There isn't much support for the device (sadly) so it's kinda difficult to get something out of it...
I own also this phone but the progress has been made is very slow... No offence to the developers...
I unlocked the sim, i rooted that device, and i flashed cwm 6.0 and installed an unofficial cm10 for that device, if someone wants to know how to make that just send me a pm...
Problem
Hi guys,
I have this smartphone in hand and I've a problem: in recovery mod (original recovery) i find this message "E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/ recovery /command
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:failed to mount /cache last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery//last_log
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory) "
so i can't install CWM or Custom ROM, but the real problem is that the smartphone , when i try to start it, doesnt'go on... Has someone solutions about it?

Okay so yesterday I got my Nexus S 4G Sprint. I was eager to flash the MIUI Rom so that was the first thing I did when I got home. I successfully installed the rom, but then noticed I had no service. I looked and looked for a way to fix the problem and I heard I needed a new kernel, I tried doing that, still no luck, heard I needed a more up to date CWM, I noticed that mine was actually out of date, so then I updated it to 3.0.0.0.
Now I can't mount the USP from CWM. And it says the following:
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.0
E: Can't find misc
E: Failed to find "cache" partion to mount at "/cache"
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't find misc
E:failed to find "cache" partion to mount at "/cache"
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Cant open /cache/recovery/log
etc..
At this point I really would just like to either fix MIUI have it running with service, or just unroot and bring it back to Stock Android. But Im having trouble finding a Mac Unroot Tutorial, and finding one thats up to date.
I tied flashing back my stock rom (GT-I9100_NEE_I9100XWKI4_I9100OXXKI2_I9100XXKI1) through odin, but when my phone restarts it goes straight to Android system recovery and a lot of errors come up with red writing saying...
E:failed to mount /efs (no such file of directory)
E:failed to mound /cache (no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I tried to wipe data/factory reset and it says
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p10
Please help as i am a real noob at this
I understand i should have read through the forum properly but eagerness took over me
what firmware did you have before?
Reflash following the instructions for first step .

Thanks guys just found out i was flashing the wrong stock rom should have been

Hey all,
So the other day I went through my SD card and erased about 11GB of stuff I thought that I didnt need. Didnt run into any issues.... until this morning.
I attempted to flash a ROM this morning and halfway through I get this message:
-Formatting NAND with ext4 Alignment...
Installing system files...
E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 0)
And then goes back to the install zip menu.
When I try to do a NAND backup I get this error:
E: Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Cant open /cache/recovery/log
E: Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E: Cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Cant open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
Ive tried wiping my caches, as well as doing factory resets. When I reset my phone it just sits on the HTC splash screen.
So its obvious to me that I foolishly deleted a folder that I need in order to flash new ROMs properly as well as restore previous partitions.
I am S-Off of course

Anyone have any tips or workarounds for me that dont involve having to install Linux on my PC?
Try 4ext custom recovery.
