Little number notifiers - HTC EVO 3D

I have no idea what this is called or I wouldn't be asking on here. When I had the stock rom and I do a text or something I would always have little number on the top right of the app launcher to teller how any messages I have. Now since flashing devil toast,I don't. Is there an app for getting them back? Cheers

not sure if this is what you want:
settings>system>status bar>show notification count
if you want a count of unread messages, you're going to have to look into the settings of your messaging app.
hope this helps

Thanks but that's not what I'm looking for,I already have that on. I mean the little numbers over the app itself that tell you how many messages I have. E.g. when I receive a text,I get the notification in the status bar and on the text app itself. Sorry if I'm describing it wrong I just don't know how else to word it

I believe the problem is that the AOSP messaging app that devil toast uses doesn't support that feature. The stock Rom uses HTC's messaging app which has the unread icon on the app shortcut. Anytime I've used an AOSP messaging app, it only shows notifications in the status bar, not on the app shortcut.

Ahh that's a shame, I didn't think I'd miss it to be honest but I can live without it. Thanks anyway!

Status bar

Hey guys, I tried to add a transparency hack and seemed to have completely lost my status bar. Is there a fix for this or another way to make it transparent? I'm on Cm7 beta

You need to search before posting!

Sorry i'm on my phone and search doesn't work that great
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Agreed XDAs search feature sucks, no doubt about that! Just use google, type "xda atrix" and you will get results from this forum. The phone you are using has a dedicated physical button just for search. Keep in mind everytime someone starts a new thread it makes it that much harder to find the info needed on a topic. #fragmentation

Weather text widget?

I'm looking for this text widget app for weather..
Anyone knows the name all I have is this pic of it..

There are loads, I've tried looking, but can't pinpoint it.
Go to maket and use the search words "Text weather ". There are quite a few!
Good luck, I'm sure someone will know.
Lol I know.. I searched and searched and I just cannot find it.. I think I may just be overlooking it..

That's "Weather Widgets" by Pixelspore using 4x1 widget (choosing the very last layout in the select widget). It's a paid app.
Hope that helps.
Confirmed.
Cheers
Thanxies..

advanced widget clock
.
Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
Looks like Advanced Clock Widget, you'll need to mess around with the layout and options to get it to look like that, though.

Automatically Clear Notification - App

I've searched, and I cannot find any app that will automatically clear a specific notification once its been received. I keep receiving a useless notification all the time, and keep having to clear it. I want an app that will automatically clear that notification every time I receive it.
This thread is to see if anyone knows of ANY app that can do this, or
To (petition?) for an that can do this. So, if there isn't an app that can do this, POST HERE THAT YOU WANT ONE

Pent from Tasker, or Crafty Apps told me that there is no app because Android doesn't allow it, presumably for security reasons.
If this is true, this will be a sort of petition for Google to change that and make the option available if desired.

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

Yes!
i have been looking for this. i don't want my notifications to appear on the screen, but i want to get a vibrate notification, or a sound notification for my notifications for fb messenger, and textfree. i have used tasker for this, and all that i could do was make the status bar expand whenever i unlock my screen. it did not automatically clear it, so it wasn't helpful. i need this!
I have found a way to do this. you have to go to settings -> applications -> and choose the app. from there, uncheck the box for notifications, and you are good to go.

Yep, that's only possible on JellyBean. On other Android versions there isn't way to do it, and I think Google will not add it (because JellyBean already have it, so there is no reason to add it to older versions).

I have Android 4.0.4 so if they added the feature in Jellybean then they did what I and the other people of this forum wanted. Yay.
I'm going to get the Nexus 4 once its out of the sort of beta testing a phone goes through when it first comes out. THEN THE OPTION SHALL ME MINE!!!

[Q][CM10] Remove white background in landscape mode

Hey,
I already searched Google and the Forum but I didn't find any help. The thing that bothers me is, that when you're in Landscape mode especially in WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger you don't actually write in the App but in a white Box which pops up. Is there a way to remove it? I'm using CM10 as stated in the title.
I hope I'm not breaking any rules while posting here since it's about CM10.

That is kind of thing that must be related to a keyboard input you're using, try 3rd party keyboards, as I remember GO Keyboard supports that.
thank you in advance I will try that

New Feature for the Forums: Mention and Quote-Tracking!

If you are wondering (like I was) why you are getting quote notifications in the private messaging counts and via email read this XDA wiki post.
There are similar notifications by default when someone "mentions" you as "@username" in a post.
Both of these features can be configured from this page.

Yeah I turned that crap off!
My inbox was getting spammed left and right!
I think XDA is a bit confused.........this is not twitter so there's no need for mentions :good:
Is there a way to get notifications for PMs on the app?
Sometimes I don't realize I have one until a week later when I get bored and actually look in there.

I know in tapatalk there's notifications set by default for that kind of stuff BUT I haven't used the XDA app in a long time so I'm not really sure.
I would assume that there's an option for that some where in settings since the XDA app is just a personalized version of the tapatalk app BUT I could be wrong.....
