Some time ago I rooted my phone and deleted a bunch of metropcs related stuff. Since I was using the opera browser, like an idiot I deleted the default browser. As a result of that I had the android market/google play problem. I couldn't download anything because of that stupid error. I tried doing a hard reset (home key + vol. down key + power) and I partially succeeded. After choosing the language and what not I finished that set up and then I get an "the application setup wizard has stopped unexpectedly" error.

When I close that I get a screen that's completely black with top bar. None of the buttons are working, besides ringer volume up/down. And I can receive calls. When I press the lock key and then press it again, I'm able to unlock the screen.

That's about it. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Problem solved!

Under manuals and download, click on the software update tab. Download the usb driver and the support tool. Follow the rest of the steps.
Before installing the driver make sure that you uninstall any other driver that you tried to use. This is by far the easiest process and it takes less than 10 minutes. After everything is done, you'll end up with the stock version of Android 2.2.2

Yesterday I rooted my LG Optimus L9 using LGpwn tool, after that it worked just fine.
This morning I tried to install ClockworkMod Recovery. Using this post. It explains how to download and install CWM Recovery from app that you downloaded in form of APK.
This method did not work 100%, but I was able to reboot normally, so in post it said that sometimes it does not work and you need to download and use Busybox installer Link to busyboxx.
After this I managed to boot in too CWM using app from mentioned thread.
Then problem occurred. After I saw CWM was working I selected reboot device option.
Except now when it started to boot it stops right after Second LG logo (First is static one second one is animated).
I get white screen with "Encrypting" on top and gray line. And one Reset Phone button. IMG they are Dropbox links.
This is followed with Error : Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped. IMG
I am able to boot in too CWM and I have tried flashing something like Cyanogenmod but I get error Status 7. Tried removing line that checks model, no use.
Tried clearing every cache and fixing permissions, nothing. Formatted everything still no use.
Dear XDA community That you in advance.
I fixed my phone by going into SW upgrade mode, and using the Upgrade Recovery function of the LG Software Update tool or whatever. Be sure you don't have any http servers open

I got the same problem, but when I try to access to SW mode and connect to LG Software Update tool to restore my phone, the phone keep disconnect and the phone screen will turn off, so I fail to restore my phone, I have already re-install the USB driver and changed a several USB cable but the problem still, but I tried to restore my phone with SW upgrade method since last night and is was OK, can anyone help me?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Problem Solve Finally, the solution is I plug the battery back to the phone after access to LGMobile Support Tool, and after finish the restore process, the phone will restart but keep boot loop, then I perform the hard reset (Remove the Battery and insert it after few seconds. And now do the 3 button HARD RESET. First press VOLUMEDOWN and HOMEbutton. Then Press Power button only for 3 seconds and release power button but dont release VolDown and Home button and KEEP BOTH PRESSING until you see a Bigger Green Standing Android and circulating Molecular structure above it. DONE! ), then the phone begin work~~~

My phone is an S3 i9300. Some weeks ago I installed an XXUGMK6 Android 4.3 version. At that time I was directed to an East European site (Russian?) which had one of the first releases. Everything have worked ok until I decided to try another ROM (Slimrom). I enabled USB debugging and tried to restart the phone in download mode (Power+Home+volume down buttons) to start the rooting process. I arrive at a screen saying:
Warning!!
A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.
If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key.
Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.
If I press the volume up key it apparantly starts downloading (text on screen: Downloading. Don't switch off your Phone). Nothing more happens even after almost 3 hours, and I have to force restart the phone.
I have tried to factory reset the phone, but it is still impossible to past the Warning!! screen.
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem are much appreciated.

