using my guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172, if still u have no joy, check md5 for the rom, if thats correct, maybe the rom isnt stable, try an earlier release
Same problem with cm 10
Try miui Rom cool Rom and stable as hell
Hit thanks .
i had the same issue with my evo 3d, you need to be s-off and have hboot 1.5 or lower
