Hi Guys,
I am very annoyed with data connection loss and heard that this latest rom fixes this. I am currently running 6.1.A.0.453 but PCC still think I have the latest version, even Sony website said the latest version is 6.1.A.2.45.
Any idea when the rom will be available on my phone because if I have to put up with this for another week I will smash it to the wall.
Thanks

Find the ftf file with the newest version and install via flashtool
Unless you have cwm recovery... Then just install the flashable zip from development forum

Flashtool.
Does it requires the phone to be rooted? I really don't want to root it because my Mobile Banking app will not work if the phone is rooted :crying:

I flashed the 6.1.A.2.45 and all good. Battery seems ok but for some reason Android System is right at the top with 40% and screen at 15%, I would of thought this should be the other way around. Checked the graph for details and I noticed that the phone was AWAKE all night even though I switched it to airplane mode.
I am now thinking about doing a wipe but I'm not sure which option to use 'Factory data reset' or 'Settings reset'. Does the factory data reset delete all my data like photos, musics & docs?

Download the kdz file, use tools to get Dz file from kdz, backup NV from lgmdp ,flash dz file using lgmdp software (DZ button at bottom of flash window). Never lose emergency mode.(don't remove battery)

today in italy the v20c was released and I updated using the official procedure more than 12 phones.
Maybe you problems with official update procedure could be related to the computer you used for.
I believe that if you follow the procedure on a "clean" computer you will have success. Uninstall all software and drivers related to LG or any other phone. Check in devices if all USB and modem drivers was removed and reboot.
Start installing the LGMobile Update without connect your phone by USB and follow instructions. If you have success uninstalling previous soft and drivers, the LG application will install USB drivers and after you can connect you phone and continue with update.
Good luck
KDZ worked without any hassle. I just deactivated the LG modem before proceeding.
I updated 3 phones with this system.
I updated using lgmdp and now my phone will not get data so no internet unless i am on wifi does anyone know why or how to fx it?????

it didn't work with my phone in general after flashing the new official update I couldn't get 3g anywhere even on that rom tried flashing a new baseband thru recovery and kdz but nothing had to use kdz to flash original firmware and start over it was a pain in the butt the ROM looked cool but with no data no thank you

Well, enjoy your non-working data then. The new baseband will NOT work on CM7, period.
Next time, think about what you are doing.

You don't understand my data did not work on the official ROM either I did everything it said to do fallowed all the steps and it went just like the post read I rebooted the ROM worked except the data even with the official ROM it would not work I even tried flashing the baseband again for the v20 rom but still nothing and the only way I could get it back was by using kdz and flashing original 2.2 and starting over
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
ZOMG. You are not supposed to use v20? baseband for the ROM you have in signature (CyanogenMod 7.1-RC0 v6.5.5). It will just NOT work.
- Check that you have v10 baseband
- Wipe all, reflash mik's ROM.
- Do NOT flash any other baseband "patch" or whatever similar.
Now you will have perfectly working data.
v20 baseband will ONLY work on official 2.3.3 ROM and ROMs based on that official 2.3.3. ROM.
If you still do not understand this explanation, then kindly stick to stock ROM and do not flash anything at all.

Hi
A newbie could use some serious help. I have an Xperia X10 2010 model that came up with Android 1.6 which I upgraded to 2.1 last year.
Contract over, got it network unlocked. Now, I was able to remove all gmail acounts except for the one associated with Android. Since I need to pass on this phone to family, I need to get rid of that main account.
If Restoring Factory Settings is an option, I can't use it since it'll throw me back to Android 1.6 and checking for an available android update needs a network to be active.
So here I am, want to remove that one bloody account. And upgrade the device to a faster Android version (2.1 is outdated, slow and sucks big time).
I'd be really thankful to get any kind of hel on this one.
Best
SM
Go to the sony mobile website, download the update centre software and install it, after that plug in your phone and follow the on screen instructions.
could you just use flashtool to flash the generic stock 2.3.3 or 2.1 ROM.
that'll quickly fix your problem
or download over wifi?

So the Falshtool should remove my associated account? And since I have 2.1 currently, flashing would persist the version. Android 2.1 and alter, which one is the most stable version for this model?
Thanks for the reply bud!!

