What do you mean by screen mode?
are you talking about changing the screen tone under display settings? or are you talking about taking screenshots?
Yes I'm talking about the screen mode under display setting

1. There is a preinstalled system app named "Galaxy SII Settings" look for it on you app drawer. Alternatively, you may also find it as "Advanced" under Settings. Run the app
2. Under Screen tab, Select Mode.
- Set the mode to whatever you want.

Is there a setting or way to disable the lock screen in CM7.1?
I have tried the Notification widget to turn it off, but every time I reboot I have to disable it again, looking for a permanent solution.
I believe there is a setting built into CM7, but if I'm wrong, I use an app called No Lock free from the market that does exactly what you want, and it'll still be there after a reboot.

I search all over in CM7 Settings, but couldn't find anything...
Edit: permanent solution which sticks even after reboot is to disable screen lock from CM settings> tablet tweaks> disable screen lock.
Sorry had to edit the post.

The one place I didn't check!!
Who would have thought? Of course Tablet tweaks makes much more sense than putting it in Lock Screen settings...
So I put Cyanogen 7 on my Galaxy S II. My tap-to-focus doesn't work in the camera though. I tried looking through the settings but can't fix it. The camera focuses only after I press the button to take the picture. Please help.
Because CM7 is AOSP derived, to the best of my knowledge, AOSP doesn't have that feature. Features like that are incorporated.
I had a samsung moment from sprint that was "vanilla android" and it couldnt do it either so im basing my assumptions off that.
Somebody please correct me if im wrong

wrong it is in the camera settings under focus type i believe and select touch
Nick - it doesn't have a touch option in the settings under focus mode.
Hit the menu button and there is an advanced options menu. You can select pre focus or long press focus

I just looked as I'm on cm7 at the moment and I found it in seconds
Sent from my super sweet Galaxy SII
I was also able to find it under the camera settings>focus>touch
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
I don't have that option. Mine only shows Auto, macro, off, fixed, facedetect.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

Are you using the onscreen menu button or the capacitive one?
Use the button left capacitive menu button to access the advanced options menu

I went to advanced settings as well and the only two focus options it gives me is Pre Focus and Long Focus, neither of those solves the issue.
The only way I kinda solved the issue is i downloaded the MIUI camera. That lets me tap-to-focus but I don't like the layout of it. I want the camera app that is given in CM 7 to work right.

Open the camera,
Choose the on-screen options button (not the capacitive button)
Under Focus Mode the options are:
Auto
Macro
Off
Touch
Fixed
Facedetect
Touch works fine for me on the latest CM7 build.

Please see a few posts above. I don't have touch as an option. I tried that method already.
I think some screen shots are going to be needed to make sure there's no confusion. Please post screen shots while in the camera app showing your available options.

Ok here are some pictures of the settings.
1st picture shows the on-screen settings and the 2nd picture shows the advanced settings which was accessed by the menu soft-key.

Looks like it may need a reflash of cm7 then. Not sure what else it could be.

agreed... i think he changed the APK out, or perhaps he is using the old RC1 CM7 version...
Ok well I re-flashed CM 7.1 from the Cyanogen website, the most up-to-date ROM and the camera still won't tap-to-focus and doesn't give me the option in the settings. If someone has any idea what it could be I would be pretty happy...it's frustrating.

Ok I am new to ubuntu touch.
I have installed the latest saucy-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip on my nexus 4 but i am sort confused with all the gestures ...
for example if i enter the settings control panel how do you apply a settings?
am i correct in assuming i swipe UP from the bottom and choose back? but that doesnt apply my setting.
next one is how do i go back? again in the settings panel. lets say i open the wifi screen. how do i go back to previous screen?
should this not be easy to figure out?

Ubuntu Touch is not ready yet so you have to set most of the things with the Terminal app. The setting will be fully functional in a couple of weeks I assume.

It's easy you've figured it out already.
I hope you'll enjoy using Ubuntu Touch anyway. You could look at the first installable applications for example and install the xda app or something else. Or you could change some things with the Terminal (look at all those tutorials at the Ubuntu Touch subforum here at xda). Or you could do even more, e.g setting up BitTorrent Sync...
Or you start writing you first app for Ubuntu Touch .
Some settings just don't work, but validation is done by back (or a button that validate, if there is)
Hey guy, I am hoping someone can help me with this because it's starting to get really frustrating. My G3 is very laggy. When I am texting, it will freeze for a few moments and then catch up, sometimes missing some letters that I have typed so I have to redo it. It lags with playing games, or pressing the on-screen back button... there is a very noticeable lag.. is there any way to fix this at all?

There is no dial code for Sprint G3 as far as I know.
you have to use shortcut master in order to access the rest of the hidden menu settings such as Thermal dae

Under developer options you can select whether you want to use dalvik (ODEX) or ART (precompiled apps).
But: have you tried to remove new apps you had installed? Maybe they are causing your problem.

Settings/developer options; probably you don't have this menu item
Try to install osmonitor from market, and turn on "show cpu usage"
Just to check if nothing runs in the background.
Developer options menu is unlocked by doing the following...
Go to General tab (or section if you're not in tabbed mode)
Select 'About Phone'
Select 'Software information'
Tab 'Build number' (KVT49L.LS990ZV4) 7 times - you'll see a countdown pop-up after the first few taps
You have now unlocked Developer options menu under General tab (or section)
I ended up calling Sprint and had them reset the services and reactivate the phone. After this and updating PRL and Profile, it is running smooth as butter.
Has anyone figured out how to view the lockscreen in landscape mode. I tried a few screen rotation apps but no dice. Lockscreen always in portrait.
PS: Not interested in rooting my device.
Thanks.

Very old app (been using since Note 3 days), but it works - "Set Orientation". Not available in the play store anymore, so you would have to side load.

Attached apk, but I tried rotating my lock screen without it installed & it worked. So you're right it probably a different issue.
My lock screen rotates to landscape so long as rotation is allowed in the settings/quick settings.
I know that you do not need any third party app because the only way that the face unlock will allow to unlock using your face is when the lock screen is in landscape mode.

Thanks. Thats the same app I had found. Still no dice. Lock screen still won't rotate. Its always in portrait mode until I unlock it. Btw I don't see the lock screen on the pictures you posted. Can you show me a picture of your lock screen in landscape mode with the fingerprint scanner on the right or left? Does it rotate too?
Thanks for the assistance

What my word isn't good enough!? Kidding
Pattern shows on screenshot, but finger print doesn't. Lock screen rotates 100% of the time with or without 3rd party app.

Lol. Yeah no offense. No matter what I do I can't get landscape mode on the lockscreen. I don't know what the hell is going on.
Your device OS is geared towards displaying everything in portrait mode and the only solution is to get a hold of a decent OS that isn't owned or runned by hipsters
Make sure auto rotation is enabled.
