[Q] Real ICS Lite 4r (Xperia Active ST17i) low microphone? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi.
I have run into a problem, all my friends are complaining about that they don't hear me so good as before.
Before i had stock ROM from SE . 4.0.2.A.0.42 and i did upgrade(new install) to 4.1.B.0.587 from Sony PC Companion 2.1.
After that i didn't had any problem, the microphone was good like it was before.
Then i installed Rage Kernel 3.2 and Real ICS Lite 4r, and after that i have big problems with my microphone. People can't hear me, they tell me that i sound like i'm 6 feet under ground.
So i did downgrade back to 4.0.2.A.0.42 and installed stock SE 4.1.B.0.587 and my problem was gone.
Could someone please help me to figure out why i have problem with Real ICS lite 4r or Rage Kernel 3.2
EDIT: Did the same with Real ICS r6 and MESA v.1.8 kernel, same problem
Best regards

Try real ics r4 with krsh kernel or extended stock kernel.... This would probably solve the mic problem... Worked for me.

[Q] Unlocked bootloader wi-fi error

I'm currently running stock 2.3.3 from SE (through Rogers in Canada) with baseband 2.1.71 (rooted since it was released)
I planned on installing CM7 on my phone so I decided to unlock my bootloader so that it is ready when I eventually do so. I used FlashTool 0.6.7.0 to unlock it and it ran without any problems.
However I'm unable to turn Wi-Fi on. It only says "Error" and I'm not too sure what's wrong. I tried searching for answers but others with same issues were using custom ROMs while I'm still on stock.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this? If you're missing any information to be able to help me, please let me know and I will post them. (I have about a week to fix this as I'll be leaving on vacation and I'll need wifi working)
Thanks!
If you have really opened bootloader, for such device special kernels are necessary (stock or custom). Flash by FlashTool one of such ftf-kernels, then install with utility xRecovery the module wi-fi for this kernel.
The author of each ROM recommends, what kernels to use and gives the link on downloading.
just look for the kernel tht is meant for unlocked bootloader tht should work with stock rom n then flash kernel via flashtool n wifi modules file through xrecovery ur wifi will work
Which kernel u using? U prob need the relevant WiFi modules.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot tonight. I noticed it mentioned to install a custom kernel but seeing how everything else was fine I skipped that step. (ooops )
I had that "error" on my stock with zKernel.I dont know cause, but i fix it with reinstall zKernel..Try with zKernel for stock..

Well, installed FXP105 and everything seems to be buttery smooth. Wifi is working now (yay!), but now camera is not working. Also tried with Vignette and no go.
Gonna search around a bit.
Thats ICS man, camera dont working and some other stuff eather. Its stable but its not for everyday use.

It's not ICS... I installed CM7.2. Found out FXP105 was missing a lib file for camera so I'll fix it later.
Thanks for all your help guys
FXP105 is 9.0 (ICS),thats FXP54 i think.

Hi. I haven't tested it with CM7 but MIUI had the same problem, so try to flash wifi fix and then UnlockedBL.zip . And also try other kernels

[Q] Touchscreen Not Working

Hi
This weekend my x10 mini pro turned of by itself and when it started up again the touchscreen never worked again.
I tried factory reset, dalvik cache clear, data clear, all of it. Reinstalled my MiniCM7Pro rom. Still no luck.
PLEASE help me if you can...
Thanks
And I just tried to install another ROM, still not working
Going to try original now
edit: (check edit 2)
Ok I cant use SEUS to repair my phone back to the original, since the phone needs to be connected to PC Companion, and I need the touchscreen for that...
What now?
Does anyone have the ROM for me so that I can install using xrecovery?
edit 2:
So looks like stock 2.1 rom works (but doesnt have dual touch)
It seems that the dual touch module/driver doesnt work on my phone anymore, where can I find an alternative touch module/driver for MiniCM7Pro v21?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey, no I used a stock SE 2.1 ROM I found here on XDA.
Now the phone is working 100%
BUT... I would like to install a custom ROM again, and I found MiniCM7Pro V21 to be the best/most stable. But all of a sudden the screen doesn't respond when touching it when I'm using that ROM (Same for CM6)
I am also facing the same issue....
Haven't found a solution yet though...
I guess we are stuck with the stock rom for now
Hope so somebody would find a solution to this problem...
Try fllashing any other rom.....i also had sme issue...i flashed cyancream still it didnt work, then minicm7pro still no touch response then finally I flashed stornmix and touchscreen was back again.....

Well i decided I'm not going to settle for stock 2.1 ROM, and installed the nAa kernel.
Then reinstalled MiniCM7Pro V21 and it worked.
However wifi did not work.
Now I am running MiniCM7-2.1.9 and everything works so far.
I would still like to revert back to MiniCM7Pro, since it was my absolute favourite ROM!
Minicm7pro does not hve wifi built from sources...so wifi wont work with nAa kernel..

Is there a way for me to include it in the ROM myself?
Eg: just copying the wifi files into the rom before installing?
Copying files wont solve your wifi issue..u can use zombiepanic kernel, or d4 kernel with minicm7pro....i thnk wifi works with these kernels

Do you prefer GB, ICS or JB?

