And is there any way to separate them? Very annoying when listening to music to get notifications for emails.

 There is an option "use incoming call volume for notifications". Untick that

To me is very helpful, since I don't want to lost any work e-mail, I need the notifications to be impossible to miss

It is a design decision made by Google in ICS.

They are doing it for usability reasons. Essentially notifications and ringtones serve the same purpose, and there are very few use cases when those need to be different.

They really don't though. At the moment I'm talking about music and it's annoyance of being interrupted by an email every 5 minutes. I'll work out something with tasker anyway.
However what about wanting phone calls at night but not emails. At 2am someone calls i want to hear it. I don't want to hear my email.
Apple is getting praise for finally separating the 2 and Google goes the other way. Very silly

I have the same problem - so I just switch off WLAN and data traffic when I'm on call.. No more waking up for an email

I wished i could set my notification tone quieter like i could in previous versions.

I had an app on iOS that whenever a call came in, it didn't take up the whole screen. It only showed up on top, similar to the iOS 5 notifications. There are times I don't feel like answering a call when using my phone and I don't want to reject it because then they would know. Is there an app that can stop incoming calls from using the whole screen on android?

No one has anything?

The only thing I can think of is a stock feature on CM7. It only gives you a status bar notification that you have an incoming call. I'm not sure if there are apps for that, but I'd imagine not.
I'm trying to stay away from CM7. I'm on UnNamed. How has a dev still not put something like this together?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
It involves modding the framework. CM7 has a modded framework, that's why it has it.
It isn't easy to implement and requires actual coding, not something normal ROM developers can do.

inorite? Lazy ass devs should be fired.
Perhaps you should try to produce something of your own instead of expecting others to do it for you. Or maybe try searching here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=530

Just questioning why the idea hasn't been thrown about before. I can't code or else I wouldn't be making a post like this. Maybe you should stop being a smart ass.

...not sure how many of you are still searching, but Small Call PRO is basically CallBar for Android...except you don't have to jailbreak.
Small Call much like CallBar

Yes, there is an app on the Google Play store called Small Call. Its does the same thing CallBar does but for Android and it works pretty well. I downloaded it on my S3 and its the app on my phone I use the most.
Small call is OK. I have had issues with it. Also I don't think it has a quick call feature like callbar does
My phone reads out emails loud when s-pen is near the screen! What should I do to turn this feature off?
the only time I've heard mine read anything outloud, other than caller id, which is an app I have setup, was when I inadvertently turned driving mode on-check for that in your toggles

Hmm. I read of people having trouble with hovering over the screen with the s-pen and it acting like it was already touching the screen. They said hitting it against something hard fixed the issue. Try that? Lol!

This is the only thread I can find about this, so I'll revive it here.
I have car mode off
All Accessibility features off (except for my Pebble notifications), in the Talkback Accessibility, I unchecked everything (just in case) even though it's off.
Under Text-to-speech output, if I choose the 'very slow' speech rate, I can confirm that the emails are IN FACT spoken more slowly.
How do I stop this text-to-speech from happening? I can't find a visual impair setting anywhere.
Edit: I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT.
Even having Pebble on Accessibility notifications (for some reason) enables TTS features, no matter what you disable. This has been realized for other Accessibility options in Touchwiz before, so for anyone having this issue, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36228563&postcount=9
Hopefully it's fixed in future software updates!
So, i really want my ringer on all the time, i usually don't get many calls but the ones i get are important. So is there a way to set all other notifications (text, email, ect) to vibrate while its still in the sound profile so my phone still rings?

I wanted the same thing. I think the best way to do it is using an app called Smart Profiles. I haven't actually tried it yet though.

Can't you do this natively?
By going into Settings>sound>volumes and setting ringtone to max and everything else to silent (slider all the way to the left should be silent), and make sure Ringtone with vibration is checked in the sound settings as well?
It should make calls full volume (with vibration) and everything else on vibrate only.
Or am I mistaken/not understanding the request?

Good call. I was thinking he wanted this profile only at certain times, but that's not stated in the OP, just my assumption.
I looked through all the settings and didn't see where this is.... when people call me it says "such and such calling" Any way to disable this? Or anyone know if I enabled it somehow?!>!

If I'm not mistaken, but you could have something turned on under accessibility menu.

If u uncheck this it will not read the name of the caller out loud. Hope this helps since no one seemed to know the answer.

I actually just posted a thread similar to this. I found out you can turn it off but you have to turn off voice control as well. The thing is I like to sometime answer calls with voice control because my hands are busy or in the shower or whatever...
With my previous phones(S4, Note 2), I could turn the caller ID voice prompt off independently and still have the voice control feature. But with the S5, it's both or nothing. I'm hoping I missed something but I've looked and looked...
But if you don't need both features, you can turn both off together but not one or the other(call settings > answering and ending calls > voice control).

Thanks for the reply. I too think it would be nice if u could toggle them independently. Maybe someone can cook that into a ROM.

I would like to have the usual "in call notification" turned into a card (since it's persistent it DOESN'T become a card). At least 'end call' (I would use this a lot for calls on speaker phone or bluetooth) and possibly number to dial, not sure how the numbers would look, but I would really like this.
Right now I'm using a tasker task to put up a notification...
