[Q] How to improve battery life - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i need to know how to improve battery life on AOSP ROM. I tried other ics ROM for my phone, which had the best battery life ... Do you think I should decompile "boot.img" (from ROM, which has a good battery life) and move kernel into the boot.img on AOSP ROM? Or do you know how to improve battery life on AOSP ROM ? Please advise me... I need help.
Thanks for the replies Mlopik

If you want the best rom, try flashing all the roms and decide yourself! How simple is that.

nice post.
the first ICS I tried was the Indian & now I'm on ME version which is better in-terms of battery consumption.
Edit: sorry I mixed things up, the Indian ICS was for my Xperia Sola not Razr.
the first I tried was "EuropeAustraliaEMEA_USA"

I have installed epsilon v5 rom on saturday, but i have notice that with this rom it drains more the battery life than with the oficial Firmware from telcel mexico, how can i gt that battery boost?

The India ICS firmware has the best battery consumption. Although i'm using MIUI 2.10.12 now. Very very stable and awesome battery life (same as the Stock Indian ICS firmware)

i just installed razr evolution ROM on my phone now...biggest ROM i found on RAZR (554 MBs) that is pretty smooth and operation is pretty fast...i'll post battery life after a couple of days
the performance for this ROM is top notch but the battery drain is pretty bad...after 2 hours of normal use its 80%

I like Rage Kernel
Mesa for battery, Panic for performance
Sent from my WT19i
How about rooting your Android phone? you can choose CynogenMod, best available so far. When you ask about battery life there some that you should considered first.
1. What are the Apps that sucking most of your battery life.
2. Some Apps has tendency to run on background and connect to internet every time, such Apps prone to suck most of your battery life. if you have such Apps installed, are they really necessary? if not then quickly uninstall it. I will give you better battery life.
If you planning to custom rom, you may end up with some compromise, search and find that those compromise are really compromise? is not they rush for custom rom and I suggest CynogenMod.
If you find my information is helpful, a thank will be appreciate. :good:
For me - Do use MESA or Rage Both great on battery life
Now using MESA
Can anyone make a customkernel for cm10 with more governers and scheduler like sirkay's ray kernel and with undervolt?
Gesendet von meinem Xperia Mini Pro mit Tapatalk 2
mesa ftw :highfive:
only because i cannot connect wifi with rage and panic...
Definitely, MESA is great
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715679
I use mesa ... And install no frills from play store and set governor to smartassv2 and scheduler to noop for even better battery life!
Press thanks if I helped

Which governor put it?
SmartassV2 or Wheatley in combination with sio or zen scheduler gives good battery/performance ratio for me. You can find additional battery saving tips here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104246

AOKP ported rom has a pretty good battery life

Try using the FXP Team CM10
It has really good battery life in its current state
I suggest cm9 kitkat or cm10 FXP, because stocks roms are very slow also if they've got good battery life.
Ps: Sorry I've got more problems with this language, because I don't speak English :/

Try UNSTOPPABLE JB. Management of ram and battery is better than CM10 LE