Please do not post twice look at your other post...
Apologies if some of the other threads answer this, but, I was concerned that they were device specific and I would appreciate reassurance that a solution is correct for my phone before doing anything else.
Oh boy, I think I am in deep doo-doos!
The plan was to install a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505).
So, I rooted the phone and installed TWRP.
I downloaded the latest nightly ROM from CyanogenMod, as well as the Gapps and copied them to the micro-SD card
I got into TWRP Recovery and did a full backup of all data to the micro-SD card.
Having done this I thought I had done enough to protect me from catastrophe (wrong!)
Still in TWRP I did a Factory Reset/Clear Data
I did an Install of the CM 12.1 ROM
I did an install of the Gapps
All seemed fine, with no errors showing up
Then I did a reboot and this is where it all went pear-shaped!
The Setup wizard started and the first indication of a problem was numerous messages like "Unfortunately Gmail service has stopped"
This happened for all sorts of apps - Gmail, Google+, Youtube, GooglePlay, etc.
Anyway, I plugged away with Setup and it connected to wi-fi and then I got the EULA screen. When I ticked boxes and clicked "next" the screen went blank and after a few seconds it said "Unforyunately, the setup wizard has stopped"
Argh!!!!
I thought that all was not lost as I could get back into TWRP and try again or, failing that, restore the backup.
However, I cannot get into Recovery mode/TWRP - If I hold down the Vol+, Home and power buttons then I see a few lines of very small colourful text in top-left, but, when I release buttons, the phone starts up Android rather than Recovery
I have tried starting by holding Vol+ and power and the same thing happens
I have tried starting by holding Vol- and power - this comes up with a warning about using a custom OS and gives an option to cancel or continue.
If I choose continue then I set a message "Downloading.... Do not turn off target!!" and then it sits there for ages (at least an hour)
Can anyone suggest what I can do to rescue my phone?
The ideal outcome would be to be able to restore the backup I made
If this is not possible then I would like to get it back to a useable state.
Any help would be most gratefully received!
First, enter the download mode by pressing vol-, homekey, and power key at the same time. Then tap the vol.+ button.
Then download the stock rom for your phone along with correct model number.
The downloaded romshould be in .zip format. So extract it on your pc. You must see a file of .tar.md5 or .md5 format. Now while in the download mode, connect your phone to pc Use odin to flash that file.the restart you phone.hope this helps..i dont take any responsibility if you further damage your phone....

One of the spot you went wrong was not formating system and data instead of a factory reset.
Also make sure to have the proper gapps package for the rom you are using.
The instructions above will get you squared again.
Also next time try posting in the forum for the device. You have a far better chance of getting answers from people that have a better chance of working.
Try SAMmobile.com (you will have to make a free account) when you have made your account click the firmware button at the top of the screen then type in your phone model number. For example SM-G361F the choose your country. Then in the filter box seach your network provider ie. O2 then click download. Once you have downloaded it extract the file to a folder. Boot your phone into odin/download mode.then open odin 3.09 or any other similar tool. (You can download odin anywhere) extract the odin file then open it. Once opened Click BL or AP it dosent really matter then choose your file and wait for the blue bar on your phone to finish. Then it should restart
And should be stock rom. If your brick your device please note you have full responsibilty over your device. If you do mess up and brick your device just repeat the steps above.
Hi earlier my son was on the nabi 2 and randomly it started spamming "Unfortunately google search has stopped" every 3 - 4 seconds, which affects the keyboard I suppose, now I'm just stuck on the "Enter the password" but no keyboard to do so? Please help me I'm not sure how to run these programs to fix it or how to even start.

hello, my son's nabi is behaving the same. Did you ever get a way around this? If so please post
My daughters is the same. It's incredibly irritating as we can't get into parent mode to try updates. Only thing I can think to do is a factory reset but am loath to do it as she has had this nabi for 3 years and has a lot of stuff on it. Anyone find a solution?