Hi to everybody!!
This thread is simple.
Have you tried some ROM on your smartphone(Mini, Mini Pro, Active or Ray)??
If Yes, write your impression for best ROM, your model and what you prefer between GB, ICS, JB.
No true purpose for this thread, just fun and/or information for somebody!!Enjoy
GB +1 Mini Pro
My phone is Mini Pro and i tried more and more ROMs.
I think that now the best choice for bugless, performance and compatibility is Gingerbread(now i'm using HASA rom).
In future(when there aren't bug more) i jump directly to Jelly Bean that should be more peowerful than ICS and more featured than GB. But in the future, not now!!
for I have tried many rom and I was not much time with them porq always have those little mistakes that make me go back to stock ics 587 xD most of all by the look of ICS, I will pre jewel with a root and kernel mod walkman and status bar do not complain, Greetings :highfive:
ROM jelly beam PACman ROM alpha14
There is a custom rom that jelly beam that has been the best rom, this more a problem spending the music with the screen turned off, this and the only reason I'm still on stock rom ics

How is the stock 4.0.4 ICS .587 on the Sony Live with Walkman? (WT19) i am having the restarting / reboot problem and i am on 2.3.4 GB .62
the problem was encountered on .58 but as suggested on some forums and reading on the internet. i upgraded it to .62 but it is still rebooting.
I now plan to update to 4.0.4 .587 via PC companion or by flashing stock rom via flashtool but im still reading and is completely noob on flashing
I think the best rom is cyanogenmod 10 by FXP
It hasn't got much bugs except from the camera preview and accelerometer isn't really fixes, but on the whole it's great

You trying to tell me that I try flashing ics 587 for FlashTool and does not start, and now it is doing through PC Companion.
* for I see only one I did for PC Companion because my internet connection is bad, so I decided to get off the TFT ics 587 and tell him that is a clean install as if for the pc companion and blinking when needed or installed a mod that I like and I go back to pure stock, also I have the tft of the latest build gingerbread sometimes I get bored and go back to gingerbread for a while greetings :highfive:
I have used CM 9.1 and JellySandwich (with Panic Kernel) in my LWW. Speed wise (I mean the speed that you actually feel while u are using the phone and not the numbers suggested by benchmarks) I would say JellySandwich is better and more stable. But there are certain handy features in CM which arent there in JellySandwich like changing screen brightness by sliding finger over statusbar, long press volume buttons to seek tracks, better pop up window to adjust system sounds and loads more. Anyways I'm sticking to JellySandwich for now (And I love the Xperia UI). BTW all these are basically ICS based ROMs I guess. I haven't tried JB yet because everything doesn't work in the JB ports for LWW
Well, there is no question about it. ICS is the latest stable so far, but JB is gonna be a bomb, once it's ready and all the major bugs have been fixed. The interface, speed, everything is so much better. I don't understand the GB crowd at all. Come on, guys, ICS is faster, has more features and less bugs, what's holding you back?
I myself like to use new things. Jb roms are going to be like bugless.
My second choice is GB not ICS. Ics performance is not well enough.
But JB is really awsome. And I insist on using android 4.1.2 because of it's performance. No more memory leak

[Q] Ray: From FXP to ICS

Ok so now that I've played with JB, I wanted to try out xperia ultimate hd for instance.
Problem is, I already had a lot upgrading from stock ICS to JB FXP.
So now the question: What are the steps to be sure there 's no problem at all while I change from
Flykernel+FXP
to
Xperia ultimate hd.
I unzipped the source, but can't find any ICS kernel to flash with flashtool. And I think I can not just reboot in recovery and flash the new rom, am I wrong ?
Searched for a clue on xda, sorry if I missed a post with the answer in it.
You should flash an ics kernel like rage kernel and flash the xperia ultimate HD rom in recovery. Don't forget about the wipes, it should work
What are the issues you are afraid of?

flykernel for ics has recovery just use it. You will want to flash the kernel first and then use the CWM from flykernel ics to flash the rom. Since there was no kernel inside the ROM this probably means it uses the stock kernel.
Ok thanks ! reasons why I want to change is :
-> Google Search is leeching my battery, I tried everything from disabling location or history, still draining do not know why...
-> No OTA on FXP, you guys know if there is any chances there would be on CM10 unoff ? CM10 supposed to bring OTA, do not know if FXP will.
->Still my battery is fine with smartassV2 / Sio, but I miss the auto brightness and I wanted a more stable / Battery friendly rom. Is ultimate HD the right choice ?

You should be able to upgrade to ICS .54 using PC Companion or Sony Update Service. Have you tried them? If you intend to use Flashtool I suggest to use firmware 6.1.B.1.54 as it's the more updated, and it's the base for many modified ROM here in XDA. I'm using a .54 based ROM (previously STOCK Rom .54) and no problems with WI-FI. Sometimes very little lags, but nothing annoying..

If you are going to flash ICS,I would suggest you to flash 6.1.1.b.1.54 as it is more stable and fast.
Answers to your questions:
1: The phone lags a bit with ics but it is worth upgrading.I don't have any problems with ics.
2: Nope.Wifi is working fine.
For flashing refer to this guide:
Thread

Simply NO...The new stock firmware 6.1.1.b.1.89 doesn't lag.
-Camera still takes 3 seconds to start,
-Photos taken in dark came out pretty greenish(flash ON/OFF).
-Its quite an achievement that the overall UI feels a lot smoother than the .154 firmware.
-Though i am having problems with the wifi(not tethering).
I am a fellow ST25i user and since I got the 4.0.4 I have experienced problems with the Wi-Fi, with 2 of the same models. But 1 is working but 1 doesn't lol. If I switch the Wi-Fi on it will put the device into boot loop but I can re-install using Sony Update Service but it will happen again if I turn it on. Also with my device I like the touch sounds and keyboard sounds on but when I put the phone in silent mode, and turn the volume to full it will no longer make sounds even if I change it on the settings, I have to do settings reset to get the sounds working again. There are a few bugs for this phone and it's a big shame. I've read elsewhere people are unable to use Wi-Fi no more and I can't really see Sony fixing it...
But this may not happen to you. It may just be my device I did buy it second hand.. But I hope 4.0.4 goea well for you