A factory reset will not send you back to 1.6 it would factory reset the 2.1. Use this link to get 2.3 and don't this will also remove your google account from the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=

The latest official version is 2.3.3.
U hv unlocked the network. Doesn't mean u don't hv an active network. It means u can use any service provider's sim in ur phone. Also, I don't think a sim needs to be in the phone to update it.
And factory reset will only reset the settings to the ones which are default in current android version. The settings in ur actual settings menu. eg.: ur accounts, ringtone, display brightness, that kinda stuff. No changes are made to the firmware.
Upgrade to 2.3.3 instead btw. Don't bother staying on 2.1.. use sony PC companion. Connect the phone, start PC companion. It'll tell u by itself there's an update available. Follow the steps.. don't setup an account when it switches on after update. Pass it on to ur family

Hi there.
I believe this is my first post, however I have been reading the xda forums for over a year.
I'm after some advice regarding my device Xperia Neo MT15i. I upgraded to ICS but it doesn't seem to work very well on my phone, ever since then I have been trying to find working ftf files of gingerbread so i can downgrade. I have downloaded a few global versions through these forums but none seem to work in flashtool 0.9.10.1 , where the list of files should be it's just blank. With the file list being blank, is that a flashtool problem, or just broken files?
Last night I found a newly updated thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952333 with a version .42 file that actually works in flashtool, however it's a chinese version and a separate global kernel. The problem I now have is that google app store doesn't recognise my phone , or isn't communicating so I can't get any apps. There's no google store app, or google mail or anything in this version. The only way I can get to the app store is via phone or pc browser but trying to install apps does nothing, the apps I want say they are already installed or greyed out.
Basically the chinese gingerbread ftf renders my phone pretty much useless, so is there a working global ftf version of gingerbread still in existence?

I have a Sony Xperia U (st25i) and the bootloader is locked
So i've gathered I can't root the phone unless i'm in ICS. This is the problem tho... I am with T-Mobile and am currently running Android 2.3.7.
My question is, in my current situation how do I upgrade to ICS (T-Mobile says I have the latest upgrade) also i'm assuming once i'm in ICS I can do some fancy stuff than compared to the Android version I'm in right now !!
Thanks for any help guys.

Hi bz786,
I was in a similar situation like you. had a Xperia U and SIM locked to a company. Instead of endless waiting for the company to release the ICS, I just did flash by myself.
Well... there would be no fancy stuff anyway.. unless you root it and install a custom ROM cuz the stock ROM or company ROM always uses up most of the tight 512M ram cap...

Thanks guys! I went ahead and used flashtool but... now I have a problem
So once ICS was installed I was ecstatic however my 3G was not working. So what I did was go to the phone settings and download the internet settings again but now the 3G is much slower than previously on Gingerbread. I think I messed something up with the baseband or installed a firmware which has the incorrect firmware settings (for me).
Does anyone know where I can download (UK, UNITED KINGDOM - This is a must I think for the 3G) Sony Xperia U ST25i T-Mobile ICS stock ROM? (Wow that's a mouthful LOL)

Hello there.
The best way I would recommend is to flash stock firmware.
To flash stock firmware. You will need the following.
A. Flast tool.
B. The firmware you want. (preferably 1.14 firmware)
C. Usb cable.
D. PC.
Follow the steps below.
Download the Flash tool.(links provided).
Download the Firmware, Stock FTF links provided.
Install the Flash tool and the drivers for your device.
Install fastbook and flashboot drivers too.
Click the thunder symbol.
Choose Flash mode.
Browse to choose the firmware you downloaded.
Power off your phone and connect your phone to the computer via USB while holding the power down button.
The phone will be flashed.
Once it is done, You will have your phone in factory settings.
Feel free to customize it.
Hit the thanks button if i helped.

Now there is two other things:
1- I had already downloaded the 15.3.A.1.17 firmware ftf, I afraid to be not the original one, and someone had edited it, how could I now that this firmware is the original one from Sony??
2- If it is the original firmware, then, once I flashed it with the flashtool, my phone will return to be unrooted and I'll receive the OTA updates normally as any unrooted phone?
Thanks for your effort bro.

You will get OTA updates. Even with the 1.14 version. That version is not modified or anything. All FTFs are original ones. And All receive OTA updates as it will if it was never rooted. Unless you have an unlocked bootloader. Incase you have an unlocked bootloader, you have to lock your bootloader to get OTA updates.
Hit the thanks button if i have helped you.

Another Question
I had read many people threads that they flashed firmwares but they had an issue, that the region is not true, like Hong kong or UK.
How could I know that this region is mine, and how can I check the region area on my phone ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that possible to return to the stock state by using Sony PC Companion directly without any flashing or anything that the luck is playing a big role ??
There wont be any problem. I personally have never had any problems. Even though i have done this for years!

Where do you live? Check the firmware list to see if there is any firmware for your region. If not, download the world firmware
I live in India. So i download the Indian firmware. Well, I use the world firmware though