Not sure what android version you are on. With ADB you could try
adb shell pm clear com.google.android.gms
Otherwise it will likely be a factory reset.
You could try and enter recovery mode and clear the cache.
1. Turn the tablet off completely.
2. Hold volume up and power.
3. A menu should pop up.
4. Use the volume keys to scroll the menu selection. volume down scrolls the menu down.
5. Scroll to recovery kernel and press volume up to select it.
6. Wait until an android lying on it's back with a warning triangle popping from it's body appears.
7. Hold Volume Down, and while you're holding it, press volume up.
8. A menu should appear. Using the volume down button, scroll to "wipe cache partition" and press power to select it.
9. Using the volume down button once again, scroll to "yes" and press power to select it.
10. When it says it's done and the menu is back, press power and the tablet will restart.
This worked for me: delete com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox in data/data
Hello, all. I joined just to post this solution I just discovered.
Problem:
"Unfortunately Google Search stopped working" + no keyboard + thus Nabi is stuck in "Kid Mode" as OP described, because you can't get to system settings in "Mommy Mode" to disable the malfunctioning app, because you can't enter the Mommy Mode password.
Background:
My daughter's Nabi2 tablet (running Android 4.1) did not have USB debugging enabled before it flaked out, so I thought I was out of luck. Moreover, doing "fastboot delete cache" didn't work, nor did deleting the cache and the Dalvik cache via TWRP. But this DID work:
1) Installed Android SDK tools to get fastboot utility working. (How to do this is amply documented elsewhere.)
2) Installed TWRP, twice. First an older version 2.3.x, then 2.8.5.0. You may be able to go straight to 2.8.5.0. but I followed a helpful post on beatificabytes dot be (search for "Nabi 2 Bricked"), who did it in two stages, and this worked easily for me.
3) Optional: I made a backup of my data using TWRP 2.8.5.0, just in case anything went wrong. I also made a backup of the whole system. (The earlier version of TWRP couldn't access the files, but loading 2.8.5.0 enabled me to back up files.)
4) Go to TWRP file manager. (Tap "Advanced" tab, then "File Manager") I navigated to data/data and deleted the whole folder named com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox You have to look carefully for it because the end of the name gets cut off in the left-hand window that lists folders. Just tap the folder name, then when it shows you the contents in the right-hand window, tap delete without tapping anything in the right-hand window. You can verify that you are deleting the whole folder after you tap delete.
5) Exit TWRP. I did not opt to install SuperSU; I left the tablet unrooted. Reboot to normal system.
Voila! "Unfortunately..." no longer appeared, and the keyboard was back!
I took a moment to go into Mommy Mode and enabled USB debugging for future use.
Hope this helps. There seem to be a lot of people trying to fix this bug! Saved me a factory reset and my daughter losing all her progress in her games.
Other folks have suggested directly attaching a keyboard to the Nabi using an "on the go" cable. (Female normal size USB to male micro USB.) I didn't have one handy so didn't try it, but let folks know if it works for you, because it's an easier solution than installing a recovery program. But I am extremely grateful for the TeamWin community and those who ported it for Nabi2.
EJJ
Buy an OTG cable and plug a wired keyboard into the nabi 2. Type your password in and you will be in mommy mode!! The cable costs 1 buck to 3 bucks online. While in mommy mode go to your settings. Open APPS. Select ALL in top right and find Google search. Open it and clear all cached as well as all data! Tablet is back to normal without losing a thing!!!!! I just did this to my nieces today and it worked great!!!
Ok so in a nutshell I was trying to FRP unlock my friends phone. Problem is that it kept bringing up an error while loading the setup. I finally got it to where i input the account information (as the owner) and I was able to open settings through bugging out the voice search (I also could open file manager).
I noticed unknown sources was greyed out.
Before consideriing doing a factory reset I went ahead and took my friends advice and stopped setup.apk and google play services.apk
When zi went to clear the data it ended up taking me to the very first start screen, I was just a few steps from completion.
Now after I say setup new device the phone switches between activating network and clicking setup new device. Even clicking emergency call does nothing.'
Meanwhile when talkback is on she informs me how every single play services, gmail, and contact app stop working.
In summary, I want to factory data reset the phone.
Chimeratools. load stock firmware -> reloads firmware but doesn't wipe the current data (refurbish not available for this device, only load)
LGUP -> Load is available, but refurbish is not
Hard Keys -> Apparently the G5 doesnt have hard key capability
TWRP -> thing is not oem unlocked
ADB into stock recovery -> ADB will not work.......not usb debugging.
Please assist
With the phone shutoff hold volume down and power, as soon as you see the lg screen release the power button then quickly repress it. make sure to not let go of the volume down button. it might take a few tries but you should be able to get into factory reset menu
