Annoying Google Voice - HTC Rezound

I'm trying to watch YouTube videos, but every time I turn my phone sideways it opens Google voice. How do I stop that?

Get rid of Google voice?

You have to have something doing that, because that doesn't happen on its own. Do you have Tasker or Locale or anything other automation software?

No, I don't have either of those. After flashing Neo's AOKP 1.4 last night and downloading a few apps (Sky Motion, Netflix, XDA, etc.) it started happening this morning (this is the only time I've used the YouTube App today). Although, it happened last night while I was on his CM9 build, too. I don't know what the root cause is.

I use GV exclusively and I'm having no issues with it on Gray's CM9. Playing a YouTube vid in landscape right now for a test and it's fine for me.

It opens Google voice, or voice actions? Are pressing and holding the search key by mistake? Sorry for the low level ?, just trying to help.

It actually opens the Google Voice (the screen with the white background that glows red when you speak into it), if that's what it is called. I was not pressing the search key, I made sure of that. Oh well, tis a mystery.

Ah, this would be "Google Voice Typing", used then you search and when doing voice to text, very different than "Google Voice", which is a call forward/SMS/Voicemail service that Google offers... but other than that little tidbit of information, I got nothin', sorry.

Yea. I was thinking Google Voice when I replied, not Google Voice Typing...doesn't change my reply any though.

Well, I'm on Neo's 1.4 AOKP with hboot: 2.27.000 and the latest radios and firmware. Before I flashed AOKP I flashed the latest RUU, so I'm assuming I also have the latest firmware. It happened again several times today when I turned my phone sideways while watching YouTube. This Google thing is getting annoying. I'm ready to just remove it, lol. Dumb Google Now

Ive tried researching this but I have came up empty handed. It appears once my screen is off google talk is logged out. How do I keep google talk always logged in?
Thanks for any help!

I really hope this isnt a wide spread thing. I use Google talk heavily. I cant afford for it to disconnect upon my screen timing out. I havent used it since I activated my phone to test though.
Maybe check under the power saver option in settings. There is an option to turn off background data when the screen turns off. Maybe that's it?

I will try that setting out and report back

Just uncheck auto away status and it will stop logging out.

Is anyone else having an issue where google talk won't load for them? I touch the icon and it looks like it loads for a second then flashes back to the app drawer. I tried clearing the application data, didn't help, and of course I can't uninstall/reinstall

Yup, I have to restart the phone to get it working. I also notice that Restart does NOT restart the phone for me. It powers it down.

[Q] Visual Voicemail on CM7?

Is there a way to get vvm working? I get bootloops and loss of haptic buttons once restored from TB. Have to reinstall rom after to regain button functionality. Yes, I included the service too. Tried w&w/o data.

I've been wondering about this too. I've got about 25 saved voicemails that are a ***** to go through over the phone.
How difficult is it to port your number over to g voice?

Super easy install gapps.zip or grab it from goggle and the first time you open the app it gives you a phone number to call...it beeps a couple times and hangs up and then a menu pops up to guide you through so other basic setup questions...literally takes about three minutes

Not google Voice, but google voice SEARCH.

S Voice not working, won't always speak ???

S voice doesn't always want to talk, and yes Voice Prompt is turned on.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Same with driving mode text to speech, wont always talk. I've installed the voice synthesis software, what is wrong?
Anyone else having this issue?

Same behavior here.
I call it the Vlingo Disaster. This S-Voice bs was just as buggy on Epic Touch (sgs2 for Sprint). It's just a buggy piece of crapware.

There was a fix for GB roms for Epic Touch - replace the vlingo.apk (or something like that, don't remember exact name) with a google voice dialer app (name the same as the one being replaced). I wonder if it still works...
Try reading the OP of this thread, see if changing those settings helps.

@nabbed, how would changing the name of an app before install (which would fail on a lot of apps) help, when the app is installed, svoice will not use that just because it was named what the original app file was named, dosnt work that way.

Sorry, I forgot to add a link, please look again, and read that OP in that thread I linked to.... But like I said, just because you change the name of an app, dosnt mean its called upon by svoice. Now if you unistall vlingo it will use what ever you have installed, no matter what the name of the app is....... Now onto why other apps won't work when the name is changed, well the problem there would be the checks made by the installer to see if anything was messed with, verification checks. That's not true on most google apps, but paid apps, well you may have an issue if you change the name. Just giving some clarification is all.

I don't know what you are talking about. Sorry, you make little sense, if any at all..
I'm confused at both people above
Any other suggestions?....
Again, S Voice works, as in it listens to me and searches for what I ask, but about 90 percent of the time she fails to talk back to me.
For example I'll say set alarm, maybe one in 10 times she will respond spoken, the other 9 times she stays quiet. The phone is not on mute, voice prompt is turned on.
Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, because what thats doing is changing your tts settings, these are universal, and not phone specific.

Those who have this working, are you running CM9 or the like, or are you actually getting this to function on Sense? I am curious before I dive in, because it says it only works on AOSP ROMs.

Open "Voice Search" = "Didn't catch that. Try speaking again." Typing works great!
Google Search Widget = Same as above.
Open "Voice Search for Google" = Works fantastic
does Google Now talk back to you when you speak in voice?
When I press the little voice icon in the top right hand corner, it just beeps twice
