Hey guy, I am hoping someone can help me with this because it's starting to get really frustrating. My G3 is very laggy. When I am texting, it will freeze for a few moments and then catch up, sometimes missing some letters that I have typed so I have to redo it. It lags with playing games, or pressing the on-screen back button... there is a very noticeable lag.. is there any way to fix this at all?

There is no dial code for Sprint G3 as far as I know.
you have to use shortcut master in order to access the rest of the hidden menu settings such as Thermal dae

Under developer options you can select whether you want to use dalvik (ODEX) or ART (precompiled apps).
But: have you tried to remove new apps you had installed? Maybe they are causing your problem.

Settings/developer options; probably you don't have this menu item
Try to install osmonitor from market, and turn on "show cpu usage"
Just to check if nothing runs in the background.
Developer options menu is unlocked by doing the following...
Go to General tab (or section if you're not in tabbed mode)
Select 'About Phone'
Select 'Software information'
Tab 'Build number' (KVT49L.LS990ZV4) 7 times - you'll see a countdown pop-up after the first few taps
You have now unlocked Developer options menu under General tab (or section)
I ended up calling Sprint and had them reset the services and reactivate the phone. After this and updating PRL and Profile, it is running smooth as butter.

I have a very strange issue: regardless of which browser I use I'm missing check boxes, radio buttons and combo boxes. There is no indication that there is supposed to be an input at all. If I click in the area that you would expect an input to be it seems as if I've clicked something, but there's no indication of the state of the input.
Vegan GB with Dolphin HD. I've tried Firefox, sky fire and the stock browser.
TIA

All of them. For example at the bottom of this reply page there is a 'Post Icons' fieldset filled with radio buttons with pictures beside them. When I look at this page on my gtab none of the radio buttons are there. Same thing happens with checkboxes.
I don't have a tab with me right now to post a screenshot, but that's the general idea.

Odd, I am running veganginger and am NOT seeing that on either dolphinHD or the stock browser.
Did you install a custom theme?
*Sigh*
In your browser, you need to change the setting to allow picture and flash all the time.
Also, in some text box fields, what you need to do is long press the menu button first to bring up the keyboard and then press on the text box. For example, for the search option of this thread, you have to long press the menu button to bring up the keyboard and then press the search option and then press once on the text box that appears.
If you are using dolphin HD, in the settings look at the upper right hand corner and you should see an option that reinitiate your dolphin browser. Click on that and make sure you choose all the time instead of on demand.

If reverting to stock fails, you should be able to re-flash ginger (backup first, in case I am totally wrong) without clearing data or cache or anything, which should replace all the system files with stock versions for that rom.
I'm thinking the theme thing borked some core apk/image library. Hopefully reverting will do the trick but if not, you can always take the above nuclear action

Yeah, I was thinking nuclear , but I'll try to reflash first. I didn't know I could do that. I'm using titanium backup linked to my dropbox account, so I don't see either as horrible options.

I hate having to switch skins after every reboot to bring back the apps I have moved to the SD card. Anybody else? Hope somebody figures out a permanent fix. TIA
Or, is there already a better way of getting around it?
it sucks that the apps on my sd icons go away. i didnt know switching skins brings them back so thanks for the temp fix but i hope someone knows a better solution. cant figure it out. i thought that maybe root would change it but, it didnt. i hoped that flashing the new viper rom would fix it but, notta. thanks to whoever finds out how to perma fix.

Root gives you admin access to the ROM that's it. If you did revolutionary and just flashed the superuser zip then you are still using the stock rom with administrator aka super user aka root access. The only way S-OFF will fix this is if someone makes a rom that fixes the issue and you flash that.
No fix, Sense isn't caching icons for items on SD.
However, there's a quicker fix than what you're using.
Find and install an app on the market called "Fast Reboot". No, not the fast reboot that HTC has, it's an OS reboot like tool that just reboots all apps and not the OS.

This app doesn't actually "reboot" anything. It really restarts sense and other background apps.
if you go to settings, applications, running service, hit menu and touch "show cached processes then stop htc sense, it will reload all the apps and the icons. a lot easier than using an app to reboot from the market or switching profiles

One click to restart is harder than 4 clicks, scroll, find, stop, etc that you're doing?
I'll stick with my 1 click solution.
Then you do that, cause fast reboot doesn't work for me n my app icons

Recently, I'm unable to auto-hibernate Facebook app. But if I manually long-press the Facebook row and then tap the Z button, the Facebook app can be hibernated. Anyone knows if it's Facebook problem or Greenify issue?

It is neither. Rather it is by design. Any app busy in the background (not merely running), will show up as "working". After it completes its work, the status will change to 'will be hibernated after screen off'. It will then be automatically hibernated once the screen is off.
This is to allow apps to complete their work before being hibernated.
If you don't want Facebook to even work, highlight it and then tap the three dot menu at the top and choose 'ignore the app's state'.
I am not responsible for any consequences.

I am on the same version. So it seems to have an issue with your setup.
After ignoring an app's state, when you highlight it again, you will get an option for reconsidering its state as in the screen shot below.

I had already suggested that and he had clarified that he doesn't get that option.

Try what Black_Focus_X said earlier. When Facebook shows up as 'working', highlight it and then tap the 'zzz' at the bottom. You should get a pop-up window telling you that it is unsafe to hibernate an app in such conditions and also giving the option to ignore its state. Tick the option box, then OK.

I've now installed what I think is 2.8 beta 3 bit still can't get this to apppear, perhaps because I can't get Facebook to appear in the working state. It does however keep getting started by other apps. I shouldn't have to stop the services manually in developer settings. So how is this accomplished? The whole reason I have Greenify is to stop Facebook and other data stealing from running rampant when I'm not using them.

When it's awoken by another app, it will say "woken by ....." underneath the app name. If you tap on facebook in greenify main screen, then tap the scissors icon in top right of the page, a pop-up will explain then allow you to cut off the wake-up path. Play around with it and you'll find that cutting some wake-up paths is good and cutting others will stop notifications.
I currently have these paths cut-off for facebook:
...notify.MessengerForegroundProvider
...provider.PlatformProviderBase
What wake-up paths have other people cut?
Hi,
I would like to know how to force "State always ignored for hibernation". There are a couple of apps that are still popping up and refuse to hibernate and I still haven't been able to figure out how to force showing the message about ignoring one app state. I haven't been able to do it since earlier versions. Guess it is something very simple but I have tried many things and still have no clue
